21 21. Tear Drops

There are items that come with accompaniments. These items are called Itemsets.

Item sets have their own unique trait. As long as the items are equipped by the user, he/she will receive a special effect that solely the item set has.

But if only one of the item is equipped, the special effect will not activate.

From Jin's past memories, he had known many hunters equipped with item sets and those hunters had their growth increase rapidly.

"The description of the item set is pretty neat, maybe I'll try it later but for now, I should look at this first."

Jin placed the item sets back to his spatial inventory and retrieves a dark liquid that was encased in a glass bottle which was peculiarly designed.

The glass bottle was only 5 cm in height and the dark liquid inside was about 5 ml.

It seems to illuminate a darkish glow and the liquid didn't had odor.

"Holy Shyet!! This should be ranked S!!"

The details of the elixir jaw-dropping. He couldn't help but be bewildered that he had received such an overpowered item.

Elixirs are the most rare and most searched consumable-type items. Unlike potions or antidotes that give the user temporary buffs and healings, elixirs held powerful benefits to the user not only that the effects are overwhelming, every effect it gives becomes permanent.

The basic types of elixirs give permanent status points to the user depending on its ranking. There are also some Elixirs that increase the experience gain for certain hours which are the most profound type of elixir there is.

Elixirs can be mostly acquired as rewards for difficult or hidden quests. They can also be found as loot drops from boss monsters but their drop rate is very low so if a boss monster could drop an elixir, it would be mostly by the hunter's luck.

But this Black Elixir, it held overwhelming benefits that could rapidly change the growth of a hunter. The increase in dark resistance would give Jin a low probability of receiving powerful debuffs like curses and such. Not just that, the other benefit would permanently increase the effects of Jin's dark attribute even if you'd think it would be entirely useless for Jin to obtain this benefit since he didn't have any dark

attribute but no, Dainsleif alone is already a weapon of darkness.

Lastly, the beneficial effect that really gave Jin a jaw-dropping reaction was the unique effect called Black Heart. It doubles all the points in intelligence attribute meaning Jin wouldn't worry about his mana consumption anymore. He would just rely on his wide mana pool and continue to spam skills nonstop.

"Fuck it! Cheers!"

Pop!

He remove the cork of the bottle using fingers immediately drinking the liquid.

Glug! Glug!

"Phua! Tastes like wate-..."

Thud!

When the liquid flowed unto his throat and entered his stomach, the veins in his body turned black causing him to collapse on the ground unconscious.

The ringing tone from the system notification resounded in his head. This sound woke him up and as he slowly opened his eyes, the first thing he could see was the window interface.

"Urgh... what the hell just happened."

He stood up from the ground on where he collapsed on. He slowly massage his head trying to recall what had happened, if he could feel pain, he would have a migraine right now seeing that his vision was still blurry.

Seconds passed, his vision had returned clearly. Finally, he remembered what had happened.

"That elixir might be the reason I got unconscious all of a sudden."

As he read the window interface in front of his vision excitement filled his view. Immediately he recalled the player status to check out the changes.

His eyes glinted seeing the amazing reward he had obtained. The skill, [Mana Awareness] would become very useful for Jin in the future knowing that he needed to kill all the monsters. He wouldn't have a hard time searching for monsters hiding in tight spaces, those that are so small for the naked eye to see and those monsters that could blend in the surroundings.

Having the skill itself would save Jin a lot of time.

"Hum~ hum~ I already checked all the rewards so what's next?"

Jin looked around his surroundings. Immediately, something piqued his eyes that made him giggle while tears drip in his eyes.

"Scar... I can't wait to see you."

The soul extraction on Scar was finally done. Immediately he grabbed the necklace on his hand and went outside.

Outside, different types of monster could be seen lined up in the ground. They range from bulls, hyenas, bears, to foxes, wolves, cheetahs, and lions.

"Let's see..."

The amulet in the necklace lit up brightly. The light it emitted turned into a sensor that you would usually find in sci-fi movies.

When Jin walked sideways, the amulet scanned the monsters aligned on the ground.

The light it emitted was red when it first lit up, but when the amulet scanned the monsters, the light continually change its color. The colors moved from red and orange sometimes yellow, this effect showed the compatibility of the soul to the vessel.

When Scar's soul was still in the extraction period, the monster's Jin killed were all arranged depending on their species.

Since Scar had his Special Feat: Beast, he had to pick the beast type monsters as the qualified vessels so this was the result of his hunt.

Ting!

THE VESSEL IS COMPATIBLE!

Seeing that the light that the amulet beamed when it scanned one of the cheetahs, it had turned in green indicating a good sign as he was met by the window interface.

"Didn't expect it to be a cheetah but I should seek the remaining first, maybe there is a better compatibility compared to this cheetah."

Eventually, he continued to scan the monsters. Moments passed by, he placed the monsters that were 100% a compatible vessel. They were only three of them over almost hundreds of monsters, a cheetah, a bear, and a lion.

"Since Scar was originally a lion, the lion it is then!"

Woosh!

A breezy gust of wind was released in the amulet. The wind move towards the lion's body and when it filly entered inside its body, it began to float in the air flashing in a bright light that blinded Jin's view for a second.

SCAR'S SOUL HAS ENTERED THE VESSEL SUCCESSFULLY!

Hearing the window alert echoing in his head, he rubbed his eyes to remove the blur in his vision.

"Hey, Jin."

His vision retained its clearness and when he heard the familiar voice that breezed on his hear, heavy tears poured down his eyes.

"Scar!"

Quickly as he embraced him tightly. Scar was back to his beastman from chuckling as he saw that Jin was crying out his heart.

"Did you miss me, kid?"

"Yeah... Very much."
