3 Chapter 3 This Is Highschool?

Lucian woke up to an annoying noise blaring in his ear. He quickly got rid of the noise by smashing it to bits, and rose up from bed lazily. He never was one to wake up early, and always slept in. He looked at the source of the noise and was the alarm clock that mother Medusa told him to set.

Lucian sighed and put on some clothes. Mother Medusa said that he has to wear the clothes that she got him, since the current style was different from when she used to roam the earth. She said that she looked at styles on the internet and bought whatever she thought looked good. She had the clothes delivered and I had to go pick it up so that no one saw her.

Lucian then brushed his teeth and put the notebooks in his back pack. He picked up his bag and headed out the door.

Lucian was currently locking his door with the key that the landlady gave him. She taught him how to use it happily, since she got to keep staring at his face. After turning the key and putting it in his pocket, Lucian was about to walk toward the elevator when he heard yelling from across the hall from his own apartment.

A ugly looking man that looked really out of shape came out grasping the back neck of a boy that looked around his age. Behind the two seemed to be the boys mother who was trying to help her son.

"You get off to school you little shit! This is my house and I will not stand you talking back!" Said the fat looking man.

"Gabe stop it! Let him go. Now!" The boys mother was holding the man who's name was Gabe back, trying to help her son.

The man grumbled and let go of the boy, seemingly unhappy that he did not get to hurt him more. Lucian assumed that he was not the boys real father since the woman called him Gabe. Whatever, it's none of my business and eavesdropping is bad.

"Are you our new neighbor?" Lucian was about to head off when he heard the womans voice from behind him. Lucian turned around and looked at the woman. Lucian paid close attention to what the woman looked like. She had dark brown curly hair and was wearing baggy clothes. She looked tired, as she had bags under her brown colored eyes.

"Yes, I just moved in last night. My name is Lucian Amarie, nice to meet you Mrs...?" Lucian said while he extended his hand for a shake. Mother Medusa said that this is how people greet each other.

"Oh no...not Mrs...Just Ms.Jackson, And this is my son Percy." Ms. Jackson introduced her son to me. So his name is Percy. Percy had dark brown hair almost black that went down past his forehead but not past his eyes and was parted to the right. He had blue eyes and was a little shorter than me.

"Nice to meet you Lucian, I'm Percy Jackson. Are you going to Yancy Academy?" Percy said noticing the backpack on my back. He extended his hand for a handshake which I returned.

"Lucian Amarie, and yes. Today is my first day." Percy looked at me and replied, "Dont worry, it shouldn't be so different from your other school."

"This is my first day of school in general. I have been home schooled my whole life untill now." I replied not thinking much of the matter. Ms. Jackson and Percy were at a loss for words. "You have never gone to school before?" Percy asked.

"No. My mother taught me up untill recently, but she decided it would be best if I at least went to school my senior year of highschool. Anyway, do you want to walk together? My mother says I should make friends, hence the whole reason of me being here." I said while walking toward the elevator and pressing the button to call it up.

"You want to be friends?" Percy asked skeptically as he followed me. His mother went back inside and closed the door. I look to Percy and raise an eyebrow. "Why, you dont want to?" Percy rushed to correct himself. "No No No, it's just I only have one friend, who is my best friend actually. So it would be refreshing having another friend."

We heard a ding, signaling the arrival of the elevator. We both get in and press the lobby button.

"Good, your my first friend then." I said as the elevator doors close. 10 minutes later of walking and crossing streets with a bunch of yellow cars going by, we finally get to the entrance steps of the school. On the way to school, Percy was talking to me about his other friend Grover, who is crippled and needs crutches to walk. I personally have never met anyone like that so I am a little looking forward to meeting this Grover.

We go up the stairs which was a little hard, since their were a group of girls that were sitting on the steps, and when they saw Lucian, the frolicked over like metal attracted to a magnet. They did their best to get their way past the horny girls, although Lucian looked like he had been mugged and left in an alley. Percy on the other hand looked fine, other than his clothes being a little wrinkled since he had to suffer some of the attack by just being next to Lucian.

"What the hell?! Does that happen to you often?" Percy looked toward me with a sweaty face. Your tired just from that? He must really not be in shape. "No, but yet again, this is my first time leaving my home." I replied nonchalantly while I fixed my hair and my clothes the best I could.

"Your starting to make me wonder where you lived." Percy answered exasperated. "So what do we do first?" I asked Percy.

"Well, I usually go to the pool since it helps me clear my head. Grover also meets me their every morning, it's sort of our routine." He answered while walking toward the pool area.

After a few twists and turns through the school hallways, we made it to two doors. Percy opened them revealing a swimming pool with no one in it, except for a man sitting down on a chair beside the pool.

"Hey Grover!" Percy called out to the man. So this is Grover? Lucian looked down to the mans feet and saw a pair of crutches on the floor. "Hey Percy, your finally here!" Grover said as he grabbed his crutches and stood up. "Who's this?" Grover asked as we were walking toward him.

"This is Lucian, my new neighbor and friend. Lucian, this is Grover, my best friend and recently my only friend." Percy introduced the two of us. I extended my hand for a shake, but all I got in return was him raising an eyebrow at me and looking at me up and down. I'm confused, did I do something wrong? Does he not like handshakes? But I thought this is how you greet people?
