26 The Empire Misunderstands

[Kara's POV]

I have just appeared outside on the borders of the Capital City of the Kalastar Empire, the largest Empire of Barithea. And from afar, I could already see the massive flying CITIES, and on land is where the middle-class of the Empire resides.

Yep, there were some minor floating islands but aren't considered a city. They are more of Noble's playground of sorts, and there was a massive one.

The floating islands and Capital city all have strange devices beneath them, so it must be the things that make it float. The island had multiple walled sections instead of just one massive one.

And in the middle of the Capital City, a massive palace was there. I could already envision the tree there; after I rip the castle out, of course.

"Every Noble and Royal family must all be living on the flying capital then," I mused to myself. Sending out my senses, I got detailed images of everything that was inside of the city.

From underground tunnels of the land city, buildings, the people, and I sensed many more things. If my brain is ordinary, it would have melted with the amount of information I just gathered from sensing.

'Hmm, maybe I should take a stroll and learn of the culture here. And I have calmed down already from the massacre that I just did. Let's take Aerys with me then. Must be quite bored taking care of those elves.'

With the change of my plans, I teleported to Aerys' location and immediately spotted the thousands of lives I had just saved.

Upon my appearance, every elf kneeled on the ground in gratitude. The spirits, however, swirled around me like playful children.

Taking another look at the kneeling elves, I spoke, "I'm Kara White, and from another world. I just happened to save you in the search for knowledge."

I allowed them to soak in the information first; I wanted them to follow me willingly, with no deceptions. And soon enough, a different representative stood up, probably a Royal that I teleported from the tree.

'Another busty elf, great. Maybe I should alter my boobies and erase my and my family's memory from ever modifying them. Yup, maybe I should.'

The person who stood up wore a silky white dress with gold ornaments and her cleavage visible. On her head, she adorned an antler-like golden crown, platinum gold hair that reaches to her bosom, a slim figure with a charming allure too.

"I'm Kainas Eralen, Queen of the Elves. Before Savior Kara arrived, we elves had already discussed the route that we would take.

And all of us elves have agreed to follow Savior Kara and be her servants. So, we hope you take us under your banner.

Any enemy of Savior Kara is our enemy too; we will sharpen ourselves to be of use, whether laying down our life for you."

After her speech, she kneeled and removed her crown, as if to say her past status of Queen has no value anymore.

"We won't remain weak and idle. This war has already taught us that. And so, we elves swear on our magic and lives that we will serve under Savior, Kara White, loyally."

And like dominos, the rest of the elves also swore, "We swear on our magic and lives to serve Savior, Kara White, loyally!" And like magic, the elves glowed, and I suddenly felt a connection with them.

I was surprised that their Queen was speaking genuinely. For a moment, I was expecting her to manipulate me and try to put my anger on the humans. Well, it didn't come.

If it did, I would have just ended her; right then and there. Think can always replace her role anyway; I don't need someone trying to manipulate me.

"I am not an experienced ruler, but I at least have the power to protect all of you. So, let's learn from each other," unknowingly, I was stabbing the Queen in the heart with my words of being able to protect them.

After that brief ceremony, I set up a barrier for the elves and gave them food and water that could last for a week. I was glad that they ate meat. It wouldn't limit their choices.

When everything was secure, I spoke with Aerys regarding the sudden change of plans. I wanted to take things slow for now since it's only been nearly half a day, yet so many things have happened already.

And without suspense, he readily agreed to my proposal of wandering the capital the next day; it was nearly nighttime already, after all.

[Kalastar Empire, Emperor's Palace]

Inside a luxuriously decorated room, multiple nobles and the Emperor himself were having a meeting. They had emergency news regarding the war on elves. At first, they thought it was just an overly excited messenger, but his expression showed otherwise.

When the messenger explained his report and showed a device that recorded what happened during the war—they had gloom expressions. Who wouldn't have?

Though, the recording wasn't able to record that the World Tree had disappeared as well. It linked the device to a distant post, so the people responsible couldn't see it as well.

And now, here they are meeting with themselves.

"What do you gentlemen think of the angel that attacked us? Do you think this is a messenger of a God?" the Emperor asked the Nobles that held government positions in the room.

They even called in the 'Pope' into the meeting. However, the Pope was merely a puppet of the Emperor to control the masses.

After all, what better way to control the masses than through religion. It brings fear upon a higher power, and the Emperor uses religion to proclaim himself as God's chosen.

And now, it seems the sham religion that the Emperor doesn't believe in came to bite them in the ass with Kara's appearance.

"Your Majesty, we can hear the anger in the angel's words when the knights and mages burnt the books and manuscripts down.

P-perhaps this angel could be Uriel, Ruler of Wisdom and Knowledge, or Raziel, Ruler of Mysteries and Secrets," the Pope gulped at those words.

Blots of sweat dripped from the foreheads of the people within the room. 'An angel that governs mysteries or knowledge is this powerful!?' they thought.

"T-Tell me, where did you find this information of yours?" one of the not-so-devout believers asked. It's a crime not to be a believer, only if you're a low-class noble or a commoner. Within the lands of the Empire, at least.

"It's in the Holy Scriptures, Count Suntodie," the Pope responded. His face couldn't help but twitch when these Nobles are so blatant in their lack of belief.

Soon after, the other nobles began throwing questions at the Pope, which infuriated the Emperor, "Stop asking these ridiculous questions! We should instead be asking how we should appease the angel!"

The nobles probably tried comforting themselves that the angel perhaps is just a strong harpy rather than a divine being of legends.

If the angel was genuinely the angel of legends, then there must be six others. Six others that they can't offend, meaning they must take the angel's punishment without resistance.

After some thinking, the Pope came up with an answer. "How about we offer our knowledge and books as compensation for our misdeeds?"

Hearing this, every noble perked up. 'Yes! We should give knowledge in exchange for what got burnt!' they thought to themselves. Will it work? Maybe, who knows?

Eventually, the nobles started unearthing and ordering every servant to bring in their entire collection of books and manuscripts. Hell, they even threw in jewelry and gold. Those items were then placed in a building, ready to be offered when the angel came knocking on their doorstep.

[Next Day]

Kara woke up feeling ready, ready to storm a castle. Well, she wants to explore the capital first, both land and flying cities.

When Aerys appeared, Kara looked at him weirdly. "Do you have some human transformation? An owl's form won't keep annoying thugs away, you know?" Kara didn't want to experience the cliche 'Are you alone pretty lady?' moment.

Aerys shrugged his owl wings and turned into a flash of golden light. The next moment, he transformed into a vicious-looking knight. His armor was silvery-white in color while gilded in gold.

His helmet covered the entirety of his face and head; it had a wild decorative white hair on the back, similar to the Romans. Though his armor was the definition of sharp, nothing looked dull. To partner his looks, he wielded a flat-bladed spear that had a pointed tip on the bottom.

"Wow, you're like those transformation characters! Except you didn't scream nor chanted some awkward lines!" as Kara said this, Aerys shook his head. However, she then pointed at his helmet. "Mind taking off your helmet? I'm curious to know what you look like."

Aerys saw no problem with this; he rarely used his human transformation since it isn't needed as much as his Dragon form. And also because of preference.

As soon as he removed his helmet, it revealed a white-haired young adult; his hair had some tuffs of blood-red hair. His eyes were still the same, golden slitted dragon eyes, but this time he had a unique red marking that traveled on his right eye.

Kara, seeing this, casually nodded, nothing mind-blowing. "By the way, Dragons are said to be either male or female. You could transform into a female, yes?"

And just like that, Aerys transformed into his female counterpart without batting an eye. There wasn't anything shocking, but when Kara saw Aerys' bust, she went wide-eyed!

'I'm totally making my breasts bigger after this world!' she annoyingly thought; big busts, especially the elves, have surrounded her since yesterday!

She thought the elves would have smallies, but they had biggies instead!

"Ugh! Let's just go!" she grumpily headed in the Empire's direction. Aerys was confused but nonchalantly placed back his helmet and followed along.
