21 Jie Palace

The carriage pulled up to the gates of the palace where the guards only nodded and opened the gates to let them pass. Jie Palace was not a place anyone could enter. Feng Jie did not like outsiders coming in and bothering him. There were many noble ladies that had tried to climb into his bed that all had sad ends. Because of this Feng Jie completely closed his gates to everyone except his mother, Imperial Concubine Su and his father the Emperor, Feng Yang. Even his brothers were not allowed to pass the gates without him being notified first.

As the carriage pulled up to the palace Wu Shuyu drew back the curtain to take a look at the view. She had only seen ancient palaces on TV in her past life. But being able to see one up close was very awe inspiring. Seeing his little thing so happily taking in the scenery put Feng Jie into a good mood as he leaned back in his seat. The carriage finally stopped when they reached the entrance which then Feng Jie got out before turning around and stretching his hand out to help Wu Shuyu down. Wu Shuyu smiled and placed her small hand in his as she got down from the carriage. Qin Ming quickly ran up to stand behind her Young Miss to follow in after her.

The inside of the places seemed to be carved of jade. It was very extravagant. Wu Shuyu could not help but peek at Feng Jie as she thought to herself: 'Such a spendthrift!'

When they entered the main hall a beautiful woman who looked to be no more than thirty years old was sitting at a table sipping on tea while enjoying some pastries. When She noticed Feng Jie walk in a smile appeared on her face as she said: "Jie'er your back!"

Feng Jie smiled as he nodded saying: "Imperial Mother you are already here."

Hearing the words Imperial Mother Qin Ming quickly knelt to the ground. But seeing how her Young Miss did not kneel, Qin Ming quietly said: "Young Miss..."

But before she could finish her words Imperial Concubine Su laughed as she said: "Little Maid in this palace you do not need to be concerned with such pleasantries. This one has heard from Jie'er that you are like family to Yu'er so please quickly stand up."

Qin Ming looked at the beautiful woman then at her Young Miss and only when she saw her Young Miss nod did she get up. Wu Shuyu smiled as she bowed and said: "Princess Xiannu greets Imperial Concubine."

"Why are you speaking so distance? You are Jie'er's fiancee and this one's future daughter in law, just call me how Jie'er does."

"Then daughter in law greets Imperial Mother." Wu Shuyu said with a smile.

"Un! Good! Now come here and have tea and pastries with me. The Emperor specially sent over pastries from the best pastry chef in the capital along with this spirit tea, to have while we had our first meeting. " Imperial Concubine Su smiled as she pointed at the seat next to her.

Wu Shuyu, in fact, did not know Imperial Concubine Su's name. No matter how much she searched her memories she came up with nothing. It seemed the Old Wu Shuyu did not have the ability to learn much of the going ons outside her own courtyard. But this did not cause Wu Shuyu to panic. Feng Jie held her hand and led her over to the table before pulling a chair out for her to sit. Seeing this caused the Imperial Concubine Su's face to show a bit of shock.

Imperial Concubine Su looked up at Feng Jie and pouted while saying: "Why is it that when I come over I never received such treatment from you?"

"That is because you have Father Emperor to spoil you so. If this King spoiled you as well you would walk all over both of us!" Feng Jie chuckled as he sat down. He then proceeded to pour Wu Shuyu a cup of tea as well as placed a few pastiers on to a dish before placing them in front of her.

His actions caused Wu Shuyu to blush. She had never once been treated this way by her past life's boyfriend. So this was all new to her and caused her to feel shy. He was slowly but surely taking up more and more of her heart with every one of his actions. Wu Shuyu smiled brightly as she said: "Thank you..." Her smile alone warmed the whole room. Even Imperial Concubine Su was stunned at how beautiful Wu Shuyu's smile was. It seemed like a flower that had just recently bloomed.

"Yu'er, this one heard the General's Manor had always treated you wrongly because you are unable to cultivate. You do not have to worry about that with Jie'er here, he will always treat you with love and care. He might seem cold on the outside but he is actually a truly warm person to those close to him." Imperial Concubine Su said as she took a sip of her tea.

"Un.. I can tell. I have only known him for a day yet I can tell how big his heart really is. And... Umm... Don't tell that good for nothing father of mine but I am indeed able to cultivate now..." Wu Shuyu did not want to keep the fact that she could cultivate from Feng Jie and her future mother in law.

"Yu'er are you telling the truth?" Imperial Concubine Su was shocked to hear such news. She had someone investigate Wu Shuyu this morning but they said she was a waste that was treated worse than a servant!
