30 Chapter 30 Cyclops

"Who is this?" Lucian asked while staring at the unfamiliar face. Percy seemed to find it difficult answering that question. "This is Tyson, my friend from my new school...well old school, I'm pretty sure I'm expelled and wanted by the police again." Lucian raised an eyebrow after hearing Percy. It seems like this friend of his just cant stay out of trouble.

"Hello Tyson, nice to meet you. My name is Lucian Amarie, but you can just call me Lucian." Lucian stuck his hand out for a handshake, but Tyson flinched back and hid behind Percy. "Its okay Tyson, he's not going to hurt you. You are suppose to shake his hand, its polite." Percy said as he pushed the big guy. He really was big, I mean really big. He was at least 6 feet tall, and had wide broad shoulders. He had messy brown hair and his face was really distorted, this paired with his crooked teeth made it hard to look at his face. He was wearing what seemed to be gym clothes that were one size to small on the big guy. It was weird seeing someone so big act all timid. There was also one other thing, if you bring yourself to look him in the eyes, you can see that it's not eyes but eye. He had one brown eye in the center of his face, he was a cyclops.

After hearing what Percy said, Tyson changed from being scared to being excited. Tyson grabbed Lucians hand with both of his and started to shake furiously. Lucian was basically being tugged back and forth at the amount of streangth his arm was being shaken with. Tyson seemed to find this fun as he kept shaking without letting go or showing any signs of stopping at all. Percy decided to jump in and help his poor friend out.

"Tyson that's enough!" Percy pulled back Tyson, making him let go of Lucians hand. Lucians right arm felt completely numb now and hanged loosely at his side. "Quite the streangth you got there Tyson. I guess that's responsible since your a cyclops." Lucian tried to stretch his arm but it was futile, he couldn't move it.

"Thank you! That was fun haha!" Tyson's voice was very deep and sounded kind of childish. Percy had a surprised look on his face. "Cyclops? What are you talking about?" Lucian looked at Percy weirdly. "You mean to say you didn't know he was a cyclops? It's as plain as day, he has one eye after all." Percy stared at Tyson in the face and slowly widened his eyes in realization. "Your a cyclops Tyson!" Tyson clapped his hand happily. "Tyson cyclops!" Lucian chuckled. "He seems to still be a baby, given his speech."

"That's enough with the introductions! Lucian, what happened?" Annabeth said sounding irritated and confused. Lucian pointed at Thalias tree. "As you can see we were infiltrated and attacked. Luke came and poisoned the tree, and just now two brass bulls broke in. Luckily they didn't cause any damage."

While Lucian was talking, Clarisse snuck up from behind. "Lucian if your done chatting, help carry the wounded. We need to report to Tantalus!" Lucian rolled his eyes, and looked rather annoyed. "Oh great, Tantalus." Percy and Annabeth seemed confused. "Who is Tantalus?" Lucian sighed. "*sigh*...He is the new Activities Director, Chiron was fired."

""What!?"" Annabeth and Percy shouted at the same time. Tyson jumped back at the sudden noise and Lucian sighed again. "But how can they fire Chiron like that?! He has been training kids for over 3,000 years!" Annabeth seemed to be very vexed at the moment.

"Come, follow me. He should still be here, last I checked he was still packing." Lucian said as he started to lead them to Chiron.

____________________________________________

As I lead them to the big house, we passed by many campers. They were all busy doing something, be it grinding a sword, shooting arrows, or sparring with one another. The camp had turned like a war camp very quickly, but this didn't seem to ruin the little cyclops mood. Everything new he saw he would ask "Whasthat!" While pointing, and making Percy explain.

When we finally got into the big house, we found Chiron in his room listing to his favorite 1960's music. "Pony!" Tyson shouted, gaining Chirons attention which looked offended. "I beg your pardon?" Before I could explain to Chiron, Annabeth ran up to him and hugged him. "Chiron...you cant leave!" Annabeth said with a shaky voice, she tried to hold back her tears. I guess her having lived here for 10 years made her look at Chiron as a father figure, how nice.

"Hello child, Percy. My god have the two of you grown since last year!" Chiron said with a smile. "I already explained to them what has been going on, Chiron." Chiron nodded appreciatively. "Thank you Lucian my boy, that saves me time." Percy seemed like he couldn't swallow this bitter pill. "Is there really nothing that we could do? What if we find a way to save the tree?" Chiron shook his head. "I'm afraid there is none...well there might be one, but that has been lost with time. It is the only source of magic that can revitalize a dying land." Chiron said, making even my ears perk up. "You told me there was no cure." Chiron looks at me apologetically. "There basically is none, since no one knows where it is."

"What is it? I could go find it!" Chiron shook his head quickly. "Absolutely not! You will all stay in the camp, train hard, prepare for everything. You must take care of one another now that I'll be gone." Chiron said as he looked at me. I was upset he wouldn't tell me how to save Thalia, so I looked away.

Chiron smiled as he closed his saddle bag, then turned toward Annabeth. "You and Lucian must stay with Percy and keep him safe. The prophecy-remember it!" Annabeth nodded weakly. "W-we will." Chiron and Annabeth looked toward me, making me roll my eyes. "Fine." I really need to ask Annabeth about this prophecy later. Percy asked about the prophecy but no one answered him.

"Chiron...weren't you being kept immortal because you worked at the camp? If your fired-" Annabeth was asking worridly but Chiron interrupted her. "Swear you will defend percy, swear upon the river styx." Annabeth nodded heavily. "I-I swear it upon the River Styx." The minuet Annabeth finished saying that, thunder was heard in the sky. Chiron seemed to visibly relax, even if just a little. "Very well. While I'm gone I expect the three of you to watch your backs." Chiron said sadly. "Pony?" Tyson said in a whimper. "My dear young cyclops! I'm a Centaur." Chiron clarified as he left his room. Tyson wanted to chase after him but Percy held him back.

"You cant follow him Tyson! He has to leave, it is the will of the gods." Percy said. I clenched my fists untill my knuckles were white. The gods, that's the last time I ever put my faith in them.
