29 Awakening

"Bastard!" yelled Reo.

He had veins popping all over his head as he tried to bear the excruciating pain caused by Martin.

It was already hard enough for him to bear the ache, but when he heard Martin's voice, he nearly puked out blood.

The guy was truly vicious, toying with him from the start by commenting on his mediation so as to grab his attention and when he was defenceless, he attacked him and gave him a nice cute bite.

Rolling his arms all over his neck was not enough to bear down the agony caused by the sting. Thus, he rolled onto the ground, trying to ease his suffering.

Ultimately it all went down the drain as the wound keep causing more and more pain as time passed on.

Soon, Reo's eyes turned bloodshot from the strain and even his ligaments seemed to show signs of tearing apart. He knew that if let it remain as it is, then most likely this would be his final day alive.

However, he was no condition to run back to the village and ask for help. In this state of unrest and panic, he heard the burbling sound of the waterfall nearby which Martin was resting.

Without thinking too much, he jumped into the river into which the water flowed through.

He bet his luck on the fact that the burning sensation of the pain could be brought a touch down by the basic nature of water, or so would any person think. But it was his, one of those unlucky days where everything seemed to go the other way.

The water instead of providing a cooling sensation on his body invigorated the flames of agony in his body.

He was now in even more pain then he was before. It could be thought of as if before he was in hell, then now he was in the bottom layer of pitch. His plight seemed to intensify with each passing moment and not being able to handle such intense burn, he fainted.

... .. ...

"Hey Hanabi, you ready for the finals." asked an old man wearing a traditional kimono.

"Um..." nodded the girl.

She was Hanabi standing there in Yukata, traditional Japanese dress with a wood sword tucked around her waist.

"Good. Remember, only you, from the main branch, is qualified for the finals. Hence, understand all the circumstances you must perform the best. Even better than Neiji, you understand?" asked the old man with a cold voice, seeming aloof about the words he was speaking to a 10-year-old girl.

"Yes, father. I understand," said Hanabi.

The man was none other than, Hiashi Hyuga.

Hiashi was generally very stern and strict, as he assigned both his daughters' arduous training and rarely complimented their performance. He also was the one who used the cursed seal to punish his brother and nephew for showing aggression towards the main house.

"Good, now off we go," said Hiashi as both he and Hanabi left the house in order to attend the finals of the Chunin competition which was to be held 3 days later.

"Reo..." whispered Hanabi as her footsteps followed Hiashi's.

... .. ...

# On the other side, at the river.

Reo was unconscious and was drifting to the bottom of the river. Suddenly a sparkling light came out near his heart.

The purple colour of the sparkle faded the colours of the entire surrounding, seeming as though an unnatural phenomenon is taking place at the moment.

The sparkle then extracted out the 3 drops of blood that Martin infused into Reo and merged with them.

After merging the sparkle without a slight change went back into Reo's body as though it was all illusory.

As soon as the purple light went back, Reo's body showed significant changes.

A bright yellow-orange flame lit up around his body. But instead of harming, the flame tried to recuperate the damages done to the Reo's body as the body drifted right to the bottom of the river.

His body was now sitting under the river, with no problem in breathing as the flame was covering all around.

Reo entered meditative state as the flame continued to burn brightly trying to remove all the visible scars after repairing the damage caused.

Time flew by quickly and soon night descended.

Reo was still meditating showing no sign of stopping.

Another day passed as Reo was still busy meditating.

... .. ...

Next Day, at night

Tomorrow morning was the time set to start of finals of the Chunin examination and Reo was still here sitting in his favourite Lotus position while meditating.

Just as the moon came into the centre of the sky, Reo's eyes flicked for the first time in 3 days.

Heaving a deep breath, a voice came out from his mouth, "It feels so good..."
