"I'm happy you came to see me in person, Vincent." Mia said before biting her bottom lip slightly and pulling out a soda for me to drink from underneath the counter.

"Me too." I replied with a wink and a little smirk.

"Mia, Letty, why don't you take Vince with you to the store and get the stuff for a BBQ while I bring Keller her up on things." Dom said though Mia was resting her chin on her fist and smiling at me while talking to me.

"Mia!" Dom said, making Mia look at him with some fire in her eyes.

"What Dom? !!!" Mia turned to him and snapped, making Dom chuckle softly.

"I said why don't you and Letty take Vince to the store and pick up groceries for a BBQ." Dom repeated himself but I put my hand on his shoulder.

"Or, why don't you and I go get the groceries? I'm sure Mia is busy and has a lot of things to do here." I said to Dom which made Mia and everyone else look at me with surprised expressions.

"I thought you came here to take the offer I made to you?" Dom asked me and I shook my head slightly.

"I was serious before, I came to see Mia in person without safety glass in the way joining you and your crew is an added bonus…that is if they accept me." I replied to Dom who raised an eyebrow, blew a breath out of his nose before nodding to me in reply.

"How a bout, Vincent and I go grocery shopping and you stay here and take care of the store, and you, I don't need you to stand up for me." Mia said as she walked in front of us crossing her arms across her chest and speaking to Dom before rounding on me and poking me in the chest with her finger.

"Easy there spit fire, I know you can. I wasn't standing up for you, I just figured it'd give Dom and I an opportunity to talk." I joked as I grabbed her finger and brought her knuckles up to my lips and placed a kiss on them making Mia flush slightly, and smile softly at me.

"Damn, homey came to play." I heard Leon mutter to Letty who laughed which made Mia blush.

"Come on, let's go." Mia said to me as she pulled her hand free from mine and reached over the counter to grab her purse.

I looked over to Dom and shot him an apologetic look while he looked back at me with a smirk and gave me a shrug.

"Have fun you two." Letty snickered from where she stood while shooting Mia a saucy wink.

I got into the passenger seat of Mia's Integra GS-R.

Mia started driving down the street before speaking to me.

"So how are you doing for real Vincent? The last time I saw you…you seemed pretty…close to an edge." Mia asked me with cautiousness in her voice as she reached over and grabbed my hand.

Which brought up memories of my predecessor committing suicide in his cell after bribing a member of the infirmary staff to get him a large syringe of synthetic adrenaline, and killed himself just before literally the day before his release date.

"Yeah I'm good, I was just overreacting." I replied to Mia but I felt her hand tighten around mine before releasing it and shifting gear.

"That's good, I was worried you were going to do something to yourself." Mia said to me softly and I could hear her doubt towards the answer that I gave her.

"Nah, figured you or Dom would come beat my ass if I did something stupid." I joked to ease the tension in the car that made Mia laugh.

"Haha, well you're right we would have." Mia replied to me while looking at me and shooting me a smile.

"What about you, last time we talked you were thinking about dropping out of nursing school?" I asked Mia who released a sigh while her shoulders slumped a bit.

"Haa, between running the store and doing the books for the garage and the store, I was just overwhelmed thanks to you and your advice. I stuck with it though and I graduate later this month." Mia replied to me while releasing another sigh as we pulled into a small grocery market's parking lot.

"I'm happy for you." I told her while shooting her a soft smile as I reached over to open my door but Mia rested her hand on my knee making me stop.

"What's up Mia?" I asked softly as I noticed some wetness at the corners of her eyes, making me reach over and cup her cheek, feeling Mia cover my hand with her's.

"I'm worried about you, about Dom and the others…with you here Dom will start going after bigger and bigger targets. and then there's your crew…the MC, what happens when they want a cut?" Mia voiced her concerns while leaning into my touch.

"You don't have to worry about my crew back home or the other chapters as long as I pay my dues and give the MC a portion they won't interfere with what's going on up here they have enough to do…with their own business, and if at anytime you think it's time for us to stop I'll do what I can to convince Dom to stand down." I comforted Mia while stroking her cheek with my thumb while leaning forward to kiss her only for her to pull away just before our lips were about to touch.

'Shit, I thought we were in the moment.' I thought to myself as I worried I might have blown the good feelings and shit between Mia and I.

"I…let's take our time and not rush into anything." Mia said to me with a bit of nervousness leaking into her voice.

"Sure." I nodded to her and could see a bit of hurt flash in her eyes.

"It's not that I don't want to, but…we should wait until things settle down, besides Dom still thinks we're still just good friends…and I don't date my brother's friends." Mia said to me softly though she started to lean in closer again our lips brushing against each other's.

"You're right we should take things slow, get to know each other…and I have a lot to learn about myself out here in the real world." I replied to her while turning my head kissing her cheek opposite of the one my hand was still pressed against her cheek being held there by her own chest while her other hand was pressed against my chest.

Mia smiled at me with a large smile while kissing my cheek as well.

"That sounds perfect." Mia whispered to me before pulling away.
