Chapter 3 loss

It was night the wind rustled the leaves of the oak trees. An owl hooted in the distance. Then a loud thud followed by screaming.

In the bedroom I shared with my sisters, Eliza told me we were going to play a game. " Hide where I won't find you, and be absolutely quiet. Okay? It will be a great game right?" I nodded my head; I definitely wanted to play. "Now go and hide okay. I'll find you. It will be okay." She pressed the dagger I got from Lill into my hands. " I love you dear little sister. Now go"

I ran outside and went into the chicken coop while my mom was screaming. I didn't know why, but I was scared. I could feel the heat from the chickens and see my breath. Then there was another gone shot and the another and another.

Then silence, no movement until I heard the back door open. Laboured breaths and two sets of heavy footsteps came toward me. I wanted to scream, but Eliza said to stay quite, she doesn't like it when I don't listen. So I have to be quiet.
