16 CHAPTER 16
*20/01/2015*
Lavanya's POV
"Phew, exams are finally over. HIGH SCHOOL IS OVER" My friend Mai shouted.
"Well, over if you pass your exams" I deadpanned at her.
"Ughhh, why do you always have to be so pessimistic ,Lava?", my other friend Gina exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic, it's different"
Mai and Gina eyed me suspiciously both chewing on their salads.
"OK. Enough school talk. I have a scoop for you girls." Gina said taking the pompous air she always does when she successfully bullies the nerds, that is when she used to bully people.
"Spit" Mai and I said at the same time.
"Well, the Jonas Woods is throwing a party in his mansion this Saturday and he invited me." She said finishing with an excited clap.
"WHAT??? REALLY??? I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU." Mai exclaimed.
"Great" I deadpanned.
"What do you mean happy for me? Be happy for us cuz..
he said I could bring as many friends as I wish"
She finished excited again. I swear, this girl is a ball of energy.
Like seriously, what's there to be excited about? Dancing indecent dances with a bunch of other hormonal teenagers? No, thanks. I find it very uncomfortable and awkward, I tried once and I swore never to try again.
"WHAT, REALLY? OH MY GOSH, IF IT'S A DREAM I NEVER WANT TO WAKE UP!" Mai exclaimed.
"Great" I deadpanned once more and resumed chewing after my pizza.
"Great? That's all you have to say? When the hottest boy in town just invited us to one of his parties, which are the most sought after parties in the whole of New York? Oh my God, I even heard Justin Beiber was going to be there. Aaaa"
"Great" I said once more.
"Okay. There's no time to waste. We have to start preparing ourselves right now." Gina said looking more determined than I had ever seen her to solve a maths question.
"Why? The party is only tomorrow." I said raising my brow in question.
"Yeah, which means we have a little more than 24hrs to get ready which is wayyy too small for such a big event." Mai said.
I gave them a 'like seriously?' look.
"Girls, even brides don't take that much time to get ready." I said.
"Whatever. We're going shopping tomorrow first thing. But how about our own little pajama party this night?" Gina said.
"OK" both Mai and I answered excitedly. Now these are the kind of parties I like.

"You guys must have been pretty close, huh?" Sofia said with a lot of sympathy in her eyes. The same sympathy present in every other person's at that table eyes.
"Yea- yea we were" Lavanya said tears brimming in her eyes, as she remembered the horrid events that occurred that day, the

Lavanya's POV
"NO. I'M NOT WEARING THAT" I said scowling at the mosquito net my friends dared to call a dress.
"Oh, come on, you'll look sexy in it... for once" She said wiggling her brows.
"And I said no. I have no intention of looking sexy" I said reaching up to the top of my nose to fix my glasses only to realise they weren't in their usual position thanks to my dear friends who insisted on caking me with makeup.
No offense but wearing makeup, It'll pass but wearing a mosquito net is a big no-no.
"MaLaGi"
I froze and turned towards my friends.
"I call upon malagi" Gina said.
"No, y-you can't do that"
"Oh, yes she can" Mai said smirking.
MaLaGi is our own secret spell that one can invoke only once a year to compare another person to do what she wanted. And no. One spell can't annul the other. You see our initials in the spell.
"Now, go wear this" Mai said throwing the mosquito net at me.
I groaned in exasperation. Well, I just have one more spell to succumb to.

Wood's Mansion.
10pm
"Your names." The scary looking bouncer said.
"Gina Moore, Mai-Louise Penyang, Lavanya Rhee" Gina answered.
He entered the names in his i-pad and nodded stepping aside for us to enter.
The loud music reverberated in my chest, as soon as I entered. But I was surprised to see the inside was not quite what I expected.
The house was indeed beautiful to say the least. Right at the opposite end of the door was an aquatic wall. Yes. A giant aquarium with all sorts of fish and plants. Did I just see a shark?
The aquarium separated two grand staircases that led to the upstair portion of the house.
The lighting was a typical clubbing lighting though, dark with disco balls hanging up and producing different shades of colours.
And the hall was full, to the brimm, and strangely everyone was sitted in their assigned booths. From here, I could see booths with comfortable looking leather seats.
We made our way to one of the booths still awed by the beauty of this mansion. The owner of all these must be filthy rich.
I sighed contendently as my butt touched the fine leather.
"You see, this place isn't as bad as you thought." Mai smirked at me.
I rolled my eyes and saw a girl wearing barely any clothes, in fact she was clad in a rather scandalous two piece night silk wear and she wore high boots. My eyes jumped out of their sockets as I stared at her. How can anyone wear that? And to top it all, she was heavily clad with makeup.
She came and asked for our orders and I was about to speak when, Gina spoke up.
"Three margaritas please"
"Coming right up" She said giving us the fakest smile I've ever seen in my entire life before leaving.
"So, what do you think of this party?" Mai asked me as she shaked to the beat of the music.
"Uh-huh. In your face huh?" Gina said as she shakes to the beat of the music too, probably looking all smug about the fact that she proved me wrong about this party being lame.
I rolled my eyes at their childishness and replied.
"Well, you could say that it is nice." I said rolling my eyes again.
The girl came back shortly after with our drinks and we took a sip of our drinks, well except Mai who gulped down hers.
Suddenly, the music stopped and a heart stoppingly handsome man made his way to the top stage that was on top of the aquarium.
He had piercing green eyes and dark brown hair with olive skin, cute pouty lips and a sharp jawline.
"GOOD EVENING EVERYONE" He shouted and everyone shouted back.
More like boys shouted back and girls made cringe worthy shrieks. Were those supposed to be purrs?
Yuck. I cringed.
"Welcome all to the Woods mansion. I promise an unforgettable night as always and please, do enjoy the party, LET THE PARTY BEGIN" He said and followed by more shouting from the crowd, and suddenly everyone was standing up.
I didn't understand until my friends pulled me up using both my hands but I wasn't understanding why because I didn't want to dance.
Well, my confusion was cut short when the seats suddenly retracted into holes that opened up in the ground and then closed up, turning the hall into a gigantic dance floor.
Wtf?!!!
"Woow, let's dance" Mai said as she moved into the crowd out of my sight, and Gina followed leaving me standing there awkwardly.
Well, here goes nothing, I said as I moved towards the bar, which thankfully had seats that were just as comfortable looking.
I sat down and ordered a glass of balleys.
What? I like it.
The bartender gave me two glasses and when I shot him a sceptical look, he looked up to the upper stage behind me urging me to follow his eyes, only to be taken back, when I saw a golden booth with golden boy sitted right in the middle, with skimpily clad girls all over him and two guards guarding the booth.
"The boss wants to meet you" the bartender told me.
"Well, tell golden boy I don't wanna meet him" I said turning to look at the golden boy again.
The guy sent me a smile to which I just rolled my eyes, took my glass from the bartender and gulped it away, never turning back to look at golden boy.
I took one more shot after that then opened my phone to browse. I couldn't afford to be drunk tonight because I was driving us home.
Suddenly, the until the unimaginable happened.
A picture of Mai and Gina unconscious and bound with ropes popped up on my screen.
You know, I've felt fear in my life, but the kind of fear I felt when I read the adjoining message was a whole new level.
Come alone behind the house, or your little friends shall never ever be seeing the sunrise again. You have 10minutes.
Your golden boy.
