8 Chapter 8: The Midget Apple Monsters

V, V for VISIBLE, everyone in the dinner saw him including my brother. So, he can't be a spirit. I continued walking again after my idea got debunked. How great, I just debunked my own theory. My face went from a surprised birthday boy in his 12th birthday party when his parents gifted him a smartphone, to his parents actually giving him a fake one. I have to start again, but at least I'm not dealing with a spirit. Thank God.

After few more minutes of walking, and few more minutes of making sure nothing's following me, I made it to the bus stop in one piece.

There's not that many people in the bus stop, probably since it's 9:30 am. The great line that's longer than my lifespan is always between 6 to 7 in the morning. That's the good news, but the bad news is – there's no buses coming in. My class starts at 10 am, and it usually takes 15 minutes to arrive at my school and few more minutes because my first class is at the 6th floor and the elevator is broken again – always broken. I probably only used that elevator twice this semester.

I sat on the bench impatiently waiting for a bus to arrive. Even though I'm used to being late, I can't be late this time because my first class is Biology. I don't want to be stuck outside again for 2 hours, for the third time, three weeks in a row.

After silently crying inside while waiting for a bus to arrive, I heard the woman next to me spoke something on her phone, she's wearing a police uniform, she might be a policewoman, of course she is captain obvious. I stared at her direction. Even though I wasn't exactly looking at her face, I can tell that her conversation with the guy on her phone is very serious. Hey, don't get me wrong, I wasn't eavesdropping their conversation. Well, at least not intentional. I focused my attention on their conversation, completely ignoring the guy behind me snoring. It was about an accident involving a bus and a truck. The accident caused a traffic, and that's why the bus will be late.

I feel like my whole world just crumbled to pieces, just like the spirit dimension or whatever that was in my dream last night. My whole world crumbled including my attendance and my grades. As time passes by, more and more people are waiting which means, it's going to be a one hell of a fight for the bus. And the aura of the people waiting are looking more and more like an apple. Everyone was complaining about the bus not arriving yet.

Ten more minutes has passed by and the bus station is now looking like an apple farm. Imagine, walking in an apple farm, staring at the beauty of every apples. You feel like the apples are calling for you. The apples want you to pick them. Apples.

But the moment you touched one, they grew small feet and legs. They jumped off from their trees. The small leaf on top of them turned into a big red eye. They grew fangs that is sharper than the deadliest among all vampires and they were screaming. "WHERE THE HELL IS THE BUS".

That's exactly what it feels like, in my situation. I am surrounded by midget apple monsters complaining about the bus. And if the bus doesn't arrive soon, I might turn into one of them. I don't see my own aura, but I don't need to see mine to confirm my apple transformation.

Time check: 9:58 am. The bus finally arrived. The hunger games of the midget apples monsters has started. Luckily, I seated on the nearest bench to the bus which means I just have to go nitro mode to the bus. But this bus also needs to go nitro mode if I don't want to be late.

I sat next to the window and I can see very well all of the people that didn't make it. The snoring guy behind me has passed out on the ground. Poor guy, I probably should've given him my seat earlier. He might look that terrible but he's still alive and fine. I can see it in his aura, he just need a lot of sleep. And the rest of them? They're so not happy about it. Well, since I was one of the first ones, all I can say is. Better luck next time.

As the bus gone off, I took a sigh of relief, well not really since I was still going to be late. Maybe it's more like, a sigh of relief turned into a sigh of acceptance that I was going to be late again for the fourth consecutive week. Yay, new record.

Looking through the window of the bus, I saw cars, buildings, people walking, birds and trees. Even though it is a city, there's still many plants and trees everywhere, one of the reasons why I love this place. I wish I could just shut down my ability for a minute and enjoy the view from the window. I could also see the traffic on the other road due to the accident. I'm a little worried since that's the road to my uncle's workplace. He's such a hardworking person, raising three boys on his own. Raising one of us is already difficult imagine raising three.

But going back to the accident, it is usually uncommon for car accidents to happen here in our city. It is quite suspicious to have two major accidents to happen in 2 days. Are people being more reckless lately? Or it is just pure coincidence? Anyway, I don't really want to think much again. I just want to relax for 10 more minutes before I get scolded again for being late.

10 minutes has passed by, and I almost fell asleep. I didn't drink coffee or ate an apple this morning so I'm a little sleepy today. And for those who are wondering, apple does help you wake up in the morning. It contains a natural sugar called fructose, which can naturally help you wake up in the morning. It's not as good as coffee, but one should do the trick and it even comes with a bunch of health benefits. Like what they always say, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" and, "An apple a day keeps your mind and body awake". I know, I just made up the second one but you get it.
