6 Fate Hasn't Abandoned

'Damn, fate doesn't want me to succeed at all.'

'It definitely wants to abandon me just like my parents did in this life and the past life.'

Leo kept running towards the orphanage. He realized that he couldn't just go back and let the kids see his face. Yes, they too wanted to be cultivators but even their beast souls ended up being trash. Despite that, none of them actually cried.

Leo being much more mature and having memories of past life should also be one of them. He should be strong, but perhaps, he was just hurt and sad.

Regardless, he changed the direction in which he was running.

Even though the village was small, there was a small area where a few, countable, shops were set up.

The vegetables that they sold weren't that good, but people would still buy since that is the only thing they could eat to survive.

*bam*

Leo ended up bumping into Aunt Ai -> The lady who was just previously telling them stories and details about the cultivators and overlords.

Her full name is Huang Ai, a lady who is not that old. She had been helping Leko in taking care of children. She works for free since all she likes is children.

She had lost her husband when she was pregnant and then lost her child during childbirth. Because of that, she was lonely and was always thinking about raising a kid.

Specifically because for this reason, she was close to the kids.

"Leo?"

"What are you doing here?", she asked as she looked at Leo's face being drenched with tears.

"You-"

"Are you crying?", she lowered herself and then whipped his face with a napkin which had in her hand.

Leo calmed down after she held his hand and walked beside him towards a shop.

"Here, have this.", she bought tomato and gave it to Leo.

"Come on, eat it and cheer up.", she said with a smile.

Getting even a tomato was quite rare. One would hardly ever get them to eat.

That was why it was even sometimes called a desert out here.

Leo took that and ate. She held his hands as she walked while asking about the reason for his crying.

"Auntie, actually…"

He then explained the situation. Ai listened to everything calmly after which she hugged him.

She said, "At least you have a dual Beast soul. Cheer up."

"If you never give up, you can achieve whatever you want.", she said.

In this kind of situation, one would just say to give up or cheer up and take another route. But Ai was positive. She knew how to cheer a child better.

She also knew how hard work could be rewarding. She knew how mature Leo was and even if he showed an immature side of his for the first time, she knew the very words that could cheer him.

Leo, in the end, took those words to his heart.

'How could I forget such a thing…'

'Fate…?'

'Ha…'

'I will believe in hard work instead of that disgusting fate.', Leo smiled as both of them returned to the orphanage where Leo reunited with the other kids.

Leo then forgot about those things for now. He started talking with other kids and looked at their sarcastic disappointment in how they too failed in having a good Beast Souls. While it was supposed to be some depressing talk, it ended up making them laugh since all of them failed.

Their goals changed to being someone who would open shops and sell many goods. One of the kids even said that he would become a merchant.

It was soon evening. The kids were tired after playing for a lot of time so today, they had dinner earlier and ended up sleeping.

The same was true for Leo as well. He too fell asleep.

But guess what, it was this sleep that changed his mind and reset his Aim!

'Huh?'

'What am I doing back here?', Leo was surprised as he entered the Void again.

But this time, there was a large circle under him that was shining with three different lights – red, black, and white.

Leo looked at the Rooster from earlier that was on his right side, and at the dog that was towards his left. But there was something else from which he couldn't take his eyes off.

A cat was in front of him. Yes, a cat with golden strips all over its body which continued towards his eyes. A little red tint near its eyebrows as if it had makeup on.

"No way…"

Yes, the cat that stood in front of him was none other than a cub of a Lion! It resembled a lot like the Lion beast that had eaten him in his previous life.

"Wha-"

"What is that doing here?", Leo's consciousness was trembling.

*gulp*

'No way…'

'This is definitely a soul realm, which means, these three are my Beast Souls!', he realized.

'Then…'

'I am born with three beast souls!?', his expression was mysterious. A little bit of smile and a little bit of nervousness was mixed.

Looking at the White Lion like a cub, he was reminded of the Lion eating him. That was frightening and that made his heart waver for a moment.

But he came to accept the cub as his soul as well.

He, after comparing it to the previous lion, realized something.

'It does look like a cub, then does that mean it would slowly grow as I grow stronger?', he asked himself.

'Come to think of it, Auntie Ai did mention that there are cases of the evolution of Beast Souls…'

'Then does that mean…'

'Does that mean these three can evolve?', he looked at all those Beast Souls.

*gulp*

He, right after waking from his sleep, looked at his clenched fist intensely.

'The rooster and the dog, they are definitely in the premature form…'

'I must awaken them first and then focus on awakening the mysterious white cub which was not even detected by the crystal ball.'

"Fate hasn't abandoned me…", he said as he looked at the night sky.
