8 Revenge

[Hihihihii fancy seeing you here]

He knew that it would come to this meeting as he had already experienced it once, which lead to one of his biggest regrets.

[You're a surprise. You're one of the few of your newly joined race to actually inherit the heart. So glad that I have at least one decent Newbie under my wing. The others are next to useless dying left and right. Tell me, how should I finance my spa weekends with your kind? But my my look at you. You don't always have to have that grumpy look, but a smile on it kiddo]

"......"

[Alright Alright, you can stop being overwhelmed seeing yours truly, the handsome Skip.]

[Did you know that there will be three more inheritance test waiting for you?]

[You have the chance to make Skip happy if you get me my sweet bonus for being such a good supervisor. As you now have finished the first stage of the tutorial I am at freedom to give you small tips, that may give you a small advantage.]

[I really like you so just give me 50 taels in 2 months' time for me to buy some bread. Count yourself lucky as my colleges would charge three times the amount]

Skip didn't really lie as his colleges did charge more, but his tips did nothing more than stating the obvious as the same would be described in the quest notifications. But he did help him in a way as his anger would push him to succeed the next three inheritances earth, water and air. This allowed him to rise above the masses and get his revenge for being tricked by something as stupid as this hoax. He had to put his life on the line on a daily basis just to receive almost nothing out of it for 10 of his 30 years in the tower.

In his last life, he was a desperate 16-year-old that hadn't experienced the full cruelness of some people yet. He believed in someone without questioning or fact-checking as he was facing a lot of uncertainties. He wasn't sure if he accepted it out of all the fear and unknown that he had to face or because of his trait to trust someone before beginning to doubt. This trait could be admirable in his long-forgotten world but it's not to recommend in the dungeon. He and a lot of other humans had to slave away for a long time. Skip and his race of fairies assed the threat and power of all-new races and based their charged prices and rates on it. Humans were rated on the very end of the spectrum and very being charged at a high price as they would never be able to become a threat to the fairies.

They were right.

But Human emotions are a mysterious thing. They could be a weakness but when all hope is lost humans make themselves another goal, revenge. He did not know exactly when his heart froze or when his childhood was gone without him knowing, but Skip did his part and he would do his.

He ignores the fairy as he couldn't yet make an enemy out of them. The mental stress catching up to him and he slowly closes his eyes as he thinks about his short term goal, being the second person to ever receive all inheritances.
