6 - Dungeon

"System, take me to dungeon 1." John said.

After getting kitted up in his new equipment he felt he was ready to challenge the Dungeon.

[Teleporting.]

Soon he arrived in a massive arena at one end there was a gate and all he could see inside was a cold darkness.

Suddenly he heard the same voice that he had heard in the challenge trials shout:

*Begin*

And at the bottom of his vision there was floating text that now read,

<0/1000 slain>

Then he looked again at that mysterious gate in the distance and was surprised to see skeletons start to wander towards him out of it.

"So, these must be the things I have to kill." he said almost excited at the prospects of the rewards he might gain from this seemingly hard challenge.

A Few Hours Later...

<998/1000 slain>

It seemed as if the system knew when he was tired or could not continue fighting as he discovered that when this was case the skeletons took there time coming out of the gate.

Otherwise he would have been swarmed with hundreds of skeletons and killed easily. After all he was merely a 15 year old boy, even with high attributes and the determination of someone at the bottom of society, he didn't have the training or expertise of a combat master or any expertise for that matter.

It was lucky that the skeletons were more or less easy opponents and lumbered towards him at a slow and steady pace, like lambs to the slaughter.

After 'slaying' nearly one thousand skeletons he found himself gradually becoming accustomed to holding his blade and went from wildly swinging it about to performing vaguely precise attacks.

"This must be due to my high intelligence and wisdom attributes." he thought praising the system for giving him almost god-like learning and comprehension abilities.

Soon enough he had slain the final skeleton.

<1000/1000 slain!>

<Would you like to enter the final stage?>

"System what does the final stage hold for me?" John said warily after all the system had thrown him into an obstacle course with bloody thirsty monsters raging being him. After this he had learned his lesson and didn't enter anything he had no clue about.

<Well there will be a higher class of skeleton. You might call it a leader or more powerful figure so a Boss?>

"A Boss monster, how much more powerful would that be?" he asked unwilling to engage in any fights that could result in the loss of his life.

<The Boss should be about triple the power of a normal skeleton by my estimation you should be capable of dealing with it as a long as your careful.>

"Okay System take me to the Final Stage." he said anxiously preparing himself for the upcoming fight that he expected to be a hard battle.

<Entering Final Stage 0/1 Skeleton Captain Slain>
