3 3. Gates

Rangga's training went smoothly, he can learn at fast speed in every subject he learnt. Mochi explain that Ashgar has created his body to be able to grow strong fast so he will be able to hold Ashgar's magic power when the time comes. It's also the reason he choose to reincarnate someone as he can make the body to be the best. Rangga's brain also made to be the best, even tough he's not the smartest but he is a genius at martial art, he can learn skills at fast rate.

Rangga's soul is pure and Mochi always clean it from evil taint. That's also the reason he didn't have intension to succed his family business as he didn't want to pursue richness. He even never lied in this life, the most he do is avoiding to answer for good reason. Even tough he's playful and like to joke, he's not arrogant and brag about his accomplishment. His family, instructor, and friends like this side of him. He's childish but responsible, and he never got to fight with others with no apparent reason. Because even if Rulers need someone with pure soul, they still go to war, that means they need to differentiate between doing evil deeds and responsibility, so he still can do self defense.

He already finished his MMA training 2 years ago, and it has been 2 years since his kendo training. He's proficient enough with one sword style. So now he want to start his 2 sword style training. In a year the gates will start to appear, so he need to train fast. Thankfully with this body that Ashgar had created, he can learn a lot faster than others.

His training with 2 sword style is really hard. He keep swinginh the sword at the same direction, or can only do the same motions with two hands. He can't swing the sword with different movement at first. He need 6 months to finally do moves individually with both hands. He can separate his mind to control the sword individually, but he's still an amateur at dual wielding. He keep training until 5 months later there's a news that will change the world.

A portal like object have appear on a lot of country at once. Every country fall into panic, as this is a strange phenomena that appear all around the world. The country goverment and United Nations start to investigate these phenomena and fail. They can't go in this portal at all and didn't know how to approach it. They issued a massive evacuation around portal area. The investigation didn't work at all for a week, and suddenly cracks appear in those gates. Everybody panic watching this from news.

Rangga's family also worried about these phenomena. They all decide to gather in Rangga's house. His grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, all gather there with their guards. His house has the most security than the others, and it's the farthest from a gate that appear on Bali and West Sumatra. Indonesia have 2 gates appear at once as the country is rather big. The goverment also checked the big forests and luckily didn't find hidden gates. It's like the gates appear near people as this also happen in other country.

Sometime after the cracks appear, they shatter and a place completely different from it's surrounding appear behing those gates. Then some non humans creatures come out from the gates. They just look like those myths or legends that passed down on earth. Something that looks like goblin, orcs, big insect, blue elves, demons, and many other thing that can onlu be described as 'Monsters'.

The soldiers that guarding the gates didn't need order to know they're hostile, as they just charge at the soldiers. The soldiers start to shoot them with their guns but it's not working at all, it's like their guns are toy for these monsters. They start firing using heavy artillery, tanks or jets. But it can only injure the monsters a bit, even the ones that got killed is small monsters like goblin or insects and that's only some. There're a lot more and the soldiers didn't have enough artillery to defeat them.

The monsters march forward to evacuation area. They seem to know where the humans live and they search humans. The soldiers kep attacking but can only slow the monsters a bit. They got killed and eaten by those monsters. Even some news helicopter got shot down. The tv station decide to stop taking picture of these gruelling sight of human's getting devoured by monsters. Everybody's hope became nill as even the soldiers can stop these monsters.

Just then a lot of people near the gates feel some change in their body. They feel like power is brewing inside their body at the same time. Soldiers, civilian, some people feel this power and they know what they can do and what they need to do. They start to run toward the monsters, startling everyone else. Some soldiers trow their weapons and run empty handed toward the monsters. Everybody that saw this became flabbergasted. They think these people are getting crazy in these pressure. But oh boy, they're in for surprise.

Rangga: "Finally"

Ani: "Rangga, you can't say that. Those people are getting desperated and lose their minds. You must pray for them not cursing them."

Rangga: "No mom, that's not what i mean."

Rudi rise his eyebrow: "Then what do you mean?"

Rangga: "I think they obtain some power and they can fight those things"

Ani: "Why do you think like that?"

The others also turn their heads to Rangga.

Rangga: "Do you remember that no one can enter those gates? Also that those gates only opened now?"

The other nods

Rangga: "I think that those are some preparation and prerequisite. The preparation is for the gates to be opened. It must've need some kind of key to open, or it need some power to be leaked outside so that monsters can do those things like fire breath or make ice outside. Let's just say it leaks magic for convenience. The gates leaked magic power to make those monsters survived and able to use their power here where maybe there's no magic. It's like a fish getting out of lake and can't live if we don't prepare an aquarium. They need magic power so they can breath freely here, that's the concept."

Rudi: "Hmm, that's actually quite logical, what about those people"

Rangga: "Those people must've absorbed those magic power too. There're a lot of story about magic in the past and maybe they can really use it, maybe the magic power is just disappeared, make humans can't use it again. The magic power that leakes from those gates are maybe the same with the past, so people that near and have compatibility can absorb it and get the powers.

They must feel it in their body and think that this is the power to defeat those monsters. Which maybe they're right, those monsters can't get injured by kinetic energy, only some small one can get affected by a very strong weapon. So maybe only magic energy can affect them. That's why those people that awakened their magical power are the only ones that can defeat those monsters."

The others stunned hearing this. A 14 y.o near 15 y.o boy actually came up with this possible theory, and they, adults can't think anything about it. It must be a difference between a genius with normal people. Rangga's grandpa, Rudi's dad decide to call his friend, the Minister of Defense (MoD) to tell about this.

MoD: "What is it Beno? I'm very busy now, make it fast"

He know that Beno will not call him for something unimportant at time like this, so he take the phone.

Beno: "Andi, i have something important to tell you. Maybe this is a possible theory about those gates."

Andi: "What? Hurry up! Tell me!"

He suddenly stand up, startling his subordinates.

Beno: " Alright, here's the thing..."

Beno started to narrate what Rangga said and Andi can't help but widened his eyes and slam at his table. He think that this is a very possible scenario, as he watch those people fight the monsters and can kill those things even tough tank can't. That means those people are stronger than tank.

Andi: "Thanks Beno, your grandson and your family are a very big help really. I'll call the president now"

Beno: "Alright An, i hope we can end this disaster soon"

Andi: "I hope that to my friend"

Then Andi hung up and call the president to talk about this. Rangga's theory spread fast and reach the United Nations and other Country. To think that there's a teenager that can find the most possible theory this fast is really a big news.

Meanwhile, the awakened people keep increased. Some are really strong, some are rather weak. But they can injure and kill those monsters. The soldiers or police that awakened are fine when they kill the monsters. But a lot of civilian that never see blood with their eyes and kill even a chicken can't hold themselves to throw up. They're getting distracted and killed.

This make other awakened civilian feel fear, they didn't think that they will get killed. They just feel overconfident when they got the power. Only the really strong ones, in body and mind, can handle the fact that they can die in this battle and kill the monsters. Some weaker but brave people help by supporting the strong, they want to protect their family and friends, so they're ready to throw their lives away for them.

The awakened ones have their own unique power. Some are getting strong body, make them really durable when getting attacked by monsters, but their attack are weak. Some get high attack power and rather durable body. Some get a strong attacm and fast speed but weak defense. Some can make fire, or ice from theit hands. They're just like the people with great power from myth.

The battle, or war keep going in a lot of country at once. The soldiers protecting the evacuation site even tough their weapon is useless. But they need people to protect civilians. They even ready to be canon fodder or bait if they can buy some time for civilians to run. The battle continue for some hours until a day as the monsters are spread when they got out from the gates.

When some gate spots are cleares from those monsters, the gates is still openes. This make the awakened confuse, but the sensitive ones feel there's something inside the gates. Something stronger than the monsters before. They tell their comrades about this and they decide to go in. Then they found it, a lone monster inside this cave, no dungeon. They fight this monster and it's more difficult than those monsters outside. Some place can defeat the lone monsters easily, some are hard, and some are failed and need help from others.

This first battle caused by the appearance of gates keep for 2 days. A lot of people dead but not as much if there's no evacuation and no one awakened Everybody feel relieved, but then some gates appeared again. It's make people despaired, as it only means the gates will come again and again. But they also have hope, as more people are getting awakened. These awakened ones are the only one that can fighy those monsters.

After some test, these awakened people can go inside the gates. So it's decided that they will go inside the gates and clear the inside before the monsters come out. And it works, everybody feel elated knowing this. But people, specifically the family of these awakened ones are scared and worry. Because they can die inside and they can't get out if they die, as their teammates can't afford to pick them up if they want to get out. Because the gates will be closes if they come out late after clearing the dungeon.

The goverment from every country make a meeting to decide their next action. First they named the awakened ones 'Hunters'. Inside the gates is a dungeon, and the strongest creatures are dungeon boss. Only by killing dungeon boss can they closes the dungeon. The dungeon also produced some materials like crystals, and monster corpses also have value, as they can only use weapon with magic power, so materials from dungeon are important, it can be given to hunters as weapons that functioned inside after being processed.

They also classified hunters to help in creating raid teams. Fighter, Mage, Tank, Assassin, Healer, Ranger, and Hidden class. The raid teams need to at least have a tank, close combat fighter, a ranger, and a healer. But to make sure, the govermenta set the raind teams are made of at least 10 hunters. The goverment plan to make some measurement equipment to measure the power of dungeons as they found out some dungeouns have stronger creatures that the hunters can't handle. They also find dungeon's time limits.
