17 Xie Xie's Confrontation

    The next few weeks were uneventful. That is, if you rule out the awkwardness between

Tang Wulin and Gu Yue.

    After their little moment that night, Gu Yue would intentionally avoid Tang Wulin. And when they needed to be together, she tried her best, not to interact much, and completely avoid eye contact with Tang Wulin.

   Tang Wulin was having similar issues. He would occasionally stutter a bit, when talking to Gu Yue. And like Gu Yue, avoid eye contact with her.

   When they don't have anything important to do, they go to their respective organizations, The Spirit Pagoda and the Tang Sect. This drew the suspicion of others.

"What's going on with Captain?", Xu Xiaoyan whispered to Xie Xie, who was sitting beside her, during a discussion for battle armour, along with Xu Lizhi and Ye Xinglan. Although the discussion was going smoothly, it couldn't was the atmosphere between Gu Yue and Tang Wulin, who were completely avoiding each other, despite sitting side-by-side as usual. It wasn't the usual cold aura around Gu Yue, or the serene presence of Tang Wulin. It was completely an awkward atmosphere, but no one wanted to speak up about it.

"I have no idea", Xie Xie admitted.

"Should we talk to them?", Xu Xiaoyan asked as she glanced at the pair, the boy discussion with Ye Xinglan, the girl simply listening and adding her own few points in between.

"You talk to them! I don't wanna get beaten up by either of them!", Xie Xie whisper yelled, freaking out a bit.

"Well, that concludes the discussion ", Tang Wulin said as he got up to leave. He didn't speak more and walked out.

   Gu Yue, Ye Xinglan and Xu Lizhi also went out soon after.

"You talk to captain, while I talk to sister Gu Yue ", Xu Xiaoyan said.

"I am. Not. Signing up. For this suicide mission!", Xie Xie declared. Although he knew Tang Wulin wouldn't bully him often, he is scary when pissed him of. Their first encounter was always a trauma for him. Tang Wulin frigging threw him out of the window, with zero hesitation!

"Plea~se!", Xu Xiaoyan said with her innocent puppy look. It was her Trump card inorder to convince others. Even Gu Yue fall victim sometimes, so who was Xie Xie?

"Your acting skill is too good ", Xie Xie sighed as he walked out, bracing himself for the worst that could happen.

   Meanwhile, Tang Wulin was already out of the main gate. His physical prowess was already best among his peers but now, when no one was watching, he teleported to the academy gate, and walked away, lost in his thoughts.

'What the hell his wrong with me? It's not like I don't know her! Hell, I even done it with her, abliet, in my previous life. But why am I so awkward after just a hug?! And why is she so awkward? It wasn't much different from me carrying her on my back right?', these thoughts flooded his mind as he walked on towards Tang Sect. The Amorous doulou offered Tang Wulin a driver so that it would be more convenient, but Tang Wulin declined as it would be too eye-catching.

"Boss! Wait up!", Xie Xie's scream came from behind as Tang Wulin walked. He ran at his top speed in order to catch up with Tang Wulin.

"How are you so faster than an agility type like me?!", Xie Xie asked defeated.

"Nah, you are just too slow. You should work on that", Tang Wulin said, as he walked, without glancing at Xie Xie.

"Don't just downright insult me!", Xie Xie protested, which Tang Wulin ignored.

"Well, what are you doing here? Should this be your 'chase after Yuanen' time?", Tang Wulin asked as he glanced at him.

"I needed to go to Tang Sect as well", Xie Xie said, unfazed by Tang Wulin's light tease.

"And I am supposed to believe that? ", Tang Wulin raised an eyebrow.

"Fine, I'll cut to the chase then, ", Xie Xie sighed as he continued, " Boss, what's the matter between you and Gu Yue? "

"Nothing much ", Tang Wulin said, as he walked forward.

"Like he'll I'd believe that! Did you two have an argument? ", Xie Xie began speculating, but then his eyes widened when he looked like he just had a great realisation, "Don't tell be you did something shameful with Gu Yue boss?!".

    At this, Tang Wulin paused his steps and asked without looking back, "Xie Xie? Are you feeling nostalgic?"

"Huh? No, why?", Xie Xie responded, not sure what Tang Wulin meant.

"Because I feel like you are missing what happened during our first encounter ", Tang Wulin turned around with handsome smile.

   But this smile sent shiver down his spine. All these years, he knew Tang Wulin well. Among class zero, his understanding of Tang Wulin is second to only Gu Yue. And one thing about him is that, the more sincere and handsome Tang Wulin smiles, the scarier his thoughts get.

   And how could he not remember their first encounter. Tang Wulin threw him out of the window because Xie Xie stepped on blanket his sister gave him.

"Boss, I was wrong?! ", Xie Xie begging

"Then stop with your bullshit and let's go! And as for what happened with Gu Yue, don't worry about it. It's nothing serious ", Tang Wulin dismissed the topic as he walked away.

   But what Tang Wulin didn't know was bring Xie Xie along was a big mistake!

  When they arrived at the HQ, not only did Xie Xie see every staff greeting Tang Wulin with great respect, but also asking his opinions on some matters he had no idea what.

"Boss, what's going on?", Xie Xie asked, a little stupefied.

   That's when Tang Wulin realized, Xie Xie was still with him. Looking at all the reports he was given, he completely forgot Xie Xie's existence! We couldn't help but facepalm at his own carelessness

"Well, let's talk somewhere else", Tang Wulin sighed, as he walked on. He took Xie Xie to a spacious room. The room had three sofas, each could seat three people. Facing these sofas, was a large enough screen, that filled two third of the wall it was attached to. And in the middle, was a table, big enough to reach the sofas

   Tang Wulin sat on a sofa, still reading the reports on a tablet that was handed to him. Xie Xie was admiring the room as he sat opposite to Tang Wulin. In his three years, he had never been here. Being an outer court disciple, his knowledge of the Tang Sect and his access to facilities were limited. But he never expected Wulin would have such special privileges

"So you wanna know what's going on?", Tang Wulin asked, still looking at the reports. Xie Xie could only nod, too stunned to speak.

   Tang Wulin looked up, and he placed the tab on the table, closing it. "I am assisting the Vice Sect master I'm managing the reports ", Tang Wulin said seriously.

"You're doing what?!", Xie Xie screamed. Luckily, the room was sound proof, and so the noise was kept within the room, or else, the entire HQ would have heard the scream.

"Shut up!", Tang Wulin released his pressure, causing Xie Xie to quiet down. He immediately sat up straight and his mouth was zipped tight. One of his biggest fear, even scarier than his fear of Gu Yue, is getting his boss mad. His boss single handedly took down a spirit fusion skill, three years ago because he got angry. Although Xie Xie was unconscious that time, because he was the one who go hit by the fusion skill, he heard that the other two students even more injuries than him, despite teacher Wu stepping in.

   This made one thing clear for Xie Xie. No matter how nice Tang Wulin behaves, never make him angry!

"Good ", Tang Wulin said, as he saw Xie Xie was quiet now. "I am only helping out. It's no big deal. And don't you dare go around spouting about this. I will tell them some other time. Am I clear?"

   Xie Xie nodded his head vigorously. Just then, a knock was heard.

"Come in", Tang Wulin said. The door opened and a woman in her twenties walked in.

"Mr. Tang, this is the file you've requested. Those two you asked us to find, I sent it to you ", she said as she was checking the tab in her hand. Then, Tang Wulin's tab on the table, lit up.

"Thank you. You may leave now ", Tang Wulin said. His voice wasn't to assertive, but the sense of authority was evident in it.

   The woman didn't say anything. Just bowed and walked away, but her mind was still filled with a question?

'How does a 13 year old boy have such commanding presence? No wonder the Vice Sect master treats him so well!'

"Xie Xie, you go back now, I won't be returning to the dorm today. I'm busy. Tell others I got some work in Tang Sect, and don't anything else to anyone ", Tang Wulin said as he walked up to Xie Xie. He placed his hand on Xie Xie's shoulder.

"But boss-", Xie Xie was about to speak up, but the next second, he found himself outside the Tang Sect HQ.

'He could use the soul bone teleportation to such extent?!', Xie Xie asked himself in disbelief. Tang Wulin was able to send him out of the Sect so easily, this proves how strong his mental power is. His sense is able to reach even till such distance. Xie Xie could only stand their dumbfound.

'I feel like I don't know him anymore ', he thought, as he let out a dry chuckle. Now he understood what Tang Wulin meant, when he said not to tell 'anything else'. That didn't just include his position, but also this.

'If boss let me know of this matter, that means he needs me later, and others can't know yet. So all I could do is wait ', Xie Xie speculated, as he walked off to Shrek.

"I guess he figured it out", Tang Wulin said to himself. He was observing Xie Xie when Xie Xie was standing outside. With his spatial awareness and spiritual power, he could easily sense Xie Xie. And with his current fourth stage of purple demonic eyes stage- boundless, he could see him clearly. "I need your help friend. Not yet, but soon. When the time comes, only you could help me get all of us stick together. So be patient,

   With that, he glanced at the tab, in which two faces were displayed, and their information was given.

"I must gather some old allies too. But not yet"
