2 2. Problems

Jin casually entered the entrance for Gaia's Canyon. The guards who had levels of 25 had just stood frozen on the entrance.

He didn't mind them and entered the gate where he was greeted by the system interface.

Ting!

YOU HAVE ENTERED, GAIA'S CANYON!

"Mmmmm, let's go!"

Jin exhaled the air in the canyon, from the outside, you couldn't really tell that this was a canyon since from afar, it was located in the middle of the woods yet from the inside of the entrance, it became another terrain.

Quickly, Jin used [Flash]. He sprinted through the location to were the griffins were as he was only focusing on killing them. He didn't mind the other monsters in the area as he passed through them.

30 minutes passed, Jin arrived at the area where the griffins inhabit. It was on the edge of a steep mountain and just from above, there was a hole that could fit a bus inside. That was the cave in which the griffins lived.

"Ah, shit."

Jin was glad that he arrived at the place but there was no specific way to enter the cave. It was placed in the middle of the edge of the mountain and the passageway was very steep, one mistake could mean the end of his life and he wasn't certain if he could still revive just like last time.

"Wooh! If I don't do this, I won't level up fast."

Jin gritted his teeth and clench his fist. If he had a mountain climbing skill, this problem would be easy but sadly he didn't have one.

His only solution was to climb it with his own might.

He first check the area, he could see dented rocks that he could probably use to grab hold on but there might be a chance that the rocks might crack or fall out.

"Tsk, I don't have a choice do I?"

Jin said to himself. Slowly, he grab on one of the rocks, it was a sturdy one so it was safe to put all his weight into it. Next, he grabbed on another rock but this one cracked due to Jin's strength.

"Ah, crap!"

He sweated as he almost fell down. Eventually, he found another sturdy rock and slowly he climbed the steep mountain towards the cave.

The height of the cave from below was 20 meter high so if Jin fell from that height, it could mean fatal.

Sigh~

Jin relaxed himself, slowly he climb the steep mountain reaching him about 5 meters away from the cave.

He wanted to stop and took a rest, so he didn't move from his position. He looks up from the cave and saw that he was almost there so he sighed in relief.

He looks down from the ground and realizes he was already high up from the mountain causing him to get nausea.

He had forgotten that he was afraid of heights and when he saw the height he was in, his head began to spin causing his posture to become imbalanced.

'Shit! I don't wanna fall *burp*'

Jin wanted to puke so hard but he forces himself not to cause this was a gamble of life and death scenario.

Crack!

Jin heard a cracking noise, as he observes his vicinity, it was the rock on his right hand that was about to crumble due to his strength and body weight.

Any longer, the rock wouldn't be able to hold Jin's whole body that would cause him to fall and just in an instance, his instincts made him activate his spatial inventory where it looks like he had fall in mid-air as he had removed both of his hands from the rock.

He didn't know why he had done this since it was purely by instincts so he had no choice but to trust on his body's ability.

Jin quickly pulled out both the Dreaded Fang and the Rusty knife from his spatial inventory and he struck them both through the walls of the mountain.

He had avoided the fall due to his instincts.

"I am, I'm alive!"

Jin took a deep breath in relief. He look at the two weapons he had struck in the ledge. It was like the daggers had stick like glue as it didn't make him fall.

With this, Jin slowly remove one of the daggers and stuck it above the upper walls. He continued this process and finally, in 3 minutes he had successfully entered the cave.

"Damn, that was thrilling!"

Jin brushed off the dirt in his body. He retrieve the Rusty Knife and equipped the Dreaded Knife.

He walked down the cave and eventually arrive at the center. To his surprise, there was no Griffins even if he searched thoroughly, there was nothing!

"Hehehe, this is some joke right?"

Jin couldn't believe it. It meant that his efforts where all in vain. He wanted to laugh it all off but there was nothing he could do.

He thought why were there no griffins. If he was to say that the griffins went hunting, he wouldn't believe that since griffins hunt at night and the time was at early 7:00 am frozen.

The only theoretical thing he could think is that the griffins might have been hunted by some hunters before the time had ran out.

The cooldown of the griffins respawn was 3 days and if Jin would wait for 3 days, it would all be useless since time had also been frozen so there was no way they'd respawn.

"Fucking piece of shit hunters! If I see you again, I'll beat you to pulp that you could never see daylight anymore!"

Jin rustled in regret. He hated all of the hunters in the world since they were all greedy, selfish and stupid. If he returns, he wouldn't hesitate to kill them with his own hands if it meant for the better of humanity.

Jin walked out of the cave depressed. He slide down the steep mountain looking dead.

As he dropped down the ground, he continued walking. He thought of the horrible things the hunters did to him like that once, he was made by some psycho hunter as a lab rat.

Eventually, he snapped out of it and looked at the bright side.

"It's okay if I can't find any griffins, there are still tons of monsters there ready for me to kill."

Jin continued on running. He saw a group of sand scorpions and each he killed with his trusty dagger. He had received 2 levels as a result.

He save up the points for the future since he must be wary if they're something that would happen.

Then, he found a giant cobweb where there, a bunch of big spiders resting. In the middle of the cobweb, a giant spider that would be their mother froze to sleep.

"Spiders have strong limbs but their body is very fragile. So their stomach should be their weak points, the journalist also said that their blood and saliva has 70% acidity imbued in it so if I were to come in contact with it, I might get poisoned."

WIDOW

Rank: Mid-tier Boss

Level: 20

HP: 25,000

"A boss, and a mid-tier one it is."

It was Jin's first time encountering a mid-tier boss. The difference between a low-tier and a mid-tier boss is that the mid-tier has more various sets of skills and not only that, if their HP reaches to 10% they'd go berserker meaning their defense and would abruptly go down but all the other skills would be enhanced by a few folds. One can tell if they are going berserk if they emit a red and livid aura. There berserk only lasts for a minute but in that time, many hunters who encounter mid-tier boss would lose their life, even if they try to escape from their range, a berserk boss will hunt you down so there is no escaping there grasps.

Well, they do have a downside. After there berserk mode, their status will decrease by half so they would become nothing more than a sack of XP.

Many hunters would try and constrict the boss until its berserk stops and right after that, they'd barrage it with skills. There are also intelligent monsters that right after their berserk ends, they'd momentarily flee until their backlash stops and regenerate enough health so they could return in killing the hunters.

But all of those were useless to Jin. He wasn't moved at all, more or less Jin was happy. The stronger the boss, the better the loot he'd receive.

"The poison is the problem."

Jin had to be cautious. For now, he had also included his VIT in enhancing since he still don't know how heavy the damage he will receive if in an instant he would be struck by the poison.

Not only that, but the duration of the poison must be also on the look, this might cause him to die as he didn't have an antidote in his inventory.

If he was to kill the spiders from the webs, their blood might leak and spurt out so it would be dangerous. His plan was to cut all of the webs first so the spiders would drop down the ground and there he could kill them easily.

But first, Jin had to check how strong the web threads are.

"Let's see... that!"

Jin placed all his strength to the dagger trying to cut it but the result only cause it to make a few sparks as it collides with the blade.

"Hmmm...its pretty sturdy. I think this thread is made of steel since sparks form after I hit it."

Jin examined the thread. The thread had a very high defensive stats so if Jin uses his basic attacks, it might take him at least 20 hits to cut it. That in all is very tiring and would waste much time so he had no other option.

"Wait! I think I have a skill!"

Jin realized that he had accumulated 3 skills after getting his class. One of it was [Hunter Strike] that lets him deal damage in a large area, but since thorns came out instead of waves, he needed to have high accuracy to hit one of the thorns onto the thin threads.

"Let's try, [Hunter Strike]!"

The Dreaded Fang began to emit black aura and when Jin slashed it at the endpoint where the webs had been struck too.

Woosh!

Blackthorns that had a meter in length from in the black aura of the dagger. The thorns flew out in a fan-shaped area mostly piercing the spiders near the edge of the webs.

Only one of the threads had been successfully cut but the damage in each thorn was immensely high. Not only that, the decrease in defense made damage higher and higher depending on how many thorns had hit the spiders.

Well, it wasn't a really devastating damage since each spider had 5,000 HP. Jin was trying to compare it to the last monsters he had killed. The difference between monsters in high levels makes such a huge gap between those in the low levels so Jin had to adapt to this change.

He could also see that that thorns that pierce down the spiders slowly fade as this was the duration for the decrease in defense.

"This is harder than I thought."

Wonder why Jin thought it was hard? It was not only that he had to wait for 15 seconds before he could use it again. His intelligence was very low meaning his mana would also below. He only had 90 mana points and since he had continuously use it due to [Flash] meaning his current mana was 23/90. The mana would regenerate by 2 every 5 seconds so apparently, it would take some time before he could continue on casting skills.

It was good that he was hitting two birds with one stone since he could damage the spiders from afar making him relatively safe and could slowly cut down the threads but the percentage in which he could cut even one thread was lower than 30%, so there was a high chance that he can't succeed on cutting a thread.

Well, he could use the status points he had saved up from the last extermination and increase his intelligence but he was still wary of his HP since it had no regeneration.

If he had known of this outcome, Jin would have saved up a lot of mana and health potion. His only choice was to stop this for now and go hunting other monsters in the canyon and return here. If he would do this, there would be a chance that he might get a skill or two that could help him in subjugating this monster with ease.

"Might as well give up for now."

Jin sighed in regret. This was only for the good for him since he was learning from his mistakes and continue growing not only physically but also mentally.

Before that, Jin opened his player status and distributed the reserved points to VIT and INT to increase them both.
