22 - How did they know?

"Now then... monsters here I come!"

-------------------------------

After taking what seems like hours of travelling through transport, Mickaila finally arrives to the town where Hallow museum resided in. Since this place was rumoured to be cursed, not a lot of people come here except for those locals who live around here but for some reason Mickaila has a bad feeling about something.

Taking steps forwards through the half-empty streets, passing through strangers who take no mind to his appearance. The further he walked, the closer he got to the Hallow Museum and the less people there was in plain sight.

[Well, this is to be expected since this is the rumoured cursed place] he thought to himself as he walked further inside the dark alley and just upon reaching the museum, a ominous feeling reached into his chest. His senses told him to not go any further and he took it into heart, trusting his instincts and slowly decided his next move rather than being rash.

He felt several strong presences outside the alley Infront of him, unsure whether they are enemies that he should be mindful of.

But nevertheless it is better to be careful than sorry. Looking up the small alleyway and the equipments set out, he knew the best course of action is to observe from afar rather than to face it face on.

Taking into account his speed and agility, calculating the level of success he started to make his way running towards the crates and step after step he starts jumping from wall to wall until he reached the top landing on the building roof where he could see everything clearly from above.

|Congratulations, you have gained the skill sky-step|

|Skill: sky-step

Level: 1

Description: allows the player to walk on things contrary to the rule of gravity however they must be in constant motion|

[Wow, I can't believe I could gain a skill for jumping from wall to wall. Well then again I could only imagine mangas for portraying these unbelievable moves rather than actually experiencing it.] He said to himself quite amazed with what he just did but decided that all the impossible things are happening one after another that nothing seems to be impossible now.

Heading over to the edge of the roof, he peeked down to see small commodities walking about and as he predicted, focusing down outside the Hallow museum, he sees several strong beings, [hunters?] walking around, surrounding the museum with no way in.

[Why are they here?] Mickaila wondered as he used his heightened senses to listen in.

"No sir, the target hasn't been detected yet." A tall man with spiky brown hair said through his earpiece.

[Target?] Mickaila asked confused.

[Is the portal open again?] He questioned wondering what the man was talking about through the earpiece, wondering if monsters were about to appear on the premises.

"As soon as the person is in sight, make sure he is brought to us unharmed." The voice from the other side of the earpiece said.

"Yes sir." The man saluted to the command.

[Phew, at least it's not one of the monsters from the other side of the portal making a havoc over here...] he sighed, [... but who is this person they are talking about?] He asked confused.

[I don't think some random people would stupidly walk to this cursed place.] He thought to himself.

[Wait, don't tell me...]

' Gamer (referring to Mickaila), it seems like they are targeting you.' the system nonchalantly said.

'well, it seems that way. But how did they find out?' He wondered as no one knows of his plan for coming here today or even identified him since he has been under good disguise for the past few weeks.

'it seems they have a seer upon their midst.' answered the system.

'what's a seer?' Mickaila questioned

'A seer is a new awakened person with the ability to see the future or even predict what happens.' the system replied and Mickaila nonchalantly nodded, 'so basically psychics.'

'yes exactly.' says the system, 'however, seers use a type of magic book rather than a magical ball, and the images they are provided would not be as vivid unless they are of high ranking.'

'so basically they don't know what I truly look like or else they would've been outside my house right now ready to take me in, right?' Mickaila summarised.

'correct!'

'and since you are a gamer, a seer is unable to see your true appearance unless you permit however they can predict your actions.' says the system in a calm motion.

'ok, if that's the case we have nothing to worry about.' he smiled.

All he needs to do now is get close enough to the Hallow museum to be able to open the portal to the other side.

He smiled and stood up, taking a deep breath and searched his surroundings, calculating all the necessary steps to take from the roof he was on to the museum's roof.

Glad that he put more stats on his intelligence, he internally patted his back, [you actually think you can catch me!] Mickaila asked sarcastically, [well let's see you guys try!] He smirked as he swiftly made his way jumping from roof to roof until he was at the one right behind the Hallow museum.

With one last jump, he made his way to the top of Hallow museum, just enough distance he needed to open the portal however at that instant he was also caught by one of the hunters, "Everyone, there is someone on the museum's roof!" the man with brown spiky hair said catching all the attentions of the rest of the hunters who quickly faced their attention at Mickaila, [well too late!] As within that few seconds, the portal was opened and Mickaila jumped inside before it once again closed.

Leaving all the hunters at the scenes dumbfounded and shocked with what has happened, "was I seeing things or did he just disappear from the roof?" Another hunter said.

"Nope, I saw the same thing." Another said.

But no one at the scenes knew that Mickaila actually went through a portal rather than disappearing since the portal isn't visible to them making this a mystery.

And as for Mickaila, he was now within a large space that seems to be a museum with fossils of different existences in the premises he stood within, the whole place gave him a ominous feeling and his guts told him that something was about to happen and he wouldn't like it.
