Erik arrived with Crabina by hand to the armoury, seeing a metal giant moving parts around, the powerarmor ar least a meter taller and way bulkier.
Erik coughed, making the giant pause "errr... werent you just gonna add an scanner?"
Rose: *well... i did add the scanner, but then also a control system for drones, then a better battery system, and more armor to protect the gill system and back area, but then it was too heavy so... i added more omph! hehe~ do you like it~?*
Erik: "well, I will need to widen the tunnel but i think i preffer a just a bit buffer power armor, that thing... would make me wayyyyy too slow, you over engineered it way too much..."

Erik set up big pots the size of his body in the community plaza, heated up by induction, and started making a hot pot dish and some side dishes.
He first added some tasty kelp from the sharksnake farm, abyssal bones for their marrow fat, and a couple dozen clam eggs and chicken eggs on a separate pot to boil them for 7 minutes 'that should leave them perfectly boiled, then I will put them on cold water and easily peel them'.
In a big paella-sized skillet, he added some algae oil and started roasting some onions, carrots, and stripes of marbled abyssal meat, he would add them to the big pot later after they browned a bit.
As he was cooking, the smell traveled all around the octopeople city, with dozens after dozens soon following the smell and congregating around him, watching him cook.
One hour later, the hot pot was ready as Erik started serving bowls to the eagerly awaiting octopeople.
Shana by the side also contributed by ordering some warriors to cut some abyssal meat sashimi.

Jana was finally satisfied with her cleaning and with her rifle already polished, took it and went out, checking out the room where she had seen the Leader earlier on the way, she took a peek and saw the Leader taking a bath while patting her plump belly with a smile, seeing that she blushed and ran away to the city.
Quickly arriving at the city, she soon noticed an enticing smell and lots of other octopeople going in that same direction 'it smells so good..., what could it be?'
As she arrived, she saw almost all her tribe there quickly spotting Erik in the center, and she was spotted by Erik too, that waved at her to come over. Then she nodded and shily went next to him, blushing being under the inquisitive gazes of so many people as she wasn't used to so much attention.
Erik put a hand on her shoulder and shouted out loud "Today we congregate here to congratulate Jana!, a genius that has successfully made her first rifle! and who knows, maybe she will surpass me one day and make even better weapons for all of us, now eat till your bellies are full and celebrate!"
*Jana! Jana! Jana! Jana!* the crowd cheered at the prospect of food and new weapons, while Jana constantly tried to hide behind Erik, but he kept her in place with a firm grip on her shoulder.
Hours passed and scouts, hunters, and warriors equally ate as much as they could of the plentiful meal, lying down on the ground to the sides and resting once they couldn't eat anymore.
Once some time passed and people stopped paying her attention to her, Jana relaxed, also helping the fact that she was really enjoying the meal.
At that moment, Erik sat beside her with a bowl of his own "so, what do you do on a normal day?"

Erik: "well, you refine the liquid and then start moving it around as it cools down, making a sweet, fluffy, and tasty food"
Jana found 2 more "and popcorn and mochi?"
Erik: "popcorn is popped corn, and mochi is rice beaten into a gummy paste that can be sweetened, roasted, or filled with ice cream"
Jana: "I wanna try making those 3 then!"
Erik: "nice, since you chose 3 easy ones, we will make potato chips tomorrow too, they are finely cut and salted potatoes, delicious and crispy"
Jana: "easy? but it says here on the receipt that mochi takes a lot of work"
Erik: "yeah, a lot of work but..." he signaled a nearby scout
