Nikki's Point Of View (Before Death)

I finish my shift as a coffee barista before bidding my boss a goodbye with a fake cavity-giving sweet smile. I swear that one day she is going to overwork the staff and kill me in the process.

Well, it is a good thing that I decided what to get engraved on my grave.

I snort at the message that I had thought of and quickly grab the public bus before sitting on an empty seat.

All of a sudden- I feel an unfamiliar tingle spread through my body, it feels as if an electric current is flowing .

Goosebumps rise on my neck, my arms shake and I am filled with this creepy feeling as if someone was watching me.

And just as suddenly as it had come, it stops and I feel normal again. So normal that I am almost convinced that the thing happened wasn't true.

Convincing myself that it was nothing more than a weird moment, I think of home and what to to cook for myself and Tessie.

'Maybe pasta...' I muse thinking of the taste of the hot sizzling cheese pasta and licking my lips in delight.

Before I can think anymore I feel someone place an hand on my shoulder making me flinch, my heart race and almost succeeding in making me fall of my seat.

I turn to look back and see- BRIAN?

My races as I look at the person I had not met for years and the grin that he gives me makes me grin back.

"Brian? What are you doing here?" I ask taking in his light subtle and long brown hair.

"Just visiting..." He says nonchalantly "How are you Nicole?" He asks genuinely.

"You know me, as awesome as ever" I say with light laugh.

"Glad to see that you still haven't lost your modesty" He says laughing himself

"Thank you, kind sir" I say with a mock salute

He shakes his head at me in amusement and we just look at each other in a comfortable silence. Then my hands start to itch and I get bored so I ask him.

"Wanna go and grab some ice cream?" I ask

He grins at me before getting up "Do you even have to ask?"

"What are you doing?" Brian asks me his eyes sparking with amusement

"What do you think I am doing?" I retort

He studies me "My eyes telling me that you are dancing on top of a table with no music whatsoever and everyone is staring at us.."

I look around and see that everyone is truly staring at me

Oh well...

I wink at them and they blink pointing to themselves.

"Oh and the manager is going to kick us out so I am just going to leave.." he adds getting up and walking out casually. I glare at the back of his head.

Suddenly someone taps my back and I turn to see a man looking annoyed.

"Who are you and what are you doing?" He asks in a gruff tone

And you must be the grouchy manager.

"The better question is who are you and what are you doing today?" I say flirtingly batting my eyelashes and twirling a strand of hair between my fingers

He blinks at me before smiling widely and showcasing all of his yellow teeth

"I am free tonight" He says in a low tone

Yeah.. not interested dude.

I take a deep breath "All the ladies and gentleman this man right here is free for the night" I shout before pointing to the manger, jumping down and running outside

Outside I spot Brian talking to a girl who looks as if she is in her late teens.I move close to them to eavesdrop

".....Know that wacko who was standing on the table?" The girl asks him

"That wacko? Oh no, not at all, she is just a crazy person whom I saw today, you know she was actually standing on someone's 100$ bill when that man searched for it and lied to his face when he asked her if she saw it.."

That traitor! In my defence the man didn't ask me nicely enough

I quickly whack his head, making him groan in surprise and pain

"You were saying something?" I ask my voice deadly

He doesn't see the danger, nods enthusiastically and says "Oh yeah, I was just..."

20 seconds later

"Get off me I cant see anything!" Brian shouts clawing at my hands which are on his eyes

I am currently on his back, my legs around his waist while he struggles

"Shush..I am trying to have a civil conversation" I tell him and turn back to the girl who was taking to Brian about me

"So.. you said your name was Candice?" I ask and she nods at that still staring at Brian who is yelling a lot of... unprintable words

"No one can have a civil conversation with a person like you" He screams trying to throw me off

I offer Candice a apologetic smile and then remove my hands which were on his eyes and whack the back of his head

"Shut up... People are watching" I say as an woman in her 50's gives me the stink eye

"They are watching because of you idiot" He yells at me

That's crazy

I whack him once more and turn to see Candice and find her gone.. I look around and see her sprinting as quickly as she can

"Smart girl" Brian says following my gaze and looking after

That causes him another hit

I swear.. guys never learn

Somehow we reach Central Park and begin to eat our ice creams which was actually the reason we had gone out

I look at Brian to find him already staring at me

"Is there something on my face?" I ask worriedly trying to clean up whatever that has been spilled on my face

He grabs my hand stopping me and looks me in the eye

"I like you" He says staring at me seriously

Oh....

"I like me too?" I say a bit confused

He runs a hand through his hair frustrated

"No. I like like you" He says and suddenly it makes sense

Oh, he likes me..?

And then all of a sudden I see the light, birds singing and angles playing whatsoever they play while singing aaaahhhh....

So I do what a girl would do...

I run away

I reach home by ten and open my phone to read the msgs Brian has apparently sent me

Brian: What happened?

Brian:I am sorry

Brian: You alright?

Brian:I didn't mean to scare you

Brian:Do you like me?

Brian:Ignore that

Before he can type anymore I send him a msg and a goofy smile spreads on my face

Nikki: I like you too

Brian: SRSLY?!!!!

Before I can reply another msg arrives

Brian: Wanna go for a date?

Nikki: Yeah
