6 CHAPTER 6

Sofia's POV

I pulled away from him like my life depended on it and wiped my lips.

How disgusting.

"Sir. With all due respect, are you out of your mind? "

"Sofia. I already told you before. I will use any method to have you as mine. "

"Wait what! you stole a kiss from me the fact that you're my boss gives you no right to do that."

"Oh come on Sofia you I'm sure you wanted it just as much as I did"

He said and smirked then whistled while moving away like he hadn't just kissed me.

It's pathetic but a twisted part of me knows he might be right. I'm so angry at myself, I shouldn't have let him get away like that.

I felt dirty. I had saved everything for the right man. I wanted my first kiss with the man I love. Not with some random disgusting manwhore.

I just wanted to cut my lips and replace them with new ones. Drown them in alcohol, do a plastic surgery.... Ugh.

Well. From now on, I'll make sure never to be alone with this man again Never.

"Hey Kelly. " I greeted as I entered the lab.

"Oh. Hey Sofi" she said as her mouth was stuffed with cookies.

I took one cookie from her pack of cookies.

Kelly was my school buddy when we were in the university. We did level one and two together as we were placed under the same course but we separated at level 3. I did vetinary medicine while she did microbiology.

Since she graduated a month ago, the school offered her this establishment so she can prove what she can do. Yeah. She got the honours.

"Kelly. I brought something here for you and I want you to analyze it please "

"Hmm. Let me see that. " she said motioning towards the sample bag I was holding.

" Okay I'll do that" she said after observing it carefully.

"But why these? "

I explained her the situation in the ranch and she nodded.

"Well I'm gonna ask you to bring blood samples of each animal OK. "

"Okay bye Kelly. "

"Wait Sofia. I was closing for the day already. Let's go. "

"Okay"

I waited for her to clean up and then we were on our way. She lives just a few blocks away from my home so we could trek.

"Kelly, why were you not in church this Sunday. It was the first Sunday of Advent, you know. "

"Yeah. I kinda got sick" she said and pinched the tip of her nose.

I stared at her blankly having spotted her lie. She always pinched her nose when she lied.

"Ugh. Okay. I was feeling very extremely lazy. I had quite a hectic week and to pass it over, I went to the club and woke up with a heavy hangover on Sunday. Happy? "

I smiled. "Oki. But you still have to answer to the choir head tell her why you weren't present... and I'm not helping you" I said and turned my head away so she wouldn't make the beaten dog eyes she knew I couldn't resist.

When we arrived Kelly's house, I quickly walked to the main road before taking the road to my house.

Call it paranoia but while walking with Kelly, I felt someone was following us. So to avoid any horrible scenarios like in all those movies, I quickly took the main road.

Hmm. Or Maybe these are the consequences of reading too many wattpad stories.

The smell of chilli caressed my nostrils as soon as I entered my home and I inhaled deeply.

I went to the kitchen where my beloved moms were cooking dinner. I went over and hugged each of them and they hugged me back happily.

"Where are Diego and Irina? " I asked them.

"They both went to buy groceries since we were running out of food. "

I frowned. We barely had any money to buy food suplies now. Mom was even complaining about it this morning.

Then I noticed something on the table. It was the envelope those people gave us in exchange of our restaurant.I had sworn to give them their money back intact and now this. I counted the money and some of it was lacking.

"Mom. How could you. " I said through gritted teeth. Anger clouding my judgment and tears clouding my eyes.

"Baby... " she said stepping towards me but I stepped back.

"Don't. You know how important this was to dad and still you accept money from those people in exchange for it. Mom I thought we were going to give it back more like throw the money in their faces. "

"Listen Sofia. We didn't have a choice

". My aunt said angering me further.

"Of course" I scoffed.

Just then, the front door opened and closed and Diego and Irina entered.

"Evening everyone. I hope -" she stopped upon feeling the tension in the kitchen and she slowly dropped the bags on the counter with Diego following closely behind.

"Mind to explain this" I said holding the envelope up.

"Oh that. We were planning to replace it at the end of the month because we got many more customers at our new restaurant and we were running out of supplies already. "

Irina said and my mouth formed an oh.

"Seriously Sofia. You thought I'll accept the least penny from those people. You know me better than that. " she scoffed and it was my turn to feel guilty.

"I'm sorry. " I said.

"Okay. Forgiven. But you'll have to make my favorite brownies first. " she said batting her lashes.

I rolled my eyes and laughed. Everybody soon joined after. We video called our sisters as always and the rest of the evening went by smoothly.

I laid on my comfy bed. Ah mg favourite time of the day.

As I closed my eyes, my last thought like every other night since I met him, wondered back to the gorgeous blue -eyed man.
