7 Chapter 7 : The Unknown Ranker
As he enters the Guild Headquarters department building he see's people going crazy over how someone cleared an E-Rank Dungeon that turned out to be a red gate.
Guild Person" Hi how may I help you today.
Draiken" I'd like to exchange these Monster Crystal's and Cores.
Note : The Crystal's and Cores vary in value.
There's a total of 5 Crystal's A red which has the most value, a blue which follows, a purple, a yellow and a green which is not that expensive.
So Draiken brought with him a reasonable amount of blue crsyals, tons and dozens of purple and yellow crystals and the boss Core which was A Red Core.
Guild Person" Wow you must have scored big on the raid you were on huh.
Afraid to be exposed he laughs it off.
Guild Person" So with all this Crystal's and Core your total amount with 16% tax removed is ¥2 865 000.
Draiken" What are you sure that's the final amount.
Guild Person" I assure you sir we've never made a mistake here at the Guild Headquarters Department.
Draiken thinks to himself" So that means I can finally pay for my sister's bills and move her to a better private hospital with better care.
Guild Admittance" Sir would you like it cash or sent to you via EFT.
Draiken" Send it.
After receiving the money he rushes off to the hospital and settles his whole debts.
Draiken" Wow that was alot of debts now I'm left with approximately ¥767 000. That can sustain me for about a month or two but I still need to pay for my sister's hospital bills. So I guess it's back to the Dungeon.But first I need to sleep I haven't slept in 3 days.
Draiken goes back to his appartment to get some sleep.
2 DAYS LATER
Draiken" Damn I can't believe I slept for two days straight, but I do feel alot refreshed and it looks like the injuries to my body have been cured even my ribcage isn't broken anymore.
Phone rings.
Draiken" Private Number I wonder who it is.
He answers
Draiken" Hello.
Presses to answer" Hello Mr. Yusuhiro this is Xing Siu we would like to invite you to a special event happening next week. All the the strongest hunters and important people will be there in the world will be there.
Draiken" Not interested.
Phone Mr Xing Siu" Before you can reject Mr Yusuhiro plz hear us out first. The Guild Headquarters President would like to meet you to discuss some important matters.
Draiken thinking to himself" What the hell... Why would such a strong figure in the hunter world want to meet me for, could they know that it was me who killed all those monsters and cleared that Dungeon. At the same time it wouldn't be wise to refuse an invitation from the President I guess I'll have to go meet with him to really confirm if they know something or not and if they don't I might even gain some insight on how close they are to finding me and their current situation on if they have any leads but first let me set some conditions.
Draiken" What will I get from this.
Phone" We assure you Mr Yusuhiro, you will be well compensated for your time with us.
Draiken" Ok then I guess I'll see you next week.
Phone" Thank you Mr Yusuhiro.
He drops the call.
Meanwhile on the other side.
President Gang" So what did he say, did he agree to come to the event.
Xing Siu" Yes Mr President he agreed but he set some conditions.
President Gang" Yes and what are those conditions.
Xing Siu" He wants to be well compensated for his time.
President Gang" Well I guess that's pretty reasonable since he's gonna be the next big thing in this world.
Xing Siu" What do you mean sir.
President Gang" Didn't you hear the rumours ?
Xing Siu" No sir.
President Gang" Someone single handedly completed a E-Rank dungeon that turned out to be a Red Gate and came out alive at the end of it all but ofcourse no one saw him because of the Golem outbreak but someone recently deposited alot of Crystal's and monster cores and we believe it was him.
Xing Siu" Is that even possible.
President Gang" I believe in future this kid is even gonna be stronger than me.
Xing Siu" And that's why you want to meet him to get close to him.
President Gang" Not necessarily I just want to confirm my suspicions that's all.
Xing Siu" For some reason I don't believe you.
President laughs lightly
President Gang" Not everything in life has to be ""what will I gain"" sometimes it's about knowing the person you want to associate yourself with, that's all.
Xing Siu" If you say so President.
Back to Draiken's apartment he's about to head out and get himself something to eat, as he's walking he meets an old friend he hasn't seen ever since they both went for their Rank Evaluation Test.
Jiang" Longtime no see Draiken.
Draiken" What a surprise how have you been
Jiang" It's been good I got a job as a reporter for a big company ever since our Evaluations came out that day.
Draiken thinks to himself" Aww right Jiang Xin was never the type to fight, he hated the sight of blood and guts so he decided to get a normal job in his father's big company and lived a normal life although he was a D-Rank Hunter who was from a rich family that provided him with everything he needed.
Jiang" Anyways you've changed you're no longer that innocent, weak kid from back then you seem stronger and your body I could've sweared you worked for a modeling company or something.
Draiken" It's nothing serious I've just been exercising alot lately.
Jiang" Well keep it up cause alot of ladies will be running after you in the near future. Hahaha.
Draiken" Yeah right.
Jiang" Anyways I'm headed to a restaurant nearby would you like to join me my treat?
Draiken" Why not it's not like I had plans.
They head for the restaurant and find a table to eat.
Jiang" So how's it been going with your Hunter job, still killing alot of monsters?
Draiken" Teah something like that.
Jiang" Look I want to say I'm sorry for everything.
Draiken" Mhh
Jiang" I'm serious I should have never abandoned you as a friend when you needed my help that was selfish of me but now I earn a huge income from my dad's company and can help you with any problems you might have.
Draiken" I'm good for now. I don't want to owe anyone but when I need your help in future I won't hesitate to ask.
Jiang" Good to hear then, when that time comes I won't hesitate to help you either. CHEERS.
