2 Gate of Fate

Elijah looked at them with pity, he felt sorry for them.

"There is nothing you can do, many tried to talk with them but....they are truly lost. It's like we don't exist for them." Said the man, his voice sounded sad.

"Shouldn't there be more people here? I mean there are so many deaths on Earth every day." Wondered Elijah.

The man shrugged, "That should be the case but it seems like not everyone ends up here. And those that do become like that or they move on."

"They move on?"

"Yes, most do."

"How?" Asked Elijah.

The man stared at Elijah for a long time.

"Follow me...." The middle aged man started to float away.

Elijah started to panic. He didn't knew how to move around without his legs, but his body moved on its own when he thought about following the middle aged man.

He was surprised, he floated behind the man, following him through the ruins.

His eyes bulged when they arrived not far from a gate.

Elijah had never seen such a gigantic gate before.

It was massive, made of dark stones. There were many statues of demons and other creatures on the gate. They were low relief. Two enormous demons towered on two mighty pillars in front of the gate. They had skeletal faces with horns coming out of their heads.

Elijah frowned deeply, this place gave him goosebumps.

'What is this place?' Thought Elijah.

"The Gate of Fate...." Said the man who seemed to read his thoughts.

"Gate of Fate?" Asked Elijah.

"Yes, that's what it is called. The people who move on go through it...."

"What is inside it?"

"No one knows because no one has ever came back...." Answered the man with a complicated expression.

Elijah noticed someone heading to the gate, his eyes widened, 'Isn't that!'

He recognized that person, it was the youth that jumped in front of the white truck.

The youth floated to the Gate of Fate, suddenly the gate split into two, opening a bit.

A bright blinding light shot out, illuminating the ruins.

Elijah observed everything with his eyes, wide opened.

The youth stopped for a moment, he turned around, staring straight into Elijah's eyes though his glasses. He smiled at him before facing the Gate of Fate, vanishing into the light.

Elijah felt excited for some unknown reason.

"Reincarnation...." Murmured Elijah.

The eyes of the middle aged man beside him lit up for a second when he heard Elijah's words.

"Will you move on?" Asked the man softly.

Elijah fell silent. His gaze focused on the Gate of Fate.

He started to float slowly towards it, his eyes filled with determination.

The middle aged man closed his eyes, a knowing smile appeared on his face.

Elijah's long red scarf waved behind him, despite no wind movement.

He felt like an ant in front of the Gate of Fate. Something started to flow through him, he looked down at himself and saw his legs and feet were back.

He was wearing the same suit he had before he died. Suddenly a blinding bright light hit him. He put his hands in front of his eyes. The Gate of Fate had opened a bit right in front of him.

He observed the low reliefs on the gate one last time. Reapers, Demons, Angels and strange creatures...they all pointed towards the light.

Elijah took a step forward. The light surrounded him, making him close his eyes out of reflex.

When he opened them again, he could only see darkness.

Everywhere was darkness.

He put his hands in front of his eyes but couldn't see or feel them.

His thoughts became slower and a dizziness assaulted him.

He felt so tired...

He couldn't see anything but he felt how he was becoming weaker every second that passed.

His soul was slowly disintegrating.

It continued until only half of his brown eyes were left.

He couldn't think properly anymore.

Elijah found himself inside a hospital, his eyes stopped disintegrating at this moment.

He found everything familiar and his gaze fell on a youth who was sitting beside a bed.

'I remember....that's me...and that woman lying on the bed is....mom....'

He walked towards them but they didn't noticed him standing right beside them.

"Mom...." Said the younger version of himself with a sad tone.

The lady lying on the bed was his mother and that was the day she died.

"Don't be sad my little light..." Said his mother weakly with a faint smile on her face.

"Mom.....I'm not the light....I have killed people....I'm dark inside..." Answered his younger self.

"That's how war is Elijah, you always had the light inside you Elijah, just the other side of it, the light that scorches people." Said his mother.

"But..." His younger self wanted to refute but he was cut by his mother.

"Soldier, Warrior...it's the same. You have always been like that, that's why you have true friends. They stay with you because they see what you are Elijah. You had that silver spark of light inside you ever since were a little boy. No one is perfect son...but for me, you are." Said his mother weakly.

"Mom...."

'Mom...' Thought Elijah.

She lifted her hand with difficulty, his younger self held into it, not wanting to let go of her despite knowing what was bound to happen.

"Don't ever let your spark die out Elijah, I will meet your father now..." Her voice grew weaker with every word and by the end of her sentence a beeping sound echoed through the room.

His younger self still held her lifeless hand, kissing it while tears ran down his cheeks.

Elijah stared blankly at his dead mother....A silver spark of light lit up inside the deepest part of his eyes.

Suddenly something mystical happened, his half disintegrating eyes opened forcefully with a silver spark jumping out of them.

The silver spark became the sole source of light in midst of the darkness, causing an apocalyptic explosion.

The explosion unleashed enormous waves of energy. His eyes changed from brown to silver.

Elijah entered a very long slumber afterwards.

-----------------------------------

The next time Elijah opened his eyes he found himself inside a room.

He was confused, the last thing he remembered was going inside the Gate of Fate.

'What happened?' He tried to move but found how incredible difficult it was. He could feel his body, everything was there, he just couldn't control it.

'Am I disabled?' That was his first thought after a minute.

He tried to curse out loud but his voice once manly voice was replaced by an immature one. He couldn't stop himself from crying out loud what irritated him greatly.

Suddenly heard footsteps coming closer. Two giants came to his side. They looked at him lovingly. The old woman picked him up.

"Don't cry my cute little grandson, grandma is here for you." Said the old woman lovingly while hugging him carefully.

Elijah's eyes widened.

'Grandson? Grandma? Don't tell me...'

For the first time he looked at his tiny little hands that didn't follow his orders.

'I'm a baby! I really reincarnated! Holy sh*t, that Otaku was right! Hahaha what a crazy b*stard!'

He was so happy that he started laugh.

"Look dear, Elijah looks so happy." Said the old woman proudly.

The tall old man with a full white beard and a scar on his left eye laughed out, "Hahahaha of course he is happy, let me check his condition."

The old woman nodded, letting the old man touch his tiny hand.

Elijah felt a warm energy enter his body, surprising him greatly.

'Wait what is he doing to me?' Thought Elijah confused.

His body shook suddenly. Elijah felt like something deep inside him exploded out.

His view changed dramatically, he saw a rainbow like energy floating everywhere around him.

It looked magical.

His gaze drifted through the room in wonder.

It was only when his gaze turned to his new grandparents that his eyes shook.

His eyes widened in shock. There was a phantom of a strong, majestic looking horse galloping happily above her head. Her body was filled with an almost transparent energy that made him wonder.

The same was with the old man, there was a phantom of an overbearing tiger that breathed out silver flames from its mouth, roaring above his head. Silver, hot energy that felt many times stronger than the transparent energy filled the body of the old man.

Elijah felt how his eyes starting to hurt and a scorching pain assaulted his mind before he fainted.

Both grandparents became shocked too. They saw how his once green eyes changed into silver, the gaze of Elijah froze their bodies and shook their souls.

The old woman glanced at her husband, "Dear! Was that...?"

The old man stopped probing Elijah's body with an complicated expression.

"There is doubt about it, he was born with an Eye Bloodline and a strong one from what I felt. My soul tremble for a second." Commented the old man with a worried expression.

"My soul too...how is this possible? He is only a baby and there are no records of our families having an Eye Bloodline." Said the old woman with worry.

"He should be the first, we need to keep this matter secret at all cost...."

The old woman nodded, looking back at Elijah who was sleeping in her arms with a worried expression.
