SMO Chapter 5.2 : Back to Back

LacX waited to see what the wolves were trying to do, and at the same time, plan an escape route.

The Silverwolves seemed to surround the other Light-Blue Wolf. After a few moments, the wind started to blow harder and harder.

The Silverwolves were gathering Wind.

In an attempt to defend itself, the other Wolf started chilling the air, forming Mist, and creating frost particles.

When the Silverwolve finished, multiple Blades of Wind struck forwards, and at the same time, a Wall of Ice was created, albeit pretty thin.

The Wall started to crumble from the Wind, and the Silverwolves started to move forwards.

'Should I do something? I don't know if I should intervene...' As he thought of what to do, one of the wolves spotted him, and redirected his attack.

Jumping down, LacX knew that he no longer had a choice.

Using his New Skill, he made the ground around the Silverwolves Sticky, but for a short amount of time. The Silverwolves started to struggle, and started gathering Wind again.

"Come on, we gotta move fast." He beckons to the Light-Blue Wolf, who seemed to understand, and they both start running at full speed through the forest.

Making it into a small clearing, they both stopvfor a quick rest.

There was a small pond, and a large rock that the Wolf decided to lay on.

"That was tiring. I haven't seen anything use Magic yet, so that was a good experience. Especially that Ice Wall. I guess without enough Water, you can't form Ice very well." LacX drinks from the pond, and takes 2 Rabbits out of his Bag.

The Wolf seems to look at LacX with interest as he gathered Firewood and Common Herbs.

Starting a Fire, LacX takes out a small pot that he purchased before leaving to the Silver Forest.

After Skinning and Preparing the ingredients, he puts water in the pot, and places the Meat and Herbs inside.

A few minutes go by, and the fragrance starts to fill the surrounding area.

Before he started cooking, LacX used a small Deodorizer on the surrounding area, since the Smell would atract more Wolves, or worse.

Finishing with the food, he takes 2 Bowls out of his bag, and pours 2 Portions of Rabbit Herb Stew.

Giving the other bowl to the resting Wolf, LacX sits down on a nearby rock.

Not knowing what was given to them, the Wolf starts sniffing the food, and eventually started eating.

As they ate, LacX decided to Appraise the wolf, since he didn't know what species it was.

As he finished eating, LacX realized that the Frostform Wolf wanted more of the food. Handing them the Pot, they sit in silence until they finished.

Suuco also aquired another new Skill, which was the "Cooking" Skill. The Skill leveled up after he made the Stew.

Finishing the last bit of food, the Wolf brought the pot over to LacX, who then proceeded to wash the Pot and Bowls using Water from the pond.

A few minutes go by, and almost instantly, a blade of wind came charging towards them.

Both dodging, they turn to face the enemy.

It was a Silverwind Wolf.

Not just any Wolf though, this one seemed larger than the rest, and had more power in their Magic, since LacX and the Frostform Wolf managed to just barely avoid being hit.

'Well, this doesn't seem like a fight we could win.' With that thought, the Large Wolf started to gather wind again.

"We need to stop him. I have enough MP to use Sticky Surface, so can you freeze his legs?" He looks towwards the Blue Wolf, and sees that the they were shaking.

They were afraid for their life.

'Thats not good. I gotta think of something fast.' Trying to think, he holds onto the Blue Wolf, and Teleports just before the Large Wolf launched Blades of Wind towards them.

Not knowing what to do, LacX uses Appraisal.

'I don't need that skill right now. I don't even know how to use Magic yet.' After thinking about it, LacX realized something very important.

He couldn't use Magic, but there was someome he knew who could.

Looking at the Shaking Wolf, he decides to try it out.

"Hey, you can make Mist for Ice Magic, right? What would happen if there was even more Mist? Could you make a Strong Ice Magic Attack?" Not knowing what LacX meant, they nod.

"Great. Then let's make some Mist." He activates Frost Mist, creating a small area of Mist around them.

Stunned, the Blue Wolf shook his head, and activated his skill as well.

The Mist started getting Larger, and then started to gather into one place.

When the Frost finished gathering, a thin Needle was formed.

'I guess that's what we're gonna need to work with.' LacX activates Sticky Surface, surprising the Large Wolf, and started running towards him using his Sprint Skill.

The Ice Needle began Spinning, and the blue wolf started looking tired.

"Fire!" The Needle hurls through the air, and into the neck of the Large Wolf. Using the Wound and his Speed, LacX used Momentum Orbital, since only one attack wouldn't be able to pierce the Tough Skin.

Surprisingly, since "Sprint" was still active, the attack did more damage than he though, and actually managed to cut the Large Wolf's Head clean off.

After realizing what happened, he got a notification.

LacX was amazed at his Rewards, but was immediately interrupted by the Blue Wolf.

The Wolf Collapsed.

"Hey, are you alright?" Running towards them at full speed, he takes a few herbs out of his bag.

'It's probably MP Overuse. I don't know much about Magic, but I know that you can overuse MP in an attempt to use it.' Taking a few Menti Herbss from his bag, he feeds them to the Wolf, who then looked relieved after a few seconds went by.

While waiting for them to recover, a question popped into his mind.

'Wait, why would there be a Frostform Wolf in a Forest that has Silverwind Wolves? Shouldn't they live in Colder Areas? Like a Tundra or something?' With his thoughts scrambling through his brain, he didn't realise that the Wolf was awake.

The Wolf, now slighty recovered, decided to follow their savior until the ends of their days. But LacX didn't know that yet.

After a while of resting and searching, he finally managed to find a Full Bloom Wisp Willow, which still had small remains of a Rabbit Corpse.

'Unlucky fellow. The Wolves probably did this. It doesn't seem recent, so I should be fine. Or should I say, We should be fine.' He looks back and finds the Blue Wolf following him.

"You know, you don't have to follow me everywhere. You could go and explore, or hunt some Rabbits. Why did you decide to follow me?" Knowing the exact reason why, LacX picks the Flower from the ground, and puts it in his bag.

The Wolf walks up to him, and bows their head. Not knowing what to do, LacX makes a guess.

"So you want me to give you a name? And let me guess, that would seal the deal, making me your Master"

He has seen this before, in Manga and Anime, but when a 'Monster' is given a Name, then they are Soulbound, making them go into a Master-Servant Contract.

Giving up, he thinks of a name. Out of all the things that have happened, this was definitely the most brain racking for him.

After some thinking, he realized something that was crucial for naming.

"Hmm, lift your Right Paw if you are Male, and the Left if you're Female. I need to know, since I'm giving you a name and all." With that said, the Wolf nods.

She raises her Left Paw.

"Ok, this will make deciding easier."

A minute later, and a decision was made.

"Your name will be 'Mana'."

Suddenly, a Window popped up.

"So with this, you're now my Tamed Creature. That was pretty easy, wasn't it?"

'Yes, it was. However, you can only Tame a Creature if said Creature agrees to it.' LacX stares at Mana, realizing that she just spoke directly into his head.

'Right, that new skill "Tamed Speech". That would explain some things.'

As they finish up, they head towards the Forests Exit.

"Right, I almost forgot. My name is LacX. I'll be in your care from now on."

'And I'll be in yours, Master.'

Leaving the Forest, they had back towards town.
