Saving the beauty!

Evan pov.

I sighed as I looked at the fruits in my hands. They were rotting because of the continuous rain. But it was not the only thing that was drenched. I was too suffering from the rage of the god of thunder. I tried to look above but the intensity of the rain drops was too high.

"Looks like i have to manage with these fruits only." I sighed as I could not look for a small animal for hunting or other fruits until the rain stopped.

I ran towards the tree to get refuge under the tree when I heard a scream.

For a moment, I was scared. Have they found me again?

I shook my head. If they would have found me then I would have been the one screaming, not the other way around.

Rationality told me to mind my own business and ignore the sound but like always curiosity took better of me. And before i realized i have already started walking toward the sound.

I moved the shrubs only to see a young girl drenched like me. But when I moved closer I realized she was badly injured and covered with her own blood.

Her clothes were torn showing her fair skin that was glistening in the moonlight. But most of her body was covered with blood.

She reacted like an injured kitten when she saw me and tried to show her fangs. Too bad! I have seen worse!

"I am here to help, my lady" my soft voice and easy attitude somewhat assured her as she let me come closer to her.

"Oh my, you are fully covered in blood." I walked closer and observed her, "if you don't mind, i can help you." i asked as i did not want her to feel that i was trying to take advantage of her, but i did not know if i would be able to stop myself if she denied?! I could not see a human dying in front of my eyes!

"Do whatever you want, but do not take my veil off." she replied, taking an0ther shallow breath.

"You are strange, you know. You are going to die if not attended, and instead of being worried about your life. You are worried about your face." I shook my head at the absurdity, "you know if you die, I can see your face anytime. But I am a gentleman. ``I sat in front of her and held her leg.

My hands trembled as it was the first time I held a woman's legs. I looked towards her but instead of embarrassment, there was amusement in her eyes.

I felt more flustered looking at her face so I moved my gaze back to her knees.

"There are only minor scratches." I was surprised as I thought there would be heavy injuries looking at the blood on her clothes. I took the ointment I had made in the morning from my pocket and gently applied it on her body.

"It will burn a bit okay, but it will help in healing." I informed her but she just chuckled as she nodded her head. I thought that she would wince but she just laid there with her eyes closed as if she felt nothing.

I would have thought that she died, if i would not be able to hear her shallow breathing.

Finally the rage of the sky lord ended and the rain subsided. The dark clouds started to pass and the sky turned clear again. With the presence of moonlight it was easier to see her now.

Her blood was darker, much darker than it should be.

"You have been poisoned?" I asked as I looked at her condition, detonating every passing second.

Her eyelashes fluttered as she tried to open her eyes but after sometime she gave up. Dread filled my heart as I saw her condition.

"You.. ahh.. You are smart" her voice was barely above a whisper, and i knew she would not be able to see the sunrise, if nothing was done soon.

"What kind of poison is given to you?" I asked with a panicky voice.

'Oh my! What shall i do.. what shall i do?' I pulled my hair in anger. A habit I have developed over years to take out my anger and panic.

"It.. tastes sweet" she replied with difficulty and my brain started overworking.

"Oh. There is only one poison that tastes sweet. Wait for me here. I will be back soon." I replied and stood up when she chuckled again.

"Like I could move, you dimwit." she cursed and i chuckled. She was the first woman.. No! First person who could haul profanities to the person who was trying to save her even when she was hardly able to speak.

"Hey, I will not let anything happen to you." I said , caressing her cheek. I did not know why but I felt that she needed this assurance.

Finally she opened her eyes and looked at my face. After few seconds she nodded and her eyes dropped again

I ran from there looking for the necessary herbs. I have seen my father treated this position once, but I have personally not tried to make this antidote ever. I sighed as I finally found the herbs.

After some hesitation, I looked around and when I was sure no one was there, I closed my eyes and used the chant. Soon a bright light came out from my hands and the leaves turned into a potion.
