8 The past 2 years

Cornelius had been painstakingly teaching his pupil these past two years. A reincarnate indeed, his aptitude to adapt and overcome quite spectacular. Especially in the eyes of a spirit.

'What a painstakingly human trait.' Cornelius thinks, his eyes watching the humanoid appearance of this shade demon. Today yet another day that he decided to give his pupil the silent treatment. 'Let the surroundings do their work.' He thinks as the clamoring darkness tries desperately to pull and tear every part of his pupil. Like a needy puppy begging for attention.

Little Ed has begun to understood that when Cornelius gives him this treatment, nothing he can do will make the spirit speak. Now he's just keeping himself busy with the magic he learned, commanding his own blood or toying with some darkness magic. A far more lively boy than he when he first found him, that's for sure. His mana has expanded rapidly and his ability to learn is second to none. Now all that remains is to wait and see if his teachings had not gone to waste. Will that trauma filled child be able to move to become a murderous man? Hopefully so, it's the preresiquite to survive "Lucille's Light." The only place with a source of light, the only semblance of civilization in this realm.

'The boy has to learn. No matter what.' Cornelius thinks as he thinks of the future. The 2 years have been fruitful but there is only so much confined learning can achieve. True progress is only made during the tumultuous time, when the question is to progress or to be left behind. Fated to die or sometimes even worse.

'Death.' The gentleman like appearance spirit thinks about such a strange concept. Something so alien to him yet also so close. 'What a disgusting thing.' He thinks as he continues to lead his pupil. The green, glittering eyes always had something otherworldly. As if a living treasure, a feeling of greed screaming in the back of his head. 'The surroundings have also been doing their work. Well it's to be expected of an abandoned place of the "D'Eyilds." How did anything even survive?' Cornelius rambles in his mind trying to pass the time himself.

Again he focuses on his pupil, his now soul bound companion. It's still a rather strange sight to see the child that was nearly soulless and formless, now sit here in pristine health. Of course their contract will have helped but still to be that near to eternal nonexistence and somehow remain sane. Even more strange was how everything started to reform after it happened.

Boiling blood, blood as the symbol of vitality, formed out of desperation to continue to live. Whilst the boiling part could either resemble the rage he felt or the fiery determination.

Embracing darkness, resembling his surroundings.

The long and vast purple river, resembling the capability of his soul.

Warmth...

'I have no idea. An idle wish?' Cornelius can only do so much as guess, as to why things came to be as it were. Creation has always been a mystery, one even mysterious for a being such as himself. Sometimes, the spirit wonders how lesser lifeforms live their life. Even more unaware... Perhaps, for the better. 'Insignificant things should care for insignificant matters.' He thinks, scoffing at the mere thought he managed to produce.
