Soul Board Premium

A/N: This chapter and the next few will be info dumps, just a heads up.

----------------------

(MC's POV)

After talking for a while with Gramps, he left since he has business to attend to; at first, he had decided to cancel any appointments he had to spend time with me but I told him he shouldn't skip out on his work and that he also needs to prepare a place for me after my discharge.

Only after saying he'd come back in the evening did he finally leave, leaving me all alone to start looking at all the Soul Boards of the doctors and nurses.

What? You thought I forgot about that? Hell nah, I like to get things done and out of the way first before moving on to doing other things.

Anyway, comparing the stats of everyone else to Gramps, I can officially say that my new grandfather is a f*cking monster.

Why? Well uh, because some of these people I've checked don't even have 『Physical Strength』unlocked, and the few that do only has [Strength] 1. Maybe using these doctors as a general reference for strength is not the best idea, but I'd say this is fairly close to the average person considering doctors are still normal people.

There is also the fact that some of them have 0 in [Natural Recovery] and [Stamina] with a few going up to 1, don't even mention the [Immunity] category since the highest one I've seen is 1 in [Disease Immunity] and the rest at 0.

Long story short, the theory is that the average person has 0 or 1 in all stats across the board with the exception of 『Dexterity』, 『Willpower』, and 『Intuition』 that have pretty good stat investments into them like in [Artisan], [Moral], [Memory], [Insight], and [Intelligence] for very obvious reasons.

Even so, the highest I've seen from [Artisan], [Moral], [Memory], and [Insight] are only around 1-3, and from [Intelligence] around 3-5 in Science and Math while the other three are around 1-3.

This just further supports my thought of 5 being around the peak of the normal stats for humans and passing that would be going into supernatural territory.

No, this is just a small sample size; I can't be 100% sure about this claim yet until I can get broader and more varied samples, from all ages, genders, and groups.

Though until that happens, I'll just have to go with what I've got so far as a guideline for now.

Moving on.

I dismissed all the other Soul Boards and only left mine up before mentally tapping on the [+] next to the 『Soul Board』. After, a new semi-transparent screen appeared to the right of the main screen.

=============

『Soul Board+』 [-]

『Point Snatch』 0/5

『Fate Plus』

『Soul Record』

『Hidden Power』

『Item Box』

=============

This one is different from Hikaru's as well, huh?

You know, at this point, I should just expect this kind of thing to happen.

Let's see….. So, two of the Soul Board+ skills are replaced with one skill. 『Unlock Plus』 and 『Divine Connect』 are replaced by 『Point Snatch』.

『Soul Blaze』 and 『Access Plus』 are still here so that's kinda good, I guess. They're very useful…

『Soul Blaze』 - Increases Soul Board's effect by 10%. 0/5

『Access Plus』 - Increases range from which the user can access others' Soul Boards. 0/5

The first one, I don't really need to explain why it's such a great skill. The second is not as great as the first, but still useful to consider since the access range of others' Soul Boards is only 5m right now, yeah I checked that too.

Though, the most useful to have of the three is definitely this one…

『Point Snatch』 - Grants a 1% chance of snatching a stat point from foe when hit, one try per day per target. 0/5

This is what you call a cheat skill, let me explain why.

How the Soul Point system works, is that you would get 1 Point once a year when it's your birthday (for humans) and you also get 1 Point for every time your Rank goes up.

The first way is passive and you can't really speed it up according to Hikaru's memory, though I don't know if you can use something like Time Magic or Time Manipulation to interfere with it, I'll add that to the list of Things I Want to Find Out.

The second way is more of an active thing; to raise your Rank is like raising your level in an MMORPG which is by killing things, the stronger the enemy killed the more your Rank will go up. And, like the leveling system in MMORPGs, the higher your Rank the harder it is to Rank up.

You catch my drift?

Now when I'm still at a low Rank, Ranking up would be easy (I think); however, later on, my Ranks will start to stagnant since I would have to kill more powerful beings to Rank up, maybe in like the first hundred Rank it'll be easy but past that is another thing.

『Point Snatch』 will allow me to gain extra Soul Points from external sources, even if the percentage is a measly 1%, it'll make a huge difference if I have a system set up in the future to steal points from enemies daily for several years.

Plus, this is just the 1st level of the skill, after I unlock past the 1st level maybe it'll go up to 2%, doubling the chances.

Actually, let's find out.

『Point Snatch』 - Grants a 1% (2% next level) chance of snatching a stat point from foe when hit, one try per day per target. 1/5

Oh, I could already see myself rolling in Soul Points after I get a hang of my abilities and start pelting Stray Exorcists/Devils/Magicians with rocks from a distance.

I grinned at the thought of this fleeting idea that just might actually work; I'll at it to the list for now.

Now, should I save the one remaining Point for if something new pops up later or use it now to unlock 『Soul Blaze』 for the extra 10% boost?

After all, I have no idea how to even get more points since it works differently from the Soul Point system, even Hikaru never found out how to gain the points intentionally; the best guess he got is to do something of 'incredible' nature.

What's considered to be 'incredible'? Your guess is as good as mine.

Anyway, let's move on to the other skills that I apparently have unlocked. Hey, I ain't complaining about more free power, alright?

『Fate Plus』 - Grants quest on important moments in the world. [Only way to gain Soul Points (+)]

.

.

.

.

I guess this is the answer I was looking for, scratch my previous thoughts. Though, I'll still refrain from spending the remaining 1 Point for now until I can get a clear idea of what kind of thing I need to do to get another Point.

Oh, there's a [+] sign that just appeared next to 『Fate Plus』, did I just get a quest?

『Fate Plus』 [-]

[First Fate Quest – The Beginning]

Description: Starting anew at the beginning of your adventure within this new world, you must take the first step in your journey to the top.

Objective:

1- [First Blood: Get your first kill]

2- [Encounter: Make your first encounter with the supernatural side]

3- [Tainted Blood: Kill someone hostile of the supernatural side]

4- [Unexpected: ????]

Rewards: 5 SPs and ???

(A/N: I'll be writing Soul Point as SP from now on)

Now, this is what I'm talking about, another source of SP. The redacted part is giving me a bad feeling though like something bad is going to happen if I just sit still and laze around.

I'm guessing it's something dangerous that'll happen in the near future; just the 'Unexpected' part is flaring my alarm bells like crazy.

This fanned the fire within me even more, I feel invigorated to start training with my new abilities right here right now.

I'll leave that thought and the quest alone for now; I still need to finish looking through my other skills.

『Soul Record』 - Grants access to basic memory of slain foe.

I…..don't entirely understand what this skill does. My best guess is, it can give me the memory of those I kill, but I'm not sure to what extent. It could potentially be a good information gathering skill, but I wouldn't know until I've killed something...or someone.

『Hidden Power』 - Completely hides the existence of the Soul Board power from all others.

This one is just great, now I don't have to worry about someone strong (like the Gods) being able to see my Soul Board and try to snatch it from me. I would still have to worry about my Sacred Gear being detected though until I can control Life and Mana Obfuscation to target only my Sacred Gear and not my life force and mana.

Alright, last one. Though from the name, I can already guess what it is.

『Item Box』 [+] - Grants access to a personal sub-space that can store non-living things. Size scales with 「Space」, [Mana], and stats under [Magic].

No need to explain, everyone and their mother knows what this does just from the name and description alone.

Let's just take a look.

『Item Box』 [-]

A 3 by 9 classic M*necraft inventory but blue in color appeared to the right of the 『Soul Board+』 screen. I looked deadpan at the inventory screen and was about to comment on how unoriginal this style was before I noticed something.

"Wait! I have items in here!?"

----------------------

A/N: What if I put my M*necraft bed next to yours? Hahaha, Jk.....

....Unless?
