25 Chapter 25 Betrayed

After Grovers departure, the days seemed to blend into each other. I spent my days training myself, and even climbed the climbing wall without getting burned. Time that I didn't spend training I spent with Piper and my other siblings, even Drew as I felt that everyone deserved a chance. I also spent a lot of my time talking with Thalia, although I did most of the talking.

The end of the of the summer session came quickly, and now it was the final night. We were having one last meal together before everyone had to head home to the real world. The senior counselors handed out the end of summer beads, marking my first official bead. I got a leather necklace accompanied with a black bead with a sea green trident in the center.

"The vote was unanimous, this bead commemorates the first son of the sea god at this camp and the quest that he undertook to the darkest part of the underworld to stop a war!" Luke shouted out holding the bead up high for everyone to see. Everyone stood and cheered for Percy and his accomplishment. Me and Annabeth were pushed to the front to stand with Percy, basking in the glory. I could really get used to this feeling, accomplishment.

The next morning I woke up finding a letter on my nightstand. I opened up and saw that it was from Chiron. The letter stated-

Dear Lucian Amarie,

If you intend to stay at Camp Half Blood year-round, you must inform the big house by noon today. If you do not announce your intentions we will assume you have vacated your cabin. Cleaning harpies will begin work at sundown so it would be best you inform us, or they will get rid of unauthorized items and will eat unauthorized campers.

Sincerely,

Chiron.

Camp activities director.

That's how the letter ended, and was asking me if I was going to leave or not. I did want to stay year round, but I wanted to go and visit mother Medusa. It's been a few months since I have seen her, and I'm a bit worried. I'll inform Chiron that I will spend some days with my mother before coming back.

I spent the rest of the day helping my brothers and sisters pack their clothes in their Gucci bags, and got the cabin cleaned for inspection. After that I went outside the cabin and noticed it was late afternoon already. The camp grounds were completely empty as everyone was packing to go home. I walked around and saw Annabeth packing her clothes through the opened door in the Athena Cabin.

"Your leaving?" I asked getting her attention. She smiled and walked outside meeting me at the entrance of the cabin. "Yeah, I took your advice and contacted my father. I told him I was sorry for running away and that if he still wanted me, I could go home for the year. He immediately wrote back, so we decided to give it a try. They'll be picking me up in an hour."

"Annabeth, that's great! I'm happy you took my advice!...although I'm a bit sad, since assuming Percy is going back to be with his mother. It's a good thing Hades kept his word and released her, but that means I'll be all by myself." Annabeth looked a little sad, as she looked down at her feet. "I'm going to miss you, Lucian." I smiled and give he a hug, making her go stiff. I guess she's not really used to hugs.

"I'm glad your back to normal Annabeth, I thought that you wouldn't talk to me for the rest of my life! After all you avoided me for about a month." I said as I let go of our hug. "That's your fault! After your transformation it was hard to...look at you in the face!" Annabeth said as she faked her anger. "Haha, it's a good thing the pink aura eventually faded. It did take away some of the beauty effects it had on me, but not by much, in fact I didn't notice much of a difference."

Annabeth stared at my face for a while, then spoke. "You should wear a face mask, that way people wont be mesmerized. It can give you some comfort at least, right?" This was actually not a bad idea. "I might give it a try later." Maybe I might be able to get some peace.

My conversation was cut short as we heared a horn and started to hear shouting. "Someone help! Percy is hurt!" A woman shouted while carrying an unconscious Percy. In fact it was two girls, and they were nymphs each holding one of Percy's arms. I immediately go and help carry Percy to the big house, and deliver him to Chiron who started to work on treatment with the other nurses.

We waited for about an hour, untill finally he woke up after drinking some ambrosia. "Percy are you ok?" I asked and Annabeth immediately jumped in. "You idiot." Annabeth actually looked quite worried but was relieved after he woke up.

"How are you feeling?" Chiron asked. "Like my insides have been frozen, then microwaved." Replied Percy. "Apt, considering that was pit scorpion venom. Now, tell me what happened." Percy then started to explain what happened. Luke had betrayed us, and was the one trying to start a war amongst the gods. Percy said that he seemed to be using Ares, but he also said that he is being controlled by Kronos.

"I cant believe that Luke..." Annaveth looked angry and sad, as it seemed that she still held some feelings for Luke, even if they were really small. "I knew it was Luke, after all the Bolt was found in his shield. The only reason we didn't suspect him was because it originally belonged to Ares." Said Annabeth, gaining a nod from me. I did have a feeling that he was bad news when I first met him. It seems like he hates the gods just like my father, hence the reason he idolizes him. Percy kept saying that we had to go after him, but in his condition he needed rest. They also talked about a prophecy, which Percy was able to pick up after some slip ups from Grover. Chiron didn't seem to want to talk about it though.

"I must go to Olympus to tell the gods of Luke's betrayal. I will be back as soon as I can, in the meantime stay in bed." Chiron looked over to Annabeth. "Oh, and dear. When you are ready, they are waiting for you." It seems like her father is here. "Who is ready?" Asked Percy, seemingly confused. I decided to leave the room as I saw they needed some alone time for Annabeth to explain about her family situation.

On my way out I talked with Chiron. "Will everything be okay? With Luke's betrayal, the camp is no longer safe isn't it?" Chiron solemnly nodded. "The campers are able to allow in people who are originally not allowed in, though we do not allow it." So there is a way for monsters to come in. "Now that Luke is a threat, dont you think we need more protection?" Chiron raised an eyebrow. "Do you have a plan?"

"I do. If we allow my mother in the camp, she will be able to provide us with protection, as she is able to petrify monsters." I expected Chiron to immediately refuse, but he didn't. "I hope it wouldn't come to this, but you are correct. I'll talk with Mr. D and inform him about the matter, but you must promise that your mother will not hurt anyone. Or else we will have to take precautions." I nod, giving him my reassurance.

"Good, then go and retrieve your mother. Help with her escort here, as well as explaining the situation to her. Now I must head to Olympus, farewell for now Lucian." Chiron said as he left the house.

It seems like next summer will not be very relaxing.
