1 Short Prologue

I was studying for my finals alone in my bedroom. My mother and stepfather were asleep. As I heard footsteps, I sighed. I glanced up at my door, and I got out of bed. My mom and stepdad were sleeping when I went to check on them. I was irritated by my step dad's snoring. I disliked his snoring. The footsteps were heard again, and I turned around. "Hello?" I said. I tiptoed down stairs.

As a result, I returned to my room. I sat down in bed. Since I was exhausted, I went to sleep. Suddenly, I heard footsteps again. "Hello?" I said. No one answered. After I had gotten back into bed, I was trying to fall asleep. Footsteps kept coming. After falling into a deep sleep, I started having another dream. I saw this boy running for help.
