2 Surprised

I had not been sacred of the 'fox woman' before, maybe because of her beauty or the chaos ensuing inside my head, but now, after her unusual comment, I was terrified.

Man has always been afraid of what it doesn't understand and I was no exception.

Maybe my terror was apparent, because she gave a small chuckle as her glare turned into a pitied look.

To my shock, she then slowly descended the air and lightly landed on the ground.

She gave off a majestic aura as she then took a couple of small steps towards me.

The strange woman stopped only 3 feet away and observed me head to toe, like she was looking at an interesting toy.

"Hmmmm, you're amusing, most of the other humans are crying or screaming but you seem rather clam... Are you not afraid?"

In response I just looked back at her with a blank expression.

'Wrong, you're wrong! I've never been more scared in me whole damn life!'

"Still not answering, did I scare you too much~?"

She sounded like she was teasing me, but for some reason chills went down my spine.

I looked straight into her sivler fox eyes once more, and simply raised my trembling right hand and pointed at something.

The scar on my throat.

I literally couldn't speak!

I really did want to scream my lungs out but... I didn't have the ability to do so.

Well it was true that even though I was a mute, I could produce some kind of noise.

Of course I couldn't scream but most people who couldn't talk could make different kinds of noises which may or may not be pleasent for other people to hear.

My case however was a bit different.

I was used to being alone and not interacting with a lot of people, so I kept my mouth shut almost all the time. Repeatedly doing so for a long period caused it to became a some what of a permanent habit.

Basically, ever sice I lost my voice I never made a single sound.

I guess the 'fox woman' wasn't expecting such a response as she was clearly caught off guard.

The eerie silence around me grew stronger, as she kept quiet for a few moments, before proceeding to speak.

"Quite a scar you got there, you're more pitiful than I thought."

Her cold and calm expression had now changed into a look of mockery as she walked closer to me.

She came so close that I could finnaly see all her other characteristics that were previously hidden away by the lingering mist.

Honestly speaking any woman would kill for her figure. She was the perfect definition of a mature woman.

Strains of light blue could also be seen scattered perfectly throughout her hair and tail, and there seemed to be a red tattoo on her right wrist.

I was dumb enough to be lost in admiring her beauty in such a situation.

I tensed up and forced my self back to reality when she started to move her right hand twards me.

She didn't seem to want to punch me, but her actions gave me a bad feeling.

I wanted to resist but my feet were still stuck to the ground and my arms had been frozen by fear... fear of what the woman would do if I resisted.

Surprisingly she simply patted me on the head.

Her long fingers rested on top of my head and I could feel how cold yet soft they were.

I wanted to question the reason for such an action but her silver eyes quickly turned blood red and a red light emitted from the red tattoo.

I felt an excruciating pain throughout my body, like being struck by lightning, which forced my eyes to tear up.

Seeing this the woman chuckled then stated, "Don't worry this won't kill you."

She was right, after about 20 seconds the pain died out, but every muscle in my body felt sore.

The 'fox woman' retrieved her hand and backed away a few steps. Then she just stood there completely silent untill...

[ So let me ask again~ Are you not afraid? ]

I nearly fainted when I heard a strange yet familiar voice inside my head.

I was looking at the mysterious woman the whole time so I knew for a fact that her lips didn't move.

I started panicking in my head again.

[ What the hell is going on! Did I actually go crazy!? ]

[ Well you talk rather lively for being a mute~ ]

[ That tone... ]

I instantly knew that it was the woman. I glanced at her direction and she seemed to have an amused look on her face.

[ Surprised~? ]
