6 I Would Like to Make a Bank Account

The first floor was a busy town. People of all shapes and sizes, mostly humans and some monster hybrids. Wide streets, somewhat tall buildings, mostly for business. From the gate that I teleported in front , I walked down the main road. The longest road that goes right down the middle of the town. I saw many unfamiliar people with all sorts of equipment. I could tell that they were certain roles and classes just by the look of their equipment.

A staff or wand with light armor meant they were some kind of mage. If they carried health potions they were attack or support mages. If they didn't they had to be healers, or just stupid. Big swords, axes, or some kind of huge blunt weapon with the occasional heavy armor indicated they were a tank. Any light armor would give a hint of whether they were speedy type of fighter or not. Big weapons aren't really effective with light armor since it weighs you down a lot, this is the best way to maximize speed.

Me, I am an all rounder adventurer. If I'm going to go up the dungeon without a party, I need to fill in all the roles of a party. Strategist, Tank, Support, Healer, and Sharpshooter. I researched as much as I can about the dungeon to maximize the effectiveness of my strategies. I built up my body to become faster and maintain most of that speed with the heavy duty armor and blunt weapons.

I will craft powerful potions that can help me out in a pinch, this will hopefully fill my support and healer role. Since I cannot use magic, potions are the only thing I can really use. Lastly Sharpshooter, I will need to buy a bow to have some kind of ranged attack, and before I buy a bow I need to make a bank account.

As I walked down the main road, I looked for the bank. I also got a few glances on by some adventurers. They whispered to each other and avoided any interaction with me. I could hear some of them whisper, "His left eye is white. Is that an actual White Eye?" I paid no attention to it and kept walking, sooner or later I finally found the bank.

I entered it with no hesitation, there were a decent amount of people in there, about 15 or more. Only two people were in line, the rest seemed to be sitting down all over the bank floor, playing around with their own equipment. From the entrance I walked up to the line, as I did I could hear someone angrily sigh, "None of this is as valuable!"

At the back of the line I patiently wait for the man two spots ahead of me to stop arguing with the bank teller.

"Why can't I just have my money woman!"

"Sorry sir, but you set your money to automatically pay for your rent monthly. Now you are in debt for not depositing any money for two months straight."

"Debt! I've been doing nothing but get money!"

"Really? Where did that money go? To the bank or the bar sir? Would you like me to pull up what you owe to the bar."

The man's face turned pale, "What I owe?"

"Yes sir, your tab."

The woman turns around opening a single cabinet, it shines with magic as she reaches in there and takes out a long sheet of paper. She adjusts her glasses and begins reading the long sheet of paper.

I am amazed that she could even do this as both of her eyes were closed.

"You owe exactly 50,000 gold to the bar, and 20,000 gold to the bank. Based on you being in the Adventurer's Guild, at least 3 of the recent quests posted should be enough to pay for both. Unless you want to get sent to the mines of course."

The man became even paler, "Not the mines. Never the mines! I'll go accept some quests right now."

The man stormed out of the bank, the person in front of me stormed out as well. They must have built up some kind of debt as well and wanted to still get some money out.

I've heard of the mines before in books and conversations with the local adults at my village. Apparently....

{MINES - If someone is in debt for too long and do not pay it off within three months they will be sent off to the Mines to mine the same value of gold as their debt.}

"Oh! Are you a new adventurer sir?"

I nod my head and show her my ID. She reads it for a second, looks me up and down, then smiles. "Usually White Eyes aren't new adventurers, you must be a special case to become a White Eye so early in the dungeon."

"What is a White Eye," I ask tilting my head.

The bank teller ignores me instead she faces the other people in the bank. "The bank is closed, everyone leave!" She turns to me, "You don't leave," she turns back to the other people who have started leaving one by one, packing up their stuff. I turn around, confused at the speed of everyone leaving. Within seconds I was the only one left in the bank. "The hell is going on? All I wanted to do was make a bank account," I say turning back around to the bank teller who has mysteriously gone missing.

"Rex Tamashi, come back here please," the bank teller appears behind a curtain that has suddenly appeared behind the counter. I jump over the counter, walking into the curtain where the bank teller has retreated back into. The room past the curtain was almost completely dark. The only source of light was a floating fire ball above a round table in the center of the room. The room wasn't big, about the size of an average bedroom.

From the little light I had I could make out a figure of a man sitting down on a stool or small chair of sorts. I could also see the bank teller behind the man. He stretches his arms over the table, opening himself up to me. "Hello there! To think I would find another White Eye."

I squint my eyes, "Another," I ask.

"Yes! Another!"

He brings his arms together, picking something up from his lap. It is a mirror, I could tell from the fact that he directed it to me. In the reflection of the mirror, I looked at myself.

"Why the hell is my left eye white?"
