1 The Fateful Day

As the sun rose on another day a young man woke up in a vast estate in Sea Breeze Town. This youth seemed ordinary at first glance, but with a closer inspection, anyone couldn't help get a feeling that he was anything but. This young man was the only son of the Sun family's patriarch. His full name is Sun Tian. He sat up and looked out the window at the raving waves of the Southern Ocean as he thought back to that fateful day.

----------------------

"Sun Tian is simply astounding, to learn to walk at age 1 and read at just the small age of 3. He is simply a favored Son of Heaven and will surely walk far."

"Well, of course, he is so talented, just look at his father, don't you know the saying 'like father, like son'?"

As the various elders of the Sun family talked amongst themselves a group of small children all around the age of 7 walked into the hall. These small children were here to commence the Awakening Ceremony. The Awakening Ceremony was conducted by using a Soul Driving Stone which was a 3-meter tall monolith made of a pitch-black material. The Awakening Ceremony is what all children at the age of 7 go through to awaken their Martial Soul.

The Martial Soul is what the various people on the continent used to cultivate. The continent that Sea Breeze Town resided is called the Serene Lotus Continent. It is a place where strength ruled supreme and the weak were crushed and used by those strong people. The Serene Lotus Continent had 9 major powers that controlled most of the land on the Continent. These 9 powers were divided up as the 4 sects, 3 clans, and 2 empires. The names of these powers were The Blood Demon Sect, The Heaven's Might Sect, The Flame God's Sect, The Flowing Water Sect, The Qin Clan, The Xie Clan, The Bing Clan, The Serene Thought Empire, and The Divine Lotus Empire. The 2 empires were the most powerful of the 9 powers and the name of the Continent came from these two empires.

There are many different types of Martial Souls ranging from any type of weapon to even the elements such as fire or water. These different types of Martial Souls were put into different classes. The various classes involved Support, Beast, Weapon, and Element. These different classes had tiers in each class such as a Tier 1 Mouse Soul that simply can't compare to a Tier 9 Dragon Soul. Because of the various Tiers there existed suppression. If a lower-tiered Martial Soul of the same class went against a higher-tiered Martial Soul the lower-tiered Martial Souls would be suppressed and unable to use all of its power.

"First up, Sun Bai, step up and place your hand on the Stone,"

A child small for his age walked up nervously to the stone and weakly placed his hand against it. After a couple of seconds, a bright light that heavily contrasted with dark material glowed from the Soul Driving Stone. A small straight sword about 2 inches in length appeared from the light. This showed that Sun Bai had awakened a Tier 2 Weapon Class Martial Soul. For a small town on the coast far from heavily populated cities, a Tier 2 Martial Soul was considered decent.

"Tier 2 Weapon Class, you will receive 4 origin crystals," stated the overseeing elder.

After he finished his sentence an excited look passed through Sun Bai's eyes. Origin Crystals were a vital part of cultivation. They greatly increased a person's cultivation rate. A top-tier genius with zero origin crystals would take about 2 weeks to a month to take the first step in cultivation while even an ordinary person who awakened a Tier 1 Martial Soul would take the same amount of time if given enough origin crystals.

"Ok step to the said so others can have their turn," stated the elder with a slight smile.

As more and more kids stepped up to the Stone there were some shouts of excitement and some sounds of children crying as the Stone had no reaction whatsoever. There were originally only 10 kids present and 8 of them had already been tested. Out of these 8, only Sun Bai's Martial Soul had gone passed Tier 1. The only 2 kids reaming were Sun Tian and a young boy by the name of Sun Zai who considered himself Sun Tian's rival.

"Sun Zai, step up to the Soul Driving Stone," yelled the elder.

Sun Zai stepped up to the Stone with a confident gaze. He placed his hand on the stone and a light twice as bright as Sun Bai's shone throughout the hall. The various elders and patriarch seemed clearly surprised. As the light took shape a 4-inch wolf manifested. Shock ran through the various elders as a Tier 4 Martial Soul was extremely rare in their small town. A smile of arrogance shone on Sun Zai's face as he looked gloatingly at Sun Tian who just showed a calm, unrevealed face. This uncaring attitude just made Sun Zai extremely angry.

"Sun Zai you will receive 10 origin crystals, make sure to work hard so you can become a leader of the family," said the elder with a big smile across his face.

"Sun Zai thanks the elders for the origin crystals and I promise to work hard for our Sun family," he said with a smile.

"Ok now for the final, Sun Tian, step up to the Stone."

Sun Tian walked to the stone with a calm and collected gaze. A hint of anticipation appeared in the patriarch's eyes as he looked at his son. He clearly had high hopes for his son and wanted the best for him. As Sun Tian placed his hand on the Stone he felt two forces move in his body. He realized very quickly that there were 2 martial souls residing in his body!
