3 Chapter Three

Magnolia couldn't shake the fact that Adonis had a identical twin although he wasn't his brother. This changed the way she viewed Adonis. He had never mentioned having a cousin nor an uncle or aunt on either side of his family.

Adonis smile was hiding much more then Magnolia thought. She knew being royalty couldn't be easy let alone being the heir to the whole kingdom. She didn't have experience being royalty but she did have experience attracting unwanted attention and keeping secrets being the knight, Wrath.

"I just wanted to see Adonis today. Not make a fool of myself in front of his cousin." She sighed as her familiar, Torrent tried to shake off the leaves she gathered from the bush she hid in prior to Caspian and Magnolia's encounter. "I was asked to do one simple task and I made it so much more complicated then it needed to be. Ughhhh..... Why am I so dumb?"

"I don't know maybe, you inherited it." Torrent joked knowing the Magnolia wasn't looking for a response. According to Magnolia's recollection she had inherited the title Wrath from her grandmother and the present Envy had be given his title by Magnolia's grandfather. She didn't know that there was one other set of Wrath and Envy that held the titles in between. Magnolia's grandmother and grandfather never mentioned them since their story has a not so happily ever after.

Both grandparents started out as oblivious teenagers training under their predecessors. Ryuu Shai (Magnolia's maternal grandmother) had hair just like Magnolia's but now it was the color of the clouds that lurked over Euphoria. Her wisdom-filled eyes matched the very sky those clouds expanded a crossed. She had a tendency to repeat the story of how her and her husband Hekima Phol meet. However, Magnolia didn't seem to mind.

Magnolia recalled the most recent time her grandmother told her that story. They both were out of breath from training and Shai knew that her granddaughter liked a boy at school but she wanted someone that challenged Magnolia like Phol did with her. "I remember the day was one of the hottest days and many tried to cast spells of ice and water to cool themselves. My father, your great grandfather gave me some coins to spend at the market for clothes or shoes. I had never gone to the market by myself so he warned me about thieves. Like usual I ignored his warning and ventured onwards. Then I meant Envy. That man swindled me out of every coin I had and you can bet your pretty head I tried to hunt that bastard down.

I tried to casted a location spell even know I was terrible at magic. I remember that I heard laughing above me and there he was laughing it up in that large tree that the town of Thorne surrounds. "Hey give me my coins back!" I yelled. I remember that pompous moron waved that bag of coins and said: "If you want it. You'll have to come a get it." I don't think he expected that I would climb a tree in a dress but you better be damn that I was getting my money back." Shai may have used insults to describe Phol but that didn't mean she loved him any less. They don't see much of each other due to Phol training the present Envy separate. The only things Magnolia knew about Envy's real identity is that her grandfather knew who he was and that's its dangerous to find out this soon who each are.

Magnolia knew she had no right to complain after all Adonis was only absent for a week. However, she still yearned to hear his voice, to see his smile, and to be by his side. Unfortunately fate had other plans.

'Just one simple smile. That's all I ask.' she thought as she looked up into the heavens.

The worst part of this would be that Caspian reminds her so much of Envy. Determined and stubborn, yet blocking people from the truth. The same qualities the Seven Deadly Sin possesses.

Her wolf familiar could sense her master's distress so she tilted her head, drooped one of her ears, and finished it off with some puppy eyes. Torrent was determined to comfort her master by any means necessary even if that meant pretending to be a domesticated dog begging for pets.

"Torrent, what if he's Envy and I decide to pursue him and Adonis realizes too late that he likes me too? Or or... what  even worse I'm happy with Caspian? And Adonis is gonna die sad and alone because I broke his heart." Magnolia worriedly confided to Torrent as she scratched behind Torrent's ears. Magnolia secretly wanting to forget the former thought that Caspian was in fact Envy.

"Don't worry Magnolia, Adonis has Citrus."

Torrent sarcastically replied as she finished scratching one of her ears with her back foot.

"That's even worse." Magnolia glared not wishing that fate on anybody even if Citrus and Adonis were engaged to each other didn't mean they should go through with it when they finish school.

"Magnolia, have you ever thought that Adonis might be Envy?"

Torrent's statement was right on the dot and she knew it. She could smell that Adonis and Envy were intact the same person but admitting that to Magnolia would ruin all the fun of watching her suffer.

"I doubt that. I could never think of Envy as anything but a friend, no matter how many advances and puns he makes."

"Come on Magnolia, you have to admit his pick up lines are quite clawver." Torrent joked.

"Not you too." Magnolia said as she rolled her eyes at the wolf who smiled proud of herself for getting underneath of Magnolia's skin. Magnolia casted her doorway spell, the same one she used to go from the academy to Eshan Manor but, instead of the Eshan Manor she was making the second destination her parent's bakery.

Thaddeus, Magnolia's father greeted his only child with a firm hug. "Hi! Dad! Miss you too....Can't breathe." Was the few words that she mange to squeeze out as her dad was hugging her. He finally let go so he could finish with the costumers. Amongst the costumers was none other then the auburn haired Athena.

"Hey, Alya." Marinette also paired her greeting with hand wave.

"Wanna come upstairs?" Magnolia asked since she wanted to play the magic game 'Monsters and Mayhem'. Her room was located above the bakery along with other rooms since the top floor of the bakery was apartments.

"Nah, gotta buy something for Nefarious and I don't feel like baking so short cut it is." Athena replied hoping she would get a reaction from Magnolia who was too dense to notice that Nefarious obviously liked her.

'Glad I got out of playing Monsters and Mayhem with her. Magnolia, your my best friend but I would like to win once in a while but I'm glad I'm getting Nefarious something. He seems down. Keeping up this lie of us dating was probably not his smartest decision. He should just tell her he loves her before it's too late.' Were the thoughts that riddled through Athena's mind.

"Should I get him something sweet or salty? He comes here often enough does he have a favorite?" Athena asked knowing that Nefarious would perk up if he knew that Magnolia had specially hand picked the gift out for him.

"He usually asks me want I made then buys that." Magnolia's reply was a shock to Athena.

"You know who would appreciate some extremely bitter lemon tarts, Adonis. I being your best friend would gladly deliver them for you" Athena said as she gave a suggestive wink. Magnolia's face quickly turned to a rosy pink.

"I could never." She squeaked in embarrassment.

"Girl, don't give me that yours parents are both bakers, yes you can." Athena stated feeling a little bad that she was deceiving her friend into making treats for Adonis when they were actually going to be for Nefarious since bitter lemon tarts were his favorite dessert.
