19 Arrival in the Capital

It has been over a week had passed since the strange aura appeared in the empire. The emperor and other powerhouses in the empire already sends their men to investigate it. But apart from investigation, they were all here to 'find' the so called treasure that the patriarch of the Bai family talk about in the meeting.

The reason he agreed to this old man was because he find it amusing and wanted to watch what will this old man do. But before he could give the spiritual stone, a young lady appear wearing ragged clothes. Although she has a skinny body a sign that she was not eating properly, her eyes were lively.

The young lady turn to look at Ye Yun and she showed a troubled expression on her face. Seeing Ye Yun and the clothes he was wearing, the young lady thought that he must have came from a rich family. The blood on her face immediately drained and kneels in front of Ye Yun and said, "This young master, please forgive my grandfather as he was only doing this so that we can have something to eat. Please young master forgive him! I promise that this will never happen again"

Seeing that his granddaughter is kneeling in front of the man with teary eyes. The old man also stands up and went beside his granddaughter and pull her up, "Why are you kneeling in front of him. You didn't do anything wrong, I am the one who decided to scam people. So why are you begging for me. Didn't I tell you before that the rich people in the capital are the one taking moneys from us poor people. They are using their power and bully us. Why is it wrong for me to take our money back by scamming them" The old man reprimanded his granddaughter who was still kneeling. The grievances that he was feeling suddenly came out of his mouth. His expression was of that anger and injustice.

Behind his mask, Ye Yun was smiling watching the two in front of him. The old man definitely didn't let him down, he presented a very good show for him to watch. Ye Yun could feel that the granddaughter of this old man is really scared and the words she said were true. Although the capital of the empire seems to be a wonderful place to live. That is only if you have the power to protect yourself. There will be always people who will take advantage of the people who doesn't have any power.

"How about this, I just arrived here in the capital today and I don't know many places here. Why don't you let your granddaughter accompany me around and I will pay you handsomely" Ye Yun said as he stopped the old man.

The young lady and the old man stares at Ye Yun with puzzled expression. The old man look at his granddaughter and though, 'My granddaughter is so thin, and her face and clothes is covered in dirt. She definitely is not someone beautiful, but why is this young man wanted to make my granddaughter accompany him'

The young lady was also thinking the same thing as her grandfather. She didn't know why he would choose her to accompany him in the capital as there are several people doing that as a job. But noticing that the man was willing to forget about her grandpa planning to scam him she said, "Ok, but I don't know if I could really help you"

"Alright, let's go now" Ye Yun handed a small pouch towards the old man and said, "This is my payment for this. I will give another payment later after your granddaughter accompany me around the capital"

Without waiting for the old man to replied, Ye Yun started to walk away. The young lady also wake up from her stupor and followed beside him.
