Bitter Goodbye

Monica storms off from her guest in some unknown area of her massive home.

It takes everything for Jill and Sheri to not cackle at her childish dramatics.

The Henry's takes this as their cue to leave as well and Mark smiles weakly being left to escort his guest out alone.

As they leave the lovely villa thanking Edna for he lovely meal, Sheri couldn't help but wonder how often does Monica embarrass Mark like this. She knew as his lady she would never behave like that.

Sheri shook the thought out of her head as Jill offered reassurance to the Henry's about their plans to get the kids together.

Both ladies also took turns apologizing for how intense brunch was.

"No mon! Ah serious thing this. If everyone is held accountable to the proper authorities even us, it will be for the betterment the children." Debra states proudly in her Jamaican accent.

"If you think about it, their lives have been destroyed by higher powers not being held accountable. This advocacy for order is a breath of fresh air." Dennis adds.

Jill couldn't help but to take this as shade if she was Mark, and when she turned to look at him, he gifts her with a stony glare, so Jill gives him a toothy grin. 'Ooo he big mad!' She thinks, and does her best not to giggle... She fails.

Mark clears his throat and walks up.

"I can assure you my wife and I will conduct this Dream Act with the utmost importance and with full integrity. The atrocities your nation has faced, and with so many families displaced, we felt that one couldn't just watch and say, 'what a shame?'. And as hard as this endeavor may be, my wife and I feel the strong pull to help. To more than help, be a part of the solution! And we are confident that these efforts will make a world of difference in these children's lives." Mark gives his best smile.

The Henry's beam in response.

"Oh we know the effects of what you all do for our nation's youth will be life changing." Dennis says then turning to face Sheri.

" Sheri you are one hard working woman, I can see that through and through." Sheri can't help but smile when Dennis speaks, his accent as warm as the sun.

"And I know you fear that this move can mash up your school, but since working with the Garrett's I can say they wouldn't just pick up this Dream Act for just political gain because many see but don't do, because it hard. But they are determined to help and see this through. I know that much." Dennis finishes with a confident grin.

Mark stands next to Dennis and pats him on the shoulder in a friendly way and says,

"That's how Monica and I have conducted ourselves throughout my political career and will continue to do so. There's not a project we start and don't manage, rest assured we will raise more money for the Dream Act this summer. With the proper funding, it should accomplish our goal of providing these children stability."

Mark let's go of Dennis and turns to address Sheri.

"Sheri I -"

"Dr. Woods."

Sheri corrects Mark in a clipped tone.

She couldn't believe this man has the nerve to parade his wife in her face after he just nutted inside her in less than 5 minutes of action. How much of a team were they if he could betray his wife in their own home and then conduct business as usual? What kind of man was this?

Mark clears his throat. "Dr. Woods, of course, that title is well earned. I just wanted to say that I completely understand your reluctance to this endeavor but I can assure you, it is our goal to come out of this as a stronger blended community, and what you've done for KRA high school was perfect for this endeavor. We will do our best to maintain the prosperity of KRA during this time of need."

"I'm sure you and your wife will." Sheri says, then turns to tell the Henry's goodbye and walks to Jill's car. She felt stupid for feeling resentment towards this man. He was clearly married and she had no business hooking up with him.

Jill follows after quickly waving goodbye to the Henry's. As they get in the car Mark goes to the passenger side. Sheri winds down the window.

"Hey Sheri, we have a lot to talk about-

"If it's to ask me to keep you posted on the development of our short-lived fun in your office, don't worry, I will be taking the morning after pill as soon as I leave here." Sheri says stiffly facing forward refusing to make eye contact with Mark. Knowing she'll fall into this weird love trance she goes into whenever their eyes meet.

Mark stiffens and looks at Jill.

Jill gives Mark a smug smirk.

"And please make sure Anthony and whoever else has taken care of or scandal caught on camera!" Sheri blurts out loudly, causing Mark to jump a little.

"Sheri I told you-"

Sheri winds up her window not wanting to hear another thing from Mark at the moment.

At the sound of Anthony's name, Jill's heart drops and wants to ask Mark for his number but she can't undo Sheri's dis. All she can do is speed down the driveway to complete the sting of Sheri's rejection.
