Chapter 101

SKYLAR'S POV

Mom was at the studio working on another album and Dad was in Canada working on a movie he was going to be in. Which left me home alone again.

You may be wondering who my parents are. My Mom is known best as Demi Lovato, but since she is married to my Dad, her last name is now Valderrama. You can probably guess who my Dad is. If you guessed Wilmer Valderrama then you would be correct.

Currently it is 6:28 AM and I leave for school in an hour. I finished getting ready pretty fast because why make myself look good for school? It's just school.

I decided to go into my late older sister's, also known as Alexis, room while I waited for Aunt Maddie to come and pick me up to take me to school.

I never knew my older sister because she died before I was even conceived. No one will tell me how she died and it upsets me. Why can't I know? Then again, if I wanted to I could probably look it up on Google, but I don't want to find out that way.

As I entered Alex's room, I looked at all the photos my parents had set up in there. Five years after her death, my parents decided to turn her room into a memorabilia for her. I was four at the time. They never made her bed because they wanted to leave it the way it was.

I went over to her closet, looking at all her clothes. I grabbed one of her band hoodies and put it on. It was surprisingly a little big on me, but I didn't mind.

"Honey, I'm home!" I heard Maddie shout from downstairs.

"Hey, Mads!" I smiled as I slung my backpack over my shoulder and bounded down the steps.

"Are you ready?" Maddie questioned as she stood next to the door way.

"Yep!" I told her as I grabbed a granola bar from our pantry. Both of us headed out of the door and got into the car. I opened up my granola bar and took a bite out of it.

"Music?" Maddie asked me. I turned on the radio and we were met with a familiar song, which was Stone Cold by my Mom. We both were singing along to it and during the part where my Mom belts out the last section, Maddie stopped singing and I just continued.

"Holy fucking shit! That was amazing!" Maddie exclaimed after I belted it out.

"Could've been better." I shrugged. We eventually arrived at the school, also known as hell.

"Have fun! Don't do drugs!" Maddie exclaimed as I got out of the car. I laughed and rolled my eyes before entering the building. I went to my locker, grabbing some books and then made my way to class.

—————————————————————

After all of my boring classes, I went to my locker, putting away the books I didn't need. I went to exit the building but was stopped by the popular group of the school. Everyone calls them the three A's because all of their names start with the letter A. Their names are Amelia, Aurora, and Abby.

"Where do you think you're going, bitch." Amelia made me turn around to face her. Both Aurora and Abby were behind her. It was like Amelia was Darth Vader and they were Stormtroopers.

"Home.. where else would I go?" I answered.

"You should consider going to the gym instead. You're looking a little fat." Amelia started saying. "Maybe you should follow in your mother's footsteps and stop eating or throw up all of your fat."

"Shut up.." I spoke quietly before I turned around and walked towards the school doors.

"Go hang yourself like Alexis did!" Amelia shouted at me as I exited the school.

I sighed as I looked around to see who was picking me up today, which turned out to be both Matthew and Sirah, and no, they aren't married. They were Mom's best friends.

It's not surprising anymore when none of my parents pick me up from school or drop me off. I just wish they would do it again. I miss spending time with them.

"Hey, girl!" Matthew exclaimed as I got in the backseat.

"Hey." I replied quietly as I buckled up.

"How was school?" Sirah asked as she started the car.

"Fine." I told her. It was silent for a bit, besides the radio playing music before I spoke up. "She hung herself.."

"What?" Sirah instantly questioned.

"Alex hung herself.. that's how she died, didn't she?" I asked quietly.

"How.. how did you find out?" Matthew looked back at me.

"Someone from school.." I told them both as we pulled into the driveway of my house.

I quickly grabbed my backpack, getting out of the car, and ran inside with them right behind me. I ran upstairs to the bathroom and was glad when they didn't follow me. I locked the door and looked at myself in the mirror. My parents always say that I'm smaller than the average fourteen year old teenager, but I don't feel that way.

As I was looking at myself, I saw I got a message on my phone from Amelia. She sent me a link about purging, which I knew what it was because of Mom's struggles when she was younger. There were also more messages she sent.

Amelia 💅🏻: You should do what your Mom did.

Amelia 💅🏻: Don't eat.

Amelia 💅🏻: Throw up all your food and get rid of your fat.

Amelia 💅🏻: Also, I left a little surprise for you in your backpack

Maybe I was too fat. Maybe that's why people didn't like me. It's probably why my parents are always busy. They don't want to hang out with a fat freak of a daughter. I sighed as I opened up my backpack to see what Amelia left. I saw it right at the bottom, it was a note attached to a blade.

"Dear Fatty,

Here's a little present for you. Hopefully you'll get the hint and cut too deep and die.

Sincerely, Amelia, Aurora, and Abby."

I held the blade in my hand as I read the note.

'Come on, do it just this once. You'll like it.'

Fine.

- TRIGGER WARNING -

The voices were talking in my mind. Mom tends to call them demons when she talked about them to me. They never really talked to me up until a couple weeks ago.

I rolled up the sleeves of the hoodie I was wearing and put the blade up against my bare arm. I slowly made a cut with the sharp piece of metal. It hurt at first, but after another cut, came another. It's like I couldn't stop. The pain gave me some type of satisfaction. I ended up stopping because of someone knocking on my bathroom door.

- TRIGGER WARNING OVER -

"Sky, dinner is ready!" Mom's voice spoke through the other side.

"Okay!" I replied as I quickly hid the blade under my bathroom sink.

I turned on the faucet and rinsed off my arm. After I cleaned my arm, I rolled down my hoodie sleeves. I picked up my backpack, exited the bathroom, and threw my backpack on my bed before I went downstairs to the dining room.

"Come and eat, baby girl." Mom said as she set a plate of food down in front of an empty chair. Matthew and Sirah were already eating.

"Thanks, Mama." I smiled before sitting down in front a plate of spaghetti.

'Don't eat. You'll get fatter.'

I have to eat.

'You don't have to eat.'

"How was school?" Mom asked, breaking me out of my thoughts. Besides finding out my sister died by hanging herself by someone that bullies me then fine. I didn't say that, of course.

"It was good." I answered. "But uh.. I'm not really hungry tonight. Plus, I have a lot of homework. May I be excused?"

"Are you okay?" Mom looked worried.

"I'm fine." I told her.

"What did we say about using the term 'I'm fine'."

"That it doesn't mean that anyone is fine." I replied, slightly annoyed. I don't know why she hates that term, but she does. "I promise, I'm okay. So may I please be excused?"

"I guess." Mom sighed.

"Thanks." I quickly got up. Before I made it to the stairs, Mom stopped me.

"Wait!" Mom exclaimed. I turned around and looked at her. "We need to talk about something important later, baby girl. Okay?"

"Okay." I simply replied before I ran upstairs to my room. I shut my door and pushed my backpack off my bed before laying down. I curled up into a fetal position as I finally let the tears come out of me. After a bit crying, sleep managed to overtake me.
