1 The one that got away

I still remember the day my life changed. It all started when I was 7 years old. It was the best day of our lives. I and my mother were at an amusement park. I was so young I didn't even see her paranoid. Her and my father split when I was 3 and I don't know why.

"Eomma, can we go on this ride"

She remained quiet. She was looking around with horror on her face. I could feel a bad aura but I didn't think anything about it.

"Umm. Angel can you do something for me." My mother in a serious but gentle voice.

"Yes, Eomma?"

"I want to play a little game. Its a really long game... I need you to keep this necklace on you and never take it off you. Not even in the shower or when you sleep," I got really confused. Why is she saying this to me?"I want you to close your eyes and count to ten. We're gonna play hide and seek ok?"

"Okie Eomma" I started to count but before I could start she said

"Remember that Eomma will always love you and always there to help you" I started to feel scared and uneasy. I started to count...

After I finished I looked around next to me was a credit card with a note.

"To my little angel,

I'm sorry I couldn't keep you safe. I have to leave you for now. We will see each other in the future. Take care of yourself. Don't do anything that will lead to danger ok. I wish I could explain all of this to you now but you're still young. You'll understand later in life. Remember to keep the necklace on you all the time. I love you Y/n. And I hope you can forgive me."

After I read the whole note I was in tears. My mother left me. So many questions started to fill my brain but the one that was most important was why. Why leave me? Why now? And what do I do now? All I know is that she's gone. But I thought she loved me. She promised me to stay by with me till the day she dies. Please say she is still alive. She can't be going now. It's too soon. Why. Just why. We were happy. You were my best friend. We had a perfect life. Today was supposed to be my birthday surprise...
