10 10. Xenomorph Monster

"Did I miss something? No, I was sure that I killed all of the monsters and the map is already complete, so what did I forget?"

He rolled his brain to try and recall the encounters with the monsters he had just do. He was 100% sure that the monsters had all died, even if they didn't, the poison effect had still inflicted on them so they wouldn't have survived unless.

"Unless some of them had poison resistance!"

Jin returned back from the start and redo the process again. After finishing the process, yet no monster had truly survived so why wasn't the system making an alert?

"Woah!! Fucking piece of broken technology!"

Frustration caused him to kick down a rock in the ground. The rock went flying away and as he looked in the ground where the rock had stood, small insects could be seen in the ground.

"Don't tell me?!"

He looked at the insects closely and in his surprise, the insects where actually monsters.

"Do I have to check all of the rocks and kill all the insects that burrow in the ground? There's no telling how many of them, maybe hundreds, thousands or even millions! Ugh! This is so stupid!"

Frustrated by his own thoughts, he had second thoughts of actually stopping this ridiculous goal of his and just wait patiently for God to find out about this error and return him back to earth.

"Do I have to continue on another hunting ground and return back on this area? No, I can't do that, I'm too forgetful."

He had no choice but to that. He returned back to the starting point to check every burrows of rock, trees, cracks, and grasses.

"I really hope this will be worthwhile. If the boss is not a drake, then I'm fucking done."

••••••

He spent 3 days in the hunting grounds killing small insects and pests. It was a tiresome job not only that he had to remove the rocks or uproot the trees, but he had to also dig the grounds to clarify if he had exterminated the insects since they were some that had eggs that were very hard to tell considering the eggs looked like grains of rice and gravel.

It took him a lot of time but finally, after killing the last insects, the window interface had finally showed up.

Location of Arcane Hydra

"It's not a drake but a Hydra!! And it's also an Arcane type!"

Arcane type monsters had almost complete resistance against physical attacks and any type of skills not only that, they had absurdly high amounts of health. The only way to defeat them was by using elemental imbued skills and attacks. Fortunately for Jin, his Dainsleif was empowered with the poison stone and knowing from him, he knew that this would be an easy task.

After the system pinpointed the location, Jin needed to upgrade Dainsleif first. The reason he didn't do it in the firsthand accounts the fact that he was too busy on finding insects that he had forgotten that he already had enough items for it to consume and only realized it upon finishing his tasks.

It was only normal for the poison element to also not enhance since it was another type of item that could be unequipped if the user wants to.

Other than that, what really surprised Jin is that the skill [Devour] could now devour boss monsters.

"Though the chances are very significant, overall I'm glad that I could now use it to devour bosses. By the way, I still haven't tried this skill have I?"

Jin sprinted towards the location of the Hydra. Arriving at the cave, he walks inside the passageway with a smile on his face accompanied with heavy tears.

"Huhuhuhu, finally I arrived at this forsaken place. I really wish I wouldn't clear another insect-infested hunting grounds, huhuhu!"

The only reason why Jin did the task was due to his persistence. Without a strong persistence, one couldn't accomplish their goals without enduring difficult challenges and obstacles that come to their life.

Jin walked in the dark tunnel-like a blind man. Only then he realized something was different ever since he started doing these tasks.

"I wonder why there are no mana crystals in this place? The mana crystals I found were only on the drake yet why are there no crystals in these caves?"

It might have been the difference between their ranks. The drake was the only boss that was ranked Guardian and the last bosses where only Hidden Boss rank. This might also be the way he could identify a guardian boss.

"Does this mean that the Drakes are the only bosses that will drop the keys?"

That also was one of his predictions. Everything was entirely different if the boss was a drake, not only that mana crystals show up, the rank and the unique emblem that the drakes had could not be seen in the other bosses. The mark in the map only showed a blinking red dot unlike the drake's that had different markings.

The only similarities to all of the hidden bosses and the drake was that they are all connected to the existence of the legendary Dragons.

"Is the final boss a Dragon? No, I wouldn't think of fighting one."

Jin thought of what would be the outcome if he fought the Dragon. Even if it was in a frozen state, he was sure that it would be an impossible task and if not impossible, might be the most difficult task he'd face. He might rather have to clear insect type hunting grounds forever in his life rather than fighting a Dragon.

"How much HP does a dragon have? Maybe millions, trillion or quintillion!"

He continued thinking about the existence of the dragon. He didn't realize that he had to bump himself on a giant object due to the darkness.

Thud!

"Oh, I hit a wall?"

As he look closely at the object. It was not a wall but the hydra. He activated the skill [Thunder Clap] to make the place a bit clearer for him to see the Hydra and what met him was a majestic creature with blue exterior scales. Its three heads really stood out from everything, not that it had the peculiar face of a dragon, each head had the same forms and the only way to identify them was by their horns.

Their horns each had different patterns. From left to right, the first one is short horns, the middle is formed in branches like a deer and the last one was a straight and long.

"That girth, length and hardness. Ugh, I'm jealous~"

What the hell was Jin daydreaming about well, he returned from his senses and looked at its information.

Arcane Hydra

Level: 32

Rank: Hidden Boss

HP: 2,000,000

"Wtf?! Its health is double the size of the Mountain drake and here I thought that Drake is second strongest to dragons! Drakes, you let me down."

Before he tried on damaging it, he needed to try out his skills first since this would be a good training dummy.

"Let's try this first, [Devour]!"

Jin pointed Dainsleif towards the Arcane Hydra. A black substance began to appear onto the tip of the blade that fell down the ground and moved towards the Hydra's location at a fast pace.

The substance went below the Hydra and in an instant, the black substance spread out from the Hydra that formed a giant void.

An alien-like monster with only its gaping sharp mouth that is wide opened drift out from the void and ate the Hydra whole. And in a short moment, the monster completely devoured the Hydra and returned back to the void that soon disappeared in the ground.

"Ack! What the fuck happened? Don't tell me with that low percentage of success rate, it actually triggered it? Hahaha-"

Ting!

DEVOURING PROCESS WILL END IN.
