Somewhere in the eye of the storm

It's odd knowing that you would have to be a queen before the age of fourteen simply because you were the sole female descendant of the royal family.

Technically, she isn't a direct descendant. She was related to the dark king by blood. She just wasn't a very close relative.

That still didn't change the fact that she would now have to inherit the Dark Throne, her birthright, and her burden. Her honor and her shackle. A one-of-a-kind curse is also a remarkable blessing. It is the case with her unique predicament.

Her great-grand uncle died yesterday, which meant that thirteen-year-old Malai would inherit the throne before she even knew of the consequences of her decisions.

But of course, she won't be alone in this fight. There were others in the chiefdoms, realms, kingdoms, queendoms, and empires who would gather to help her. Because whether she knew it or not, she had a more complicated family tree than most others, and that would come back to bite her.

It would be fine.

At least, she thinks.
