17 Chapter 17: New abilities

The notifications kept going but Max didn't have time to focus on those. He now had a bigger problem. Davis, who looking at him with a piercing gaze.

'Just what is he thinking?' Max thought

"Damn... I wasn't expecting that... Alpha go call the doctor" Davis said his facial expressions weren't his normal ones. He was confused and concerned all at the same time.

[Warning: Intense Bloodlust detected]

Eventually, the doctor followed by two nurses came to the training room, picked Max up and took him to a hospital room within the same building. The room itself looked similar to the one where Max been previously taken.

The only difference was that the beds didn't have restraints attached to them.

The doctor was the same as before. The nurses were also the same, they were all awestruck. Max's facial features had been so beaten up that at first they couldn't even recognise him.

The doctor let out a long and exaggerated sigh and began transfusing blood into Max.

Max didn't really both looking at what they were doing to him, he wanted to check out all the notifications.

'Open' he thought internally

[Stats] [Abilities/Skills] [Plasma Manipulation] [Demonic abilities/Skills] [Shop/Craft] [Quests/Goals]

The first thing that Max had noticed was the fact that now 4 of the 6 options were now unlocked.

The four being, Stats, Abilities, Plasma Manipulation, Quests.

The term Plasma manipulation still confused Max but he decided to focus on that later.

Max's stats after the battle were

[Race: Human]

[Level: 3]

[EXP: 400/700]

[Energy 0/1000]

[Stamina: 20/330]

[Strength: 33]

[Speed: 33]

[Agility: 33]

[Mind: 33]

[Available points for distribution: 0]

After looking at his stats Max realized a few things. Those being that for each level up all of his stats would go up by 1 point, this applied for all of them except Stamina which would increase by 10 each level. The only that hadn't increased was his Energy capacity.

'Skills and abilities'

A new menu opened up in front of Max.

[Hosts current skills are:

[Dash level 1: Increase speed by 50 percent

Skill lasts for 5 Seconds

Note: Dash uses 30 Stamina points upon activation]

[Inspet: Gives the user a detailed description of the object that he's looking at]

[Poison Resistance Level 1: Hosts body will resist all toxins]

[Sponge Level 1: Allows host to absorb knowledge like a sponge]

[Mental fortitude Level 1: Prevents the host from going insane]

[Self Regeneration Level 1: Hosts natural ability to heal himself]

[Energy absorption Level 1: allows the host to absorb and store energy]

[Magnetic Field Manipulation Level 1: Allows the user to disrupt the magnetic field around him (Requires Energy 10 per minute)]

Looking at the screen, Max could recognise a few skills like Poison resistance, and Mental fortitude. He must have gotten those when he was locked up inside of his white box, but a few of them confused him. Especially the last one

'Energy absorption? How does that work? And what in the world is Magnetic field manipulation' Max thought

There were two more menu's that Max wanted to check out

'Quests'

[Hosts Quests and Goals will appear here]

[Current Quests: Make an ally, Lie to Davis]

[Daily quest: Lift: 100 Kilograms, Run 10 Kilometres, Absorb 100 Megawatts of energy]

[Rewards: 5 Distributable stat points]

'Now how do I absorb 100 megawatts?' Max had started to wonder how he could absorb so much energy.

"Is something wrong?" The doctor asked, his sudden question had startled Max who was lost in deep thought

"Nothing, just thinking about something" he replied nonchalantly

"Don't worry, Omega. You'll find the answer to all you're questions. It's only a matter of time" The doctor reassured Max.

"Hey, doc, what's your name?" Max had asked because he felt like he'd be seeing this doctor quite often.

"Kenny, Kenny Rogers, but you can call me Kenny" he replied while giving Max a slight smile

Max nodded and closed his eyes. He wanted to see if he could pull up the screen while his eyes were closed.

'Open' and much to Max's surprise the screen opened up

'Great, even more privacy' Max felt even more comfortable using his system now

'Now for the last menu'

'Plasma manipulation'

[Plasma Manipulation: Allows the user to absorb energy and convert it into a highly concentrated form of Plasma]

[User currently has no energy]

'Whoa, this is a perfectly passable ability' Max thought

[New Quest: Absorb energy]

[Reward: unlocks skill: Plasma conversion, Plasma Ray, Plasma Blade, instant level up]

[Punishment: Nothing]

[Details: User can absorb energy by touching any object that contains energy and activating the skill "Energy absorption"]

'Well that sounds easy enough, and the rewards are pretty good too' Max's body was now filled with newfound enthusiasm. He wanted to test his new skills and abilities right away.

"Hey doctor" Max called out

"Hm, yes?" Said the doctor who was currently busy using some sort of energy gun to seal Max's wounds

"Isn't there a faster way to heal?"

"Hm, there are some drugs that speed up healing, however, your body had a natural resistance to all chemical-based drugs, so for you, there isn't anything we could use"

The doctor's answer had disappointed Max. He had hoped there would be a drug that could heal him faster.

A few minutes had passed and now Max had nothing to do, so he decided to check out his inspect skill

He looked at Kenny and thought of 'inspect'

[Name: Kenny Rogers]

[Race: Human]

[Energy: 100,000]

[You are currently in contact with Kenny, Would you like to absorb all of his energy?]

[Note: Absorbing all energy will kill Kenny]

'What the hell? I can just kill him, just by absorbing his energy. How fucking strong was Lore?' At that moment something had clicked inside of Max's head

'Why did Davis let me touch Lore... He knew that I could be killed. Bella even warned me' Max now had more questions than answers.

Why did Davis let him touch Lore? Why does Davis always have such intense bloodlust around Max? And why did Davis need Max so badly when he hated him so much.

These were a few questions that Max needed answers to
