103 A Contracted Battle

Having send Tharnomath and the frightened chimera on their way, Seccessus faces Ultrhis Kaahen.

Only at this moment could he see his opponent's stature. The lava stone orc leader before him is quite intimidating. He is more than 2 heads taller, whilst also being considerably wider. His muscled arms look like they are made of molten rock and his veins looks to contain pure magma.

The body is scarred, matching the tales that he has heard about the brute.

A moving fortress, a renowned barbarian, champion of a tournament and most importantly the man he must kill.

'Physically superior and probably has some sort of magic resistance, probably even physical. The smartest thing to do is probably staying out of reach and looking for any weaknesses.' Seccessus thinks quickly, analyzing his opponent.

His green emerald flash for a brief moment as mana fluctuates in his eyes as he uses the spell appraisal.

'...'

'Why isn't anything showing up? I don't believe that he's too powerful. Otherwise, I would probably be dealing with some sort of aftermath. The bull chimera bled from his eyes and I felt an incredible pressure when trying it on Ergillaz. So why do I simply feel nothing, now?' Seccessus wonders annoyed and pissed off.

This brief moment of thought could not last long. Ulthris Kaahen had noted that Tharnomath has left the battlefield and knew that he finally could beat this prideful coward.

Settling his feet against the debris of their first little bout, he positioned himself in the most optimal way to rush his opponent.

As soon as the emerald eyes flickered, he used the debris to launch himself. The amount of strength exerted in this jump was so great that the debris that he used to launch himself shattered.

With a high velocity of speed, he manages to completely close the distance.

Seccessus was taken by complete surprise, not excepting one known as the walking fortress to jump him like a hunting leopard.

Wielding "Schweres Herz" sideways, Ulthris strikes his opponent. The sound of bones breaking and a forceful exhalation of breath was overshadowed by the loud force that connected with Seccessus's body.

Seccessus gets forcefully slammed into a building. Making it collapse on the spot.

"Not so talkative now." The lava stone orc murmurs, dissatisfied.

"Those golden eyed cowards thought you had a chance? It seems they truly only use it as an accessory."

".."

"WAS THIS ALL YOU GOT! I'M NOT DONE BEATI-" The passionate orcish rant gets unceremoniously interrupted.

A black mixed with red spear is once more lodged into his skin. Seccessus walks out of Ulthris shadow, piercing the spear deeper in Ulthris's back.

His superior regenerative power compared to Tharnomath allowed him to recover rather quickly. A war hammer is a brilliant weapon, but unless the strike is fatal or managed to decapitate a body part. Seccessus his regenerative power will automatically heal him.

Still, however, damage has clearly been taken. His lips are bloodied and his clothes are stained with his own blood.

The spear embedded into Ulthris's back is also doing some damage. However, it is considerably less than what Seccessus had taken.

Ulthris slams his feet into the ground. Shattering it once more. This causes Seccessus to fall off balance.

Seeing that Secessus might have some other underhanded tricks, Ulthris reaches for his head. In an attempt to keep him in close proximity.

The off balance Secessuss still managed to dodge. Using his wings made of dark mana to fly backwards. Barely dodging the attempted grapple.

Now that a fair amount of distance separates the 2, they both had to change their strategy

Secessus who's still unaware about Ulthris's exact abilities decides to test the water. Keeping his distance from the rushing orc, he continuously casts a combination of dark and fire distance spells.

The spells had close to none of an effect. Especially the fire spells seemed futile. The orc's heritage has probably given him some sort of fire resistance. Combine that with his natural strong skin and presumably some sort of magic resistance.

'I don't know if I am actually capable of hurting this man.' Secessuss begins to wonder, a frown appears on his displeased face.

Continuing this duck chase for a few more minutes, bot fighters have recognized that they've entered a stalemate.

Seccessus was able to escape his grasp and unlike Tharnomath managed to recover from a direct hit.

Both still struggled to actually inflict any significant damage themselves, however.

This had mainly to do with the following factors.

Orcs are being that are known for physical prowess. In exchange, they tend to lack mana compared to other races such as devils. Evolution does not sit still however and because of the plenty of wars and calamities the race had to survive, they also started to inherently form a resistance to mana.

The second factor is that Ulthris Kaahen had ingested titan blood. Titans are rumored to have existed before the gods and shaped the realms. This was not done out of kindness nor any apparent reason. A titan simply existed and because of its existence destruction and creation were bound to happen.

The titans started to disappear, and other lifeforms started to form in the realms that the titans left behind.

There is proof of their existence, especially in Appolyian as the Talvit brothers own remnants of an unknown titan.

Their father Arioch Talvit found it in his early days and kept it in his possession.

Titan blood in specific has been the source of a lot of speculation. Many have argued that the gods have ascended to godhood by devouring parts of titans. For it is widely known that some deities were mortals before "ascending."

Others have speculated that titan blood contains the essence of the veil between the realms. This mainly stems from the theory that the titan's sole purpose was to create and destroy realms. Their bodies could then perhaps also be considered the fabric used in this "creation."

When a mortal digest titan blood, only a few effects are certain. One cannot appraise an individual who has titan blood, for no one can appraise creation, not even the gods. Secondly, if ingested correctly and safely, then resistances and other powerful abilities should be bestowed upon the individual.
