Prologue

Somnia Terra is the name humans gave to the land of dreams, a massive expansive land filled with dreams and nightmares, every human connects to this land through sleeping or daydreaming. After this discovery, certain groups of humans popped up with the ability to train their connection to Somnia Terra allowing them to live there for extended periods wielding immense power. This ability was shared throughout human society with more and more people living in their fantasy land the Earth became neglected by the general populace and was laid waste to like a dead animal carcass by the controlling powers. Gone was the risk of civilian casualties as they could live on in Somnia Terra permanently even after the last human defected over to Somnia Terra the bombs and wars continued with automated robots now masterless.

At first, the Nightmares and Dreams welcomed the human refugees however all of humanity's dreams of wealth, land and power had been slowly building up in Greed, the dream of wealth and power, and he toppled the previous monarchy and then exploited Humanities fear of Nightmares to use them to declare war on the Nightmares. The once peaceful and happy world of Somnia Terra was at war.

This war lasted 100 years with many casualties however it ended when the leader of the Nightmares Thanato, the fear of death, disappeared. The last standing territory for Nightmares is Night City run by Nycto, fear of the Dark, after making a peace deal with the combined alliance of humanity and dreams the war came to an end.
