Fighting the Dragon 3

All six of them spread away and started attacking the monsters. All of them used their respective abilities to fight.

But the monsters were also not going down without a fight. In fact the monsters seemed to do more damage as the fight went on.

Deep gashes, burnt flesh, torn muscles, all kinds of different wounds were being inflicted on them. Though the least wounded was Byeol, he was also not that much better than the others either. He weaved between the monsters and slashed at them. But mysteriously all the monsters that he fought against, none of them were dead. They were miserably wounded but not a single was dead.

He unconsciously spared them from death, though the monsters might have liked death more than being alive with not a single functional limb and half of the body burnt.

Suddenly Byeol stopped mid-air as a huge column of fire passed through the location he would have been if he hadn't stopped himself.

He looked towards the source of the fire and saw the big red Dragon looking towards him with a cold look on its face.

Byeol left the other monsters and flew towards the Dragon. He appeared over it and slashed down on its neck with his sword.

But other than a few superficial wounds, he couldn't inflict any more damage. He became perplexed seeing this. His sword which burnt with flames so hot that it was able to disintegrate matter with just a single touch was unable to inflict a proper wound on the dragon.

Even if the dragon was extremely durable, it still wouldn't be relatively unscathed from the high temperatures.

The dragon smacked Byeol away using its wings. He crashed onto the ground at high speeds but orientated himself back up. But he suddenly felt an intense pain on his right arm.

He looked to the side and saw a dragon biting down on his arm. He tried to jerk his arm out of its mouth when a second one came and started chewing on his wings.

He desperately tried to escape but the monsters seemed to hold onto him as if their lives depended on it. More and more monsters started surrounding and chomping down on his body. His right arm was torn apart. His upper wings were eaten and his right eye was gouged out.

He blindly used his sword to kill them but he was unable to inflict anything more than a few scratches.

Another monster grabbed him by his head and tried to tear his neck out.

'Is this how it ends?' he thought. Thinking of how short of a journey it was for him as an S-Rank. He looked away from the monsters eating him towards the main person responsible for this catastrophe.

He saw how the Dragon looked down on him. It had a look filled with contempt.

Suddenly he saw the dragon morph into something else. The creature looked like a reptile, but the only word to properly describe it would be 'dirty'. The creature had four limbs, a long tail, and reptilian eyes. This reptile was also able to talk like the dragon. It also has a hatred for all forms of life like the dragon.

He was seeing a creature from his memory. A long lost memory.

He now realised why was unable to hurt the Dragon. He was unconsciously holding back the entire time. He was trying to not "kill" it, but "spare" it.

The same deep and ancient voice that he had heard in his dreams the night he awakened said to him.

"This is not the lizard cursed by our LORD. This can be killed."

The Dragon looked down towards the human with wings. He watched as his minions tore the human apart and started eating him.

It didn't know why but it always seemed to get an intense feeling of dread from the human. He also couldn't understand why the human was holding back when fighting against it. He himself didn't seem to notice it in fact.

But that was all over.

Now the only fate of the human would be to turn into nourishment for his minions. The Dragon looked towards the five Hunters who were using Spiritual Manifestation who were also being slowly overwhelmed by the monsters. It then looked up towards the skies and thought.

'The Rulers have already descended. None of the Monarchs have descended till now. Though the location of Ashborn is still unknown after his deal with the Architect. Looks like I need to start searching for a body.'

*Boom*

The Dragon suddenly heard an explosion coming from the direction of the winged human. It immediately turned its head around and saw how all the monsters that were around the human disintegrated.

A white coloured orb was visible in the location where the heart should be. The heart released tendrils of fire into the body of the human which caused the amputated limbs and organs to start growing back. But instead of flesh it was instead being healed by fire. The fire completely created and filled all the missing parts and wounds. The fire then covered the entirety of the human.

The wings on the back of the human grew back but was immediately followed by the growing of another pair of wings. Making the number of wings a total 6.

But that was not the end of it. The fire covering his entire body started becoming even hotter. The fire turned from bright red to orange to yellow. And finally into white.

The temperature of his body had reached unimaginable temperatures.

The human had turned into a white humanoid with six white wings and two red eyes.

The humanoid lifted his arms up. A fiery red sword formed on his hands which he pointed up towards the skies. The Dragon sensing high amounts of danger tried to escape but suddenly found it unable to do so.

It looked downwards and saw the five humans trying to root it in its place. He bited the arm of the one nearest to him but the human grabs its teeth and breaks it off.

He growled in pain but realised that it was already too late. He saw how the sword increased in length. It turned from a simple sized sword to a sword that even a Giant would have difficulty in wielding, but the human kept the tip pointed upwards.

The flames of the sword grew hotter and brighter and compacted together. The muscles of the humanoid tightened up as he prepared to swing the sword.

Everyone on Earth seemed to realise that something big was about to occur. Everyone hitched their breaths and waited for it to come.

*Zing*

Before anyone could even notice, the sword was already on the ground, swung faster than even the speed of light.

The next moment, the dragon was cut in half straight through the middle, but it didn't end there. Every other monster from every corner of the world disappeared from existence.

The clouds spread apart and a ridge formed on the Pacific Ocean from his location. The water around the ridge slowly came and filled it up.

Reality itself was cut.

In a different dimension, a red humanoid was sitting on an extremely extravagant throne. Suddenly the red humanoid had its body slashed through the middle. Though not fatal, the wound was still extremely dangerous for him.

His minions, the dragons, surrounding him suddenly all got up and tried to help their Lord. Each of these Dragons were as powerful as the one that destroyed San Francisco, and they were in the dozens in this location.

The humanoid stopped them and healed himself. He then looked down on his subordinates before ordering them, "Go and tell the other Monarchs that the Rulers have already descended. I order them to look for hosts at the earliest."

Saying this he turned around and sat back down on his throne. He closed his eyes and thought to himself, 'Let us meet again humans. I shall show you the true power of the Monarch of Destruction.'

AN: So I made a small mistake.

In a chapter I had written that each guild in Korea has a single S-Rank but then a few chapters later I introduced characters who were S-Ranks but were members of guilds with an S-Rank already in them.

Please ignore my small boo-boo!~

Also,

I might upload a few more chapters today as I will be busy the rest of the week and might not be able to upload later...
