17 17. Heavy Steps
Mufasa didn't use any type of weapon and only rely on his brute strength and techniques alone. He uses his long and sharp nails as blades defending the barrage of attacks made by the Pete and the others.
They used their swords and try to damage Mufasa but he was too fast for them to even land a single blow.
"He's fast!"
"Ya think!"
They continued on slashing their swords towards Mufasa to try and give enough time for Scar to finish charging his powerful skill.
"How much longer?"
Pete shouts out to Scar who was raising his sword, Burning Rapier up in the air charging up his special skill [Prominence Burn] that lets him deal heavy damage to the targets in a straight line, it ignores 100% of magical defense and adds a 60% burn damage to the target that lasts up to 20 seconds. But this skill needs to be charged by 10 seconds for it to activate.
As the flames on the sword began to burn brightly, his companions were about to wear down due to the continuous counter-attacks of Mufasa with his sharp and pointy nails to their body that left rigid marks that had cause them to slow down and be weakened.
"Hurry up!"
"Now!"
Quickly the 4 beastmen dashed back to escape from the area of attack. Down as Scar pointed Burning Rapier towards the direction of Mufasa, a beam of flames flew straight towards him causing Mufasa to be blinded by the flash.
Vhooooong!!
"You think you can kill me with this?"
Mufasa didn't try to evade the incoming blast and faced it head-on.
"[Revolve]!"
"What?"
It was a skill that Scar haven't heard of from him. It must have been a skill that Mufasa hid knowing that Scar would use this attack again so that's why he didn't care to avoid the powerful attack when last time he would usually evade it.
He opened both of his palm making a magic circle in the center. The magic circle then formed a small black hole that was the size of a cherry which absorbed the burning beam inside.
"Ack!"
"I-it didn't work?"
"There's no-no way!"
The 4 of them were shocked by this twist, even Scar had his eyes widened seeing that his powerful attack just now was completely absorbed.
"Surprised? Well, I'm not done yet."
Mufasa began to take a stance similar to G*ku when using K*****ha. The black hole began to shake violently like it was about to explode.
"Die."

The powerful beam had blasted back towards Scar. But now, it was wider in area attack and had turned into crimson red in color.
Scar couldn't move from his place and he already know that this was the end of his line. The only thing he could think of was Jin if he had accomplished his task.
'Jin, please run away!'
He said to himself. When he was about to close his eyes to meet up with death, immediately, the 4 beastmen arrive in front of him lining up and forming a defensive stance to try and defend the attack.
"If you die! We must die first!"
"Yeah! You gave us another life and we wouldn't hesitate to give it to you!"
"You were kind boss! And we thank you for that."
"Because of you, I had seen another perspective in life."
Saying their last words, Scar couldn't help but cry seeing this.
'Sacrificing themselves for me, they really are a bunch of assholes.'
"This enough for a grown like me to cry!"
Tears flowed out from Scar's eye and the beastmen were also smiling in tears.
"It's hopeless for all of you to try!"
Mufasa yelled out to them seeing that their efforts to defend their boss was just in vain.
Shwwwiinngg!
Trying to defend the powerful beam of fire, the sword of the first beastman instantaneously melted and blasted up to his body that carved a giant hole killing him in the process. This blast continues used on to the next beastman and to then next and to the next and lastly towards Scar who forcibly defend it using Burning Rapier.
Slowly the beam weakened and dispersed into ash leaving the empty holes in the corpse of his 4 companions on the ground and him who eventually defended the attack until the end who had survived due to his sword that only heated itself up but didn't melt in the making.
"Hahaha! You have survived my attack! I am utterly surprised! I wouldn't be satisfied if you have died that easily! You wouldn't be my brother for nothing right?"
"Yeah."
Seeing the corpse of his friends that he had shared bond and hardships with made him ferociously angry.
All of the heat of the Burning Rapier that it had formed was slowly being absorbed by Scar's body. This made him feel a burning sensation coursing through his blood vessels.
Until all of the current heat in Burning Rapier was absorbed by Scar. The hairy parts on his body: his hands, chest, face, and feet had engulf itself into raging flames turning him into a burning beastman.

Just before the fight started, Jin arrived in the treasury room. Inside, mountains of gold and items piled up that reached above the ceiling of the giant room.
"If I could get all of this, I'll be rich! *slap*"
His greediness wanted to overcome himself so he arguably slap his face to stop this nonsense.
"No! Where not here for that!"
Eventually, he returned from his senses and walked passed the mountains of treasure, he was not here for riches, he was here for Thorne.
He arrives at the end of the room and there he saw a sword encased in a glass box. The sword had its blade colored in gray and black and the handle was the only part of the sword that had retain its vivid violet color.
"I can tell that the power of this sword is slowly fading, this should be Thorne right?"
Scanning the glass that it was encased on, the glass was a magic barrier similar to the ones placed on the hunting grounds. Though this one was weaker, it is still a barrier that is hard to break with sheer force alone, Jin might need to use all of his powerful skills to try and destroy it.
"Hapt! Ah?"
When he was about to hit the barrier using Dainsleif, he saw a small handle on the side of the glass-encased barrier.
"What's this?"
Slowly he grabbed the handle using his thumb and index finger, the glass was easily opened.
"What did Mufasa even thought of putting a normal casing for this powerful sword?"
As he opens the casing, Jin grabs hold of the sword and was instantly stung by its power.
"Ah!"

He dropped the sword in the ground in shock after feeling the power inside it. It didn't particularly felt stingy, it was just an act of Jin to see that the sword was corrupted.
Jin grabs back the sword from the ground and check its description. Seeing the information, he was in a daze of confusion.

"What the fuck? Is this the gap in levels or is this sword is just godly? Why can't I see its description?"
He ramble out his confusion and retrieve the sword back to his spatial inventory. He was about to return back but then something caught his eye.
From the encasing on which the Thorne was placed, on its side, there was a small pillar where a necklace that had an amulet on it could be seen brimming in red light.
Temptation made him want to get the beautiful amulet but he restrained himself. Only did he thought to himself.
"Getting one item wouldn't hurt right?"
Knowing that nothing bad would happen if he brought another item with him just like how he safely brought Thorne made him get the necklace.

Soul Extract- The user can extract the soul of a 10-minute old corpse and place the soul to another vessel (Mannequin, skeleton, Item, monster, etc.)
The soul extraction's duration will last depending on how powerful the soul of the corpse is.

The soul will only bid its master unless he is fit to do so.
The vessel of the soul will last by 24 hours at most and if the soul forces itself to enter a vessel, it will only work by half and the duration will end by 4 hours and to that time, the soul will disperse into nothingness.

Jin screamed in joy. Aside from the cooldown reduction that made all of his skills cut in half that was already a scam, the name itself was scary. Imagine if he could extract a soul of a dragon and become his master was out of this world.

A wailing sound of a siren reverberate throughout the room. The lights inside the room begin to blink and the mountains of treasure slowly dissipate in ash.

"Shit!"
Hearing the loud siren and the window interface, he didn't hesitate to sprint back to the front door. The room shook violently and the gravity inside rose sharply. This made Jin slow down at an alarming rate due to having a heavyweight.
"Let me out! Let me out!"
Gritting his teeth as he forced himself to escape, his body wanted to drop down in the ground but he still forces himself to continue on making each step worth.
He had no choice, he immediately equipped the necklace not that he would use it for himself though it was impossible, he was using the cooldown reduction effect to lessen the cooldown of his sprint skills.
Ting!
Hearing the ringing noise, he looked at the skills but it was still in 16-second cooldown so it was not enough. He had no more skills reserved for use and the only thing he could think about was the [Sword Dash] skill but it needs a dance so it can be activated.
'Do I have a choice?'
Jin had already memorized the dance in his head but he couldn't perform it no matter what he does. He looked at the timer and it was now 7 seconds. He thought that he might not make it but he relaxed himself mentally and recall the dance in his head and equipped Dainsleif.
'First step! Put my left foot front and wave my sword downwards.'
His body moved along with the words he said to his mind. It took a second to perform and he continued to the next step.
'Next is wave the sword vertically from left to write and do a slight kick from the right feet to the left.'
His body process itself to move like flowing water and perfectly perform the step.
'Last is to do a 360 spin counterclockwise and thrust the sword upfront.'
Ting!
"Now! [Sword Dash]!"

His body moved like light flashing in a room as he left countless of afterimage behind instantly blinking himself on the front of the door.
"It worked!"
Boom!
The explosion of the treasury room blasted Jin 20 meters away as he crashes himself on a tree's leaves.

He crash on the branches of the tree and fell down on the ground. Though he didn't felt any pain, his body had gone numb momentarily due to the powerful boom.
"T-that was crazy!"
He forces himself to stand up and wipe the dust on his body and continue on his plan to run away but a loud roar echoes throughout the forest that brought heat waves all over the surroundings causing the dried leaves and branches of the trees to burn in ashes.
"Was that Scar just now?"
He said to himself looking back to the source of the growl. Even from afar, Jin could tell two powerful monsters clashing nonchalantly.
"I should get away as far as I can but I'm worried about Scar."
Jin really didn't want Scar to die. Scar wouldn't respawn like a Hunter like him, he would completely disappear from this world if he dies so Jin wanted to do everything he can to make his death avoidable.
"Even if he hates me for doing this, I'll do it!"
