Chapter 23 Half-Siblings

Lucian sat on his new bed, waiting for Chiron to come back with his things. It was a little weird, being that he was the only one in the cabin at the moment. Lucian actually quite enjoyed the quietness, but that soon ceased to be as the door swung open and a group of kids his age came in. The boys and girls all dispersed to their own section of the cabin, but soon stopped as they noticed their new member. The boy they saw earlier, the one that even the narcissistic ones thought was more beautiful than them.

Lucian just stood there awkwardly, as he was being stared at. "Haha...Hello. I'm Lucian Amarie, I just moved in here." Lucian gave an awkward laugh and gave a small wave. No one said anything as they kept staring at him, and his pink aura surrounding him. Yep, it still hasn't gone away.

"Hello, my name is Piper McLean!" A beautiful girl said as she went in front of Lucian. Lucian getting a good look at her was able to say that she was one beautiful girl. She had brown skin and brown hair that was in a messy braid. She had two eagle feathers in her braids, giving her a wild feeling. She wore a short sleeve shirt that said 'Camp Half Blood' on it and shorts. Her eyes were a mix of brown and green, but they seem to change color. If Lucian were to describe her, he would say that she was a beautiful tomboyish girl. He actually believed that she would look pretty with no matter what she wore.

"Hi." Lucian found it awkward to talk, given that it was only them talking in the cabin. "So your my new sibling? That's so cool!" Piper said with a smile. "We're not siblings Piper!" A girl suddenly spoke out. She walked to the front, letting Lucian get a better look. She was a tall Asian girl with long black hair. She was also very beautiful but she wore a lot of makeup, which Lucian personally disliked. She had a very bright pink eyeliner on and she smelled heavily of perfume.

Piper turned around and frowned at the girl. "Drew, what are you talking about?" The girl named Drew smiled mockingly. "Our mother may be Aphrodite, but the gods do not have DNA, meaning that we are not related to each other. We would be if we had the same human parent, but none of us do. Meaning that none of us are actually siblings. Also meaning it would be right to date, right hon?" Drew says the last part to Lucian as she winked. Lucian does admit that she is very pretty, but he felt that she was one of the narcissists living here. He also felt something weird when she talked to him, like a sort of pull making him want to agree with her. But it only lasted for a second as it vanished like it was never there in the first place.

"Drew, you may be right about the Gods not having DNA, but that does not change the fact that we are half-siblings. We all have the same parent, DNA or not." Piper said, getting the nods of all the other kids. Personally I had to agree with Piper, but I dont really see them as siblings since I dont know any of them. Looking around there seemed to be 10 girls and 8 boys including me. Although Piper seemed the type of person I would want to be my sibling, she seems nice.

"Oh can it Piper!" Drew spat out, gaining a glaring contest from the two girls. There seemed to be some sort of rivalry here. "Whatever, we have a new brother so we have to get to know him!" Piper seemed to be the one to change the topic. "You want to get to know me?" Piper nodded. "Mhm! Think of it like your cabin acceptance."

And like that Lucian was bombarded with questions from his cabin members. Mostly things about his likes and dislikes, and who his favorite celebrity is. Obviously Lucian did not have one, gaining a few shocked gasps from a few members. I guess they found this sort of thing important, seeing that they have a wall full of celebrity pictures.

"So what do you do for fun if you dont have a favorite celebrity?!" Drew asked. "I either train or work out. I like the feeling of pushing my body to the limit." Many of the cabin members gasped in shock and horror. He liked to work out for fun?!

"There is no need to work out, we already have perfect bodies!" A boy named Remos said. Remos LeDerian is his full name, and was your typical pretty boy. Blonde hair and blue eyes, paired with being pretty tall is what makes him a handsome guy. He is the type of guy who likes to rely on his looks. Lucian actually didn't think he was that bad, other than him being really lazy like most of the other Aphrodite children.

"I like to work out in order to make my body strong enough for combat. After all you never know when a battle will be around the corner." Lucian said, gaining his cabin members to cringe, except for Piper. Piper seemed to be the only one who agreed with him.

"Exactly! Dont you know that people look down on us and call us the useless ones?! They think that since we are not the children of a war god, then we must be weak." Piper said to her fellow siblings. "Oh please! They are envious of us because they are all ugly! They are in love with us, and the men and women who look down on us only wish they could be us!" Drew said rather arrogantly. I guess she may be the reason this cabin is so lazy.

"I agree with Piper, now that I am a member of this cabin, I do not wish to be seen as weak. We should show them just how strong we could be." Drew frowned after hearing me say this. "Oh honey, dont tell me you agree with this tomboy? You obviously agree with me, RIGHT?" There it is again, that feeling. But just like before, it vanished.

"Drew! Are you seriously using your char-" Piper was about to reprimand Drew, but I cut her off. "No I do not agree. Being seen as weak is not something I would enjoy." Everyone seemed shock for some reason. Like if disagreeing with Drew is something only a god can do. Piper also looked shocked but then smiled. "It seems like I'm not the only one with the power to ignore your Charm Speak. Our new brother has also been bestowed with mothers power." Drew looked pissed off and Piper looked rather smug, while I was confused. What power?

Right when I was about to ask, the pink door opened revealing Chiron with my things in hand. "I hope you have gotten to know your brothers and sisters Lucian, I brought you your things so that you can get comfortable and officially settle in." Chiron walked up to me and handed me my backpack and sword. He also handed me a few sets of orange shirts. They were folded up but I could see that they said Camp Half Blood on them.

"You all should get some rest, it is almost time for lights out. Have a good night children." Chiron bade his goodbyes and left the cabin. My siblings all dispersed and went to do their own thing. Thankful to being left alone I started to unpack and get ready for bed. Tomorrow is the day Grover is leaving, so I need to be well rested when I bid him farewell.
