20 20. What you Reap is What you Sow

"No no no!"

After the small dome of flame dissipated, Jin hurriedly went to check Scar.

His body had been fully scorched in flames leaving nothing but his whole body burnt in crisp.

Jin grabbed his body and tightly embraced it. Tears drop down on his eyes, crying and crying fully regretting what he just did.

"Scar, I'm sorry... I'm sorry! Please don't leave me!!!"

He helplessly cried out his heart. Scar was the only person that made him feel special. Even in the past few weeks, they bond together, Jin felt a father figure from Scar knowing he took care of him, gave him home, taught him and trained him even if all of it was just an act for Jin to took an advantage but Scar wholeheartedly loved him, not as a brother but as a son.

Jin never felt how a father looks after her son. Ever since he was born, his father was not there for him. He left my mom when he was still bearing me inside her body.

The only thing he could remember about her father was that he was a former police officer and nothing else. He doesn't even know his name, what he looks like, how old he is or if he's even alive or not.

There was a missing part in Jin's heart and that missing part is his father but Scar was the one who perfectly fits on that missing part of him. Even if they were not connected by blood, by race or by worlds and dimensions, Scar showed Jin how an actual father looks after his son.

Rewards for subjugating the Bosses: Scar and Mufasa.

TREASURE CHEST (A)

GOLD CHEST (A-)

Two big chests appeared in front of him and each one was the same size. The treasure chest had a pirate-ish design, in which the keyhole was made of a skull and a transparent rainbow aura envelopes it.

The other one, the gold chest was entirely colored in gold that sparkled, shimmer and shone itself into the surroundings.

But Jin didn't mind the two chests in front of him since he was still busy mourning Scar's death.

"Please! I beg you! Don't leave me!!"

He continue to cry in despair holding Scar's body in his arms. The necklace he wore begin to brim in crimson red glow and the window interface popped up in his view.

Ting!

Soul extraction can be done on the corpse.

Scar (S)

Duration for extraction

07:00:00:00:00

Proceed? (Y/N)

Jin's eyes glistened in hope. He was given a chance to see Scar again. Immediately, he didn't think twice and said "yes".

Ting!

Extraction is now starting!

Please place the necklace in contact with the soul's body for the extraction to begin.

Hurriedly, Jin removed his necklace and placed it on Scar's chest. The amulet began to glow brightly and the glow on the amulet spread out and covered the entirety of Scar's body.

The countdown began to start. The duration was a week and this give Jin enough time to kill all the monsters in this dungeon and get the two keys he needed to open the chests.

"Don't worry Scar, You'll survive so don't leave me again."

Jin stood up from the ground and walked towards the 4 corpse of the other beastmen. He needed to make proper burial for them so he brought their bodies back in the cabin and in the backyard, there he buried their bodies leaving a cross for the tombstone engraved with their names on it.

"You may rest in peace."

•••••••••

Baaam! Hoooot! Crash!

Jin mercilessly beat up the monsters he comes across. He broke their jaws using his fist, slashed their bodies using Dainsleif and heaved back the monsters who tried to flee from him using the steel strings.

"This is for Pete!"

Baaam!

"This is for Harold!"

Swing!

"This is for Dan!"

Slash!

"This is for Carter!"

Hoot! Baam!

"This is for Scar!!"

Dududud!

This was his way to remove his grievance by beating up the monsters. He continued this for 6 days until all of the monsters had been exterminated rewarding him with the keys that he needed.

Ting!

Treasure Key (A)

Gold Key (A-)

"Huff! Finally, I got it."

Receiving the two keys in his hand, he immediately returned back to the lair to open the chests. This time, it had also helped him remove the anger he had pent up inside and let him polish his swordsmanship and steel techniques.

Though he didn't rose a single point for swordsmanship, or done some conditions for the [Steel String]'s evolution, he had rose a level for his result and it wasn't a bad reward.

"Nice."

Noticing the reward given to him, he gleamed in satisfaction. It was a buff skill that enhanced his strength by 20% which would be good when penetrating an enemy's defense and dealing heavy damage to a target.

Also the agility buff was almost the same effects as the strength buff only the difference was the duration and the additional effects. Still, the buff was pretty good for escaping or pursuing enemies.

He discarded the window interface and resume on his dash back to the lair for his reward.

••••••••••

Upon arriving on his destination, the first thing that met his eyes was Scar's corpse. The extraction was still ongoing and is almost done so he was more than excited to meet him again.

Ting!

Extraction time remaining

00:00:01:48:12

The duration has only 2 hours remaining stimulating him in joy.

'Let's hurry up and check the chest rewards.'

The first one he wanted to open was the Gold Chest. Though he felt like he didn't deserve this reward after all, if he didn't accidentally wound Scar, he might not receive this chest.

"Sigh, let's check it."

Clink!

The sound of the key when Jin opened the lock echoed in the silent dome. Slowly Jin opened the golden chest and a bright flash blinded his vision momentarily.

Ting!

"Wow!"

Jin was pleased by the rewards. Firstly, the B-ranked items were very showy but not one of the items piqued his interest. He wouldn't throw the items away, he would use it to upgrade Dainsleif to the next level so he was complacent enough to accept it.

Next was the weapon enhancers. He had heard of it on some hunters but he never saw it in person. They say that weapon enhancers where magical stones that if used on a weapon of choice, it will increase their status by a few folds depending on the rank of the weapon enhancer, the higher the rank, the higher the probability that the enhancement will succeed.

Instantly, the magic stone disappeared in dust and a window interface covered Jin's view.

Ting!

"Oh!"

Again, Jin bashed another magic stone on Dainsleif in his excitement seeing that the enhancement has been successful.

Tang!

Ting!

Enhancement unsuccessful.

"It's okay, I still have 8 more enhancement stones."

Jin repeated the process again. He failed, succeeded, failed and succeeded until all of the magic stones had dwindled.

This was the result.

When he thought of the sound of the sea, the hair on his body begin to stand up.

"Damn, what is this strange feeling right now?."

Jin rugged off this weird sensation he was feeling and went next to the last chest.
