The Black Mirror.

Hitori's eyes did not move from the ghost's face. He was frozen at the spot, his hands could not move even when he wanted to. He had his cold expression pulled on his face, rivaling the ghost's scary expression.

The ghost opened its mouth, a scene Hitori wish he had never seen. The insides of its mouth were all rotten, dark insides with insects moving freely, barely any teeth left at all, and a disgusting tongue.

Hitori closed his eyes and dropped his head down. As if bowing to the ghost. The ghost closed her mouth and looked down at Hitori with pale expressions.

Hitori took a deep breath. He opened and then raised his eyes to glance behind the ghost. He saw the wooden staircase which stood a few meters away from him.

He lifted his head and looked straight into the ghost's white eyes. He raised his right hand, moved his left leg behind, he took his stance.

The ghost tilted its head, she had closed her mouth so now she looked like an angry mom, only she does not have eyes.

Hitori pushed his foot back, with all of his strength, after tensing his thigh muscles, Hitori… took off… running.

The ghost was left stunned by the sudden actions. Hitori had gone past her and she was left staring at nothing. Hitori used his agility points which were an average of twenty to boost towards the staircase.

The ghost slowly turned around, her eyes fell on Hitori who was running down the hallway. Her eyes stayed fixed on him till he reached the staircase.

After a few more seconds, the ghost disappeared into thin air.

Hitori reached the staircase, took a long jump, and slid down the railing. At the end of his ride down to the floor, the wooden railing snapped from the corner.

Hitori managed to get back on his feet. He was back on the first floor, his only goal, for now, was to reach the ground floor.

But as soon as he rose up from the ground, the ghost in face of Reon greeted him.

[Mansion Ghost Lv. 24]

His eyes made contact with the status screen of the ghost. When he looked for the health bar… there was none present. Well, ghosts are already dead, are not they?

And when Hitori looked down at the ghost's hands, she was holding a set of culinary knives in her hands. She raised them in front of Hitori's head. She pulled the knife back and swung her hand in order to stab Hitori's eye.

Hitori quickly lifted his katana, which again appeared out of nowhere, and blocked the knife. He twisted his wrist to throw off the knife.

He gave her a push [yes, he did], went past her, and started his hunt for the staircase which led down to the ground floor.

While running down another big-ass hallway, a frown appeared on his face, "culinary knives?" where would a ghost find them? Reon did not have them with her since the start, and neither did the spirit.

Hitori climbed down the staircase, instead of heading straight to the door where he entered, he grabbed the railing and used it as a center point to throw all of his momenta to the other side.

The railing came off into his hand, he threw the ball off the railing and continued running to the backside of the staircase. Behind the staircase was the bathroom, guest room, dining hall, and obviously… the kitchen.

Hitori stopped in the middle of the kitchen, his eyes rolled across the kitchen very quickly. He took a quick glance at the kitchen in order to find an item he needed.

'Of course.' although they made it obvious where the item would be, they were not going to hand it to you, you will need to find the item yourself at the end.

Hitori started checking every cupboard in the kitchen. He grabbed the handle of another cupboard and pulled it open.

Inside the cupboard was a face with blank eyes and a sinister smile on it. Hitori silently closed the cupboard and took a few steps back. Crap.

Hitori ran to the other side, he used his katana to slice whatever he saw, he pulled the things off the station and created a mess everywhere.

The ghost came out from the cupboard and started at Hitori who was throwing everything around the kitchen. The ghost pulled out her knives, the sinister smile faded.

"There it is," Hitori felt relief when he saw an item shining brightly in a corner of the kitchen station. He went for the item but suddenly, the ghost appeared in front of him.

'Crap.' Hitori ducked the knife attack, he raised and ran in the opposite direction. The ghost soon followed him. Hitori ran in a circle, the ghost chased him like a fool.

The item was once again in front of him after completing a circle with a ghost. Hitori jerked his body and took a jump forward.

His hands wrapped around the item, the bright white light disappeared. Hitori crashed on the kitchen station. From behind, the ghost lifted her knives and dived in Hitori's direction.

She was above to stab and cut Hitori's neck when Hitori suddenly turned to face her, a handful of white substance came her way which made her pause where she was.

She did not only pause, but the ghost went feet away from Hitori. Hitori was super tensed, he brought him down to the floor.

[Aquired +1 Ghost repellent salt]

He did not waste another second. Hitori quickly found his way out of the kitchen. He went past the staircase. Hitori lit his little flame which soon extinguished but it gave him a sense of direction.

The main hall was darker than any other part of the mansion, well obviously, it was to prevent the players from finding out the secret to complete this quest.

Hitori dashed through the long hall, "where?" he lit his flame once again and looked around him. He saw the hideous face of the ghost heading his way.

He turned around and ran up to the same place where Reon had hit her foot previously. He lit the flame once again. There it was, a plane dark mirror resting on a table.

The ghost made a hissing sound, Hitori quickly pulled his hand from the repellent salt and threw a bunch of it on the ghost's face.

Hitori dropped the jar of ghost repellent, equipped his gun, and pointed it at the black mirror. The ghost behind him raised once again.

On seeing that Hitori had his gun aimed at the mirror, the ghost threw her set of culinary knives at Hitori. Hitori changed his target, he shot down all of the knives.

The ghost had disappeared. Hitori quickly turned back to the mirror. He heard another hiss, which revealed the ghost's position.

Hitori lifted his leg and landed a powerful kick on the ghost repellent which was lying on the ground.

As if a rocket was launched, the jar hit the ghost's face, and the remaining salt spread over the ghost.

Hitori did not waste another second, he quickly pulled the trigger. A bright purple bullet penetrated the black glass of the mirror and hence, shattered it into pieces.

He heard the ghost make a low groaning sound before it fell on the floor with a loud sound and soon, lost her consciousness.

With another flick, the lights of the whole mansion were turned on and Hitori received a notification regarding the quest he had cleared.
