11 Endurance
The blood read eyes of the beast pierced through me as it moved around, trying to size me up.
I slowly moved my hands towards a pouch, took out some glass containers and quickly drank the contents.

Sadly other than the time limit, the effects of the elixirs couldn't be stacked.
Taking the risk and drinking the elixirs was the only chance I had.
Thankfully the gorilla didn't attack and had stopped moving with an amused expression on its face. It then moved its giant hands, taunting me to attack it.
After emptying most of the elixirs I had with me, I unsheathed my blade and held it in my right hand, while holding a handgun in my left.
'Damn! The merging process really did affect me. I would've never done crazy shit like this before!'
Questioning my already questionable sanity, I turned my attention to the hideous thing.
Ignoring the most obvious warnings, I plunged towards the beast with all my might, while it dashed towards me at the same pace.
A split second before we collided, I took one step in the air and jumped over it while shooting it in the shoulder.
'One more step left...'
The gorilla was furious as it swung around and threw a hard punch at me.
I was still in the air thus, the only thing I could do was shield myself with my arms and hope for the best.
The heavy blast sent me flying backwards, forcing me to cough up blood.

Both my arms were numb and I was barely able to get myself up.
I was lightheaded and unbalanced.
It looked like the beast was only playing with me, as it gave me time to recuperate.
Wipping the blood off my face I gritted my teeth and launched myself once more towards its gigantic body.
I used the same move once again.
I took a step into the air and jumped over it. Instead of shooting it however, I used gravity and stabbed the beast in its shoulder.

It screemed and attempted to grab me. Fortunately I was fast enough to avoid it and gain some distance between us.
Putting away my sword, I took out my second gun and then began a battle of endurance.
Will I shoot the thing down or will it get a hold of me.
The terrain was rather flat so I didn't have much cover. The only thing I could do was run and shoot.
This went on for 10 minutes. My ammunition and Elixir supplies were now completely depleted, but the beast was still live and kicking... literally.
Dodging an incoming kick, I threw my guns to the ground and took out my sword and a dagger.
Both me and my enemy were evidently very exhausted.
The beast had dozens of holes in it and was breathing very heavily.
It wasn't only it which was wounded though. It had manage to land a few good hits on me aswell, and now I only had 30 HP remaining.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath then used my last trump card.

A red hue covered my blade and dagger as I slowly walked towards the beast and stood infront of it.
Both of us knew that this was going to be our last exchange.
After a moment of silence we both launched our attacks.
The beast pumped its muscles and threw a heavy hook to me. Knowing I wouldn't be able to avoid it, I let it hit my arm.
During the process, I stabbed the beast in its chest and we both fell to the ground.

A small grin appeared on my face as I looked at the familiar black screens.
I didn't have the energy to walk back home, so I staggered to a small house near me to rest for the time being.
I had already cleaned up the area so no 'guest' would be coming there.
I layed on a strager's bed well staring at the ceiling with a stuped look on my face.
'Only 8 days in the apocalypse changed me so much. I wonder how I'll be like in the future...'
