3 Chapter 3: The White Aura

When you thought the crowd inside the café was terrible, wait until you go outside. It was a train wreck, or maybe should I say, bus wreck. There was a bus accident outside near the café. There were many reporters, policemen, students who probably just left school and random people who just wanted to take a peek. There were a lot of blue, violet and the scariest one – black auras. Even for someone like me who has trouble understanding human emotions, it's still hard to look at these people crying and mourning over losing a love one and looking at the dying auras of the victims. Whenever somebody is dying the color of their aura dissipates and slowly transforms into a black one. Once the color of the aura turned fully black it means that the physical body of the person is dead. And once the aura completely disappeared it means that the soul has already left. What happens after that? Nobody knows.

After seeing that accident, it reminded me of my dad. It was his 9th death anniversary today. I promised to him that after the dinner, I would visit him and bring him his favorite flowers.

As I was walking to the bus stop, I felt like something is going to happen. I am not sure if it's good or bad, but something is definitely going down. I stopped for a moment to look around, I saw nothing different. Everything looked normal, but something is really telling me to not go to the restaurant. But my uncle already planned this for weeks now so I can't quit now. Besides, it's my birthday. I can't be absent in my own celebration.

After a few moments of walking, with all of my senses on full alert, I finally made it to the bus stop. Surprisingly, there were not that many people there. There's usually a whole bunch of crowds in here at this time around but I should hurry, they might appear here soon, and I hate crowds.

It's not that hard to find Jacob at the bus stop. First, there were lesser people here than usual and second, he always has this red orange aura on him. It rarely changes, it almost seems like he only has two emotions. It's a conspiracy theory, don't tell him that please, he might not share me his Nutflix account ever again.

I waved my hands at him, trying to catch his attention. I felt like I was at the airport again, looking for my uncle whenever he arrives from his business trip, except this time I wasn't holding a cardboard with his name written and my brother was not really excited to see me. After few seconds of calling out his name and looking like an idiot, I finally caught his attention. He looked at me straight dead with his cold blue eyes, giving me a death stare. The moment he gave me that look I felt my feet telling me to go back, but his aura turned dominantly orange so I should be fine. "You finally arrived", he said while still giving me that death stare. "I'm sorry I didn't reply. Should we go now?", I said the last sentence in an energetically happy tone hoping that it would listen up the mood a bit. He stood up with his arms crossed, looked around a bit, he looked like there's also something bothering him before saying, "Yeah, lets go before this place gets crowded and I'm hungry".

We sat at the second seat behind the driver. It was 6:15 in the evening, dinner starts at 7 so we should be fine. The sun is slowly disappearing, the clouds look like an orange cotton candy and there were birds flying and circling in the sky. I'd say we were lucky to have a nice seat in the bus to see the beautiful sunset. Inside the bus my brother and I talked a lot about stuff, school, classroom dramas, tv shows, the incident that happened earlier and other normal brother stuff like Jensen stealing his clothes and him stealing his socks in return. After a lot of talking, we finally arrived at the station. We still have to walk for 2 minutes to arrive at the dinner, but 2 minutes is no minutes to me. Jacob sent dad a text message to wait for us outside because neither of us wants to talk to the waiters.

Few meters within the arriving at the dinner, we saw dad waiting outside looking at the street performers. There was an event there, there were street performers, a huge crowd watching them and bubbles – a lot of bubbles. Their auras looked like the sun in the middle of the afternoon and it looked great since it matches the yellow brick road design outside the dinner. "Hey, I am here", uncle smiling at us and doing the airport thing again. Of course, I also waved my hands and did the airport thing while walking in a faster pace than Jacob to his direction. I'm not sure if Jacob was distracted by the street performers or the bubbles constantly popping in his face, honestly, it might be from the bubbles because his aura is going reddish again. I grabbed him in his left arm and ran to uncle.

"Look at that, my two boys are looking great today", uncle said. "I mean, what do you expect from us", I said in a sarcastic tone. "He's not talking about you though", Jacob interrupted my moment. Uncle laughed at us then gave me a hug, "Happy birthday my angel. Are you guys hungry? Shall we go now.", uncle said while pointing his arm at the entrance of the dinner looking like a proud student showing off his science fair project that eventually gotten a C minus.

The inside of the dinner looked rich. There were chandeliers probably more expensive than my life hanging from the ceiling, the temperature is cool, the ambiance is very intimate, it has a nice view of the city and the architecture of the place was exquisite. I felt like I was in Venice even though I've never been there before. We were greeted by the waiters, uncle greeted them back, I awkwardly smiled, and Jacob gave them a death stare. T

he dinner is positioned in a higher elevation, so the view was great. We went to the third floor and we were greeted by the abstract paintings. They were probably costly so I'm staying as far as possible from them, so I don't get to pay anything incase there's a dent or any damage done to them. Before we get to seat in our table, uncle and Jacob decided to use the comfort room, so I was left alone to find Jensen and our table.

The third floor is quite big, so I did what I call as aura dive. It is when I look for someone by their aura. Jensen is a very loud and excited person, so his aura is always yellow. I scanned the area looking for a yellow aura and it's hard because almost everyone has yellowish orange aura, except for the lady who accidentally bumped by the innocent waiter. The drinks spilled on her dress and now she looked redder than my apple, both her aura and her dress. As I was getting distracted by the lady, I also bumped into someone. How fun was that? now someone is going apple on me too. His phone fell in the ground, I'm hoping it doesn't have a crack because it looked expensive. I grabbed his phone, and before I could give it to him and apologize, the craziest thing just happened. I saw a pure white aura enveloping his body.
