4 CHAPTER 4

"Daniella, Anna hurry. The plane isn't going to wait for you guys."

"We're coming " they shouted in unison just before getting out of our small house.

Dani tied her dirty blonde hair in a bun (as always. In fact she had all kinds of bun styles) and wore a pair of maroon colored jeans, lace shirt and black Nike tennis.

Anna had her curly black hair cascade down her back and she was wearing a pair of leggings and a tank top with lace heels.

We all drove to the airport in Diego's car.

Our mothers became all emotional and together we cried and did a very very long family hug.

After our little moment, it was finally time to go. We stayed and waited for the plane to take off.

Mom and Aunt Maria went to church while Diego and I needed to finalize the details for the new restaurant.

It was opening this Monday. Actually it's been two weeks since the salary incident and Anna had her degree in management. Since she was brilliant, the school offered her a one year stage in one of the biggest banks in Houston . Then she could come back and continue for a masters program.

I sighed.

Now, Jess can finally have a decent salary for her child and herself.

Monday morning, I arrived quite early. The animals are slowly losing their strength and this can't continue like that.

Sure. I give them medicine but the more I give them, the more they are sick.

I concluded that it must be the water or the food. So right now, I'm heading for the river to go and take a little quantity. Then I'll go to the field where we usually fetch their food to take a quantity too.

I'll then go to the lab for analysis. I was deep in thought when I suddenly bumped into someone.

I looked up and I saw Miguel.

"Oh sorry. " I said.

"Nah. Its okay"

Phew. At least some people know respect.

He had Italian accent too but not as thick as his brother's.

Ugh. Why am I thinking about that asshole again.

"Err.... Miguel right? ". I said before the atmosphere became awkward.

"Yep. And you beautiful lady are... "

"Sofia. Sofia Locke"

"Hmm. A beautiful name for a beautiful lady. " he said smiling and I couldn't help but smile back.

Suddenly, I heard the beautiful Italian accent that gave me chills.

"Hey Miguel. What is taking you so long-"

"Oh I see. You prefer flirting with the likes of her than working." He said eyeing me disgustingly.

"Okay. It was nice to meet you Miguel. See you another time. " I said and walked away completely ignoring him.

Yep. My grandpa always told me that the best answer to an idiot is silence. People who insult you just want to get your attention. Yes. They all just want some attention.

Grandpa.....

My thoughts drifted to him as I walked to Mr. Alfonso's office. My grandpa stayed back in our little village when we decided to move, saying that his place was there.

And he was right. If not of what happened we would be there too.......

My thoughts rapidly came back to the present when I heard moans and grunts coming from Mr. Alfonso's office.

I saw the door slightly open and when I peeped in, what I saw made me wish I had never peeped.

Hell. What I saw repulsed me to no end. It made me wanna puke.

There they were, lying on the couch. A very naked Vivian was straddling a very naked Alfonso.

I quickly moved away from there and ran away from the house as fast as my legs could carry me.

Well. I ended up in the employee kitchen where Jessica was cooking lunch for all the employees along with Laura, another maid.

When I entered, they eyed each other suspiciously before eyeing me.

"Hey Sofia. Is there any problem. You look pale. " Jess asked.

"Here. Take this. " Laura said handing me some water which I gulped down in one shot.

I looked at them while having a mental debate on whether to tell them or not. I decided its better I tell them so they know how to behave when around him.

"Alfonso is having an affair with Vivian. "

They both looked at me like I had suddenly grown a clown head then they started laughing.

When I was starting to doubt their sanity, Jess spoke up.

"Oh Sofia. I love your innocence sometimes. Everyone here knows about their affair. "

My mouth formed an o shape. I felt a bit stupid now. It all makes sense now that Vivian is following him around like a lost puppy.

I went back to work after that and did everything extra fast so I could leave earlier and go to the lab to give the samples I took.

I was passing through the stables when I came face to face with the devil himself.

"Sofia. Where are you going now" he asked me.

"Umm. Sir. I finished my work earlier today so I'm heading home. " I lied.

"Okay. Follow me. "

"Um. To where sir if I may ask?"

"Trust me Sofia. I just wanna show you something. "

No. no sir. I don't trust you at all.

"Um. Okay sir but please don't be too long. My mom is waiting for me at home. "

We walked and he took me to the bush somewhere in the South of the ranch. Near the river. Now all my senses were alert and I was ready to run at any time.

Suddenly he stopped and turned around. I was a good distance from him.

"I have meant to tell you this since the first time I landed my eye on you. I like you very much Sofia and I want you to become my girlfriend. " he said straight with no emotion in his eyes or whatsoever.

I on the other hand was having a heart attack.

What the hell. Do all men usually sleep with girls before asking other girls out?

I came to one conclusion. He is a playboy.

So I said what any sane person would say.

"No sir. No. I can never be your girlfriend. "
