2 Thorn

I woke up to the sound of running water, seeing a creek when I opened my eyes. I wondered where I am and then I remember last night.

Flying monsters attacked me, calling me a child of a god. I'm not one though. But after seeing the mission to New York, I fear the title was placed on me.

SNORT

A rough snort sounded, and looking over I saw the boar that saved me. Its head was dipped down in the creek as it drank from it. Suddenly my throat stung as a sense of dryness overtook my mouth and throat. I need water.

I move farther away from the boar and got down to scoop some water. I drank it to my mouth and my throat was heavenly cured by it. I rapidly drank more, making my clothes wet from the splashes. As the rippled water cleared, I saw my newfound appearance. It was a kid with black hair dawning a dirty shirt. I look at it blankly, unsure what to feel before going back to drinking it.

I back away from it, breathing a brief sigh of comfort. 'What should I do now? I need to get to New York as soon as possible. I'm being tracked. They can smell me. Wait...'

I'm the son of a god and am being chased by monsters with good senses of smell and need to get to New York to live. Am I in Percy Jackson?

[Hidden Quest Complete: Discover where you are] Rewards: [Map], a compass, two granola bars, and 50 exp.

[System unlock]

I... that's bad. To be transmigrated into PJO as a demigod, I'm always going to be chased and hunted by monsters unless I'm at camp half-blood. This simply sucks balls.

I want to hit something but I didn't have the luxury. I sat up and thought. "Show me the system."

This screen feels my heart with hope. I took out my compass and use my [Minimap] skill.

I look at the notification in surprise before thinking yes. I have no reason not to.

It was interesting the system could absorb things, but I shook the thoughts off. 'I need to get to Camp Halfblood quickly. If I get there I would have all the time to train relatively safely.'

I started to walk East when a loud growl emerge.

...

It was my stomach. I look around, seeing nothing I can eat. Then I eyed the boar. A thought cross my mind about eating it.

'NO!' I harshly cried in my head. 'He was my savior, besides I wouldn't know how to skin it. Suddenly, the boar moved, moving into the forest.

I watch thoughtfully.'The boar brought me to water, it could probably lead me to food!' I quickly follow behind it, following from a safe distance. And surprisingly sooner than expected, I was led to a berry bush. I saw the boar eating one, confirming it was safe. Or at least I hope.

The boat quickly left the scene, and after seeing the coast clear, I made my move. I pluck the red berry out and ate them. They were delicious however they didn't fill me up quickly so I roughly grabbed them from the bush.

SNORT

A familiar sounding grunt breath on my arm, turning I could see the boar staring at me. I froze in shock and fear. The boar was the same height as me, there was nothing I could do. I looked directly into its ferocious eyes, only to notice it wasn't doing anything to me. Why was that?

I started to think this was no ordinary boar when the boar moved its head. It was gesturing behind him. Did it want me to follow it? I slowly got up as it trotted away. Decided to follow it as it was heading somewhat East. There was no reason not to.

'What is it?' I thought, wondering what exactly the boar was. Was it a god? Or a helper of one? I have no idea...

A sound popped out of nowhere and a notification evade my eyes.

Suddenly, the boar charged ahead, smacking dead into a tree. A loud crash emerges followed by a loud thud. A thin, tree branch fell.

I stood stunned at the sudden event, watching the boar grab the branch with its mouth and bring it over.

It drop it at my feet and I picked it up in confusion. Suddenly, I felt a surge of knowledge enters my head. In a burst of excitement, I spun the stick around my body, twirling it as skillfully as an old monk. Two notifications sound revealing the source of this mastery.

[Pole Mastery(Lv Max) has been created]

I stare at the screen in disbelief at gaining two maxed-out skills. Instant weapon mastery huh? This makes me think that I am some child of a war God going off my knowledge of the books.

So I am either a god of Athena or Ares, and I am pretty sure Athena doesn't have a rageful spirit as a boat as one of her animals. That only leaves Ares.

'I guess I am.'

I look at the boar with newfound awe, confirming it did save my life. No long afraid and wary of my savior, I approach them.

"I guess I owe you a thank you," I said, my head rubbing its furry forehead. "My name is...Gareth." Not used to the new name.

"And since you are unnamed... I want to call you Boar but that won't do. I'll call you... Horn." I conclude when looking at their horns.

HUFF

However, Horn didn't seem to take a liking to it. "Wha- um... How about... Thorn then."

Thorn huffed again, but it decided it was better than nothing as they walked off. "Hey!" I called out, running to its side.

We walked through the forest together. It was nice to know someone was watching over me, and for Ares to save me! Unexpected. I don't know how to feel about the guy being my father. He was an antagonist in the main series and tried to kill Percy or get him kill multiple times.

I wonder why a satyr wasn't helping me instead. However, I was thankful to him and Thorn for saving me.

We walked quietly through the forest. Not wanting to walk for hours on end I lean to Thorn and asked. "Can I ride on your back?"

Thorn was truly different from other boars, they knew exactly what I was talking about as it huffed yet again. It bent its knees and lower its head, creating a way for me to easily get to its back.

I carefully saddle on their back and waited for Thorn to elevate, but as so as he did my face was assaulted by a sudden burst of wind. A sense of Deja Vu overtook my mind and I held on tight to the hide of the charging boar.
